I would like to correct you on one point..

anyone who has the rank of Godfather deserves it then wouldn't any wiseguy who has made points therefor deserve the rank?

I didn't mean that at all.. I meant that anyone who has been given the rank of Godfather and put in the time and effort does deserve it. A wise guy who has made man points isn't the same.. a Made Man who has put in the work and was given the rank by his boss is comparable to what I meant.


I do agree with you, bickering is pointless. I just didn't want anyone to think that I thought all Wise Guys deserved the Made Man rank simply because they had the points.

But if majority like it then I can't see why it shouldn't be implemented.

I'm sure a majority would like easier kills and more crimes too, but it's likely not going to happen on account of balance.


I'll have to agree with AfroSamurai in saying that it would only cheapen the rank and be seen by hopeful Godfathers as an annoying stepping stone which could lead to the potential of quickly promoting the newest body for their promotion. Hell, it might even start making people farm made men from other families that are under them. I can't sign off on it, although I know the original intention is a great concept. Great idea in theory, high potential for abuse.

Abuse of this idea would be up to the GF, if a Don suddenly promoted 10 people to MM and then as soon as he got GF demoted them again, it would go some way to showing the rest of the players what sort of person he is. It would tarnish his reputation, and in this game a tarnished reputation is often worse than any other possible negative.

I personally believe that a variation of this is a good idea.

Why should a Don with the points and time requirements but with a family of associates get to be a GF. GF represents a Don with significant power who has assumed control of an area and all organized crime in that area... we all know that at present the GF system can be abused, people have in the past 'borrowed' other families members just to get the 30 crew requirement.

I believe this is a good suggestion :)
