A late summary of the recent Crew Leader Meeting Started by: Daniella on Feb 19, '17 20:59

Daniella stepped out onto a street corner, taking a moment to look around before she started speaking.

Our dearest Godmother, Mouseycop, was supposed to be out here days ago to give everyone a brief rundown at what happened at the latest Crewleader meeting, which happened exactly one week ago today. Unfortunately, she’s been under the weather and hasn’t been able to make it out here, so rather than any further delay she asked that I come out here on her behalf. I’m sure she’ll be back on her feet in no time and we’ll see her soon.

Moving on, a variety of topics were discussed last week when we convened and each will be discussed.

First and foremost, Godfather Bonkers announced that @Miss_Niki is the official head of New York and has complete reign over the city. She has since relocated her headquarters to her rightful position in Brooklyn. We look forward to seeing New York grow and continue to prosper.

Next, Godfather Fitz stepped forward to announce the favor system. Because of concerns that some may be unsure or confused about how the favor system works, he announced that they would shortly be releasing additional information and instructions. In addition, a listing would be made of all annexed city crews and posted in the streets so that people can more easily keep track of those that are in or out of favor. A few days later and Don Lucius Sweet was out on the streets handing out leaflets that detail the system and the expectations of the annexed city crew leaders.

There was little discussion on the above two issues and the meeting was moving quickly. The third topic was brought up by Don Utopia:

On that subject, following the Anteros incident, I'd be interested if there's a consensus on whether annexed city CLs are free to shoot out of favour CLs in other cities, subject to permission (which would be expected if they're out of favour)

There was some discussion but the general consensus was rather simple and Godfather Disorder summed it up best when he stated:

Seek consultation with the parent city head before taking any steps that may be deemed contentious

An excellent example of the favor system occurred just last night. Capo Anthony Mitchell fell out of favor with his parent city due to his low level of activity, unanswered mails and seemingly little to no efforts being made. Godfather Bonkers made a public hitlist to announce that this crew leader was now out of favor and maybe spur him into activity. Shortly after the hit was posted an individual, who will remain nameless unless they wish to share, approached the Godfather and asked if Mr. Mitchell could be shot. The Godfather responded that he would not be shooting him himself but he would not act against anyone who choose to do so. That person then decided to take the shot and they let the Godfather know in advance that they would be taking it.

Lastly, and perhaps the most discussed topic at the crew leader meeting, was an announcement by Godfather Fitz that a rule was being put into place that associates would be allowed to move to different families (as in, their current crew leader cannot deny their request) but a financial agreement between the member and crew leader could be enforced before they leave. It was explained that this rule is being announced because some crew leaders will not allow their associates to move families, making people feel trapped.

Most crew leaders seemed to agree with this rule, though questions were raised about the financial agreement. For example, Shady_Sam asked what would happen if a leader demands an unreasonable amount (it will affect their favor). Another leader suggested the financial agreement be limited to a percentage of that member’s earnings.

Still another thought had to do with a possible time frame on an associate’s movement (there isn’t one) or another on limiting the number of times a person can jump from one crew to another (again, there isn’t one).

All of these thoughts and suggestions were summarized by Godfather Disorder in a recent street speech, which led to further discussion and clarification.

That about sums up the recent crew leader meeting. Of course there was idle chit chat, a few funny moments and at the very end a discussion on an old and silly topic that I won’t even bother to bring back. Overall it was a good and productive meeting at which nearly all of the crews had at least one representative.

Again, apologies for the delay in getting this information out onto the streets. It has been mentioned in the past by many leaders but I will say again, if anyone has a specific topic or idea that they would like to see addressed during one of these meetings I encourage them to speak with their crew leader, one of the Godfathers or honestly, any leader you feel comfortable approaching.
