A few weeks ago, I posed a question in the 'help' section: would an RP, written in the style of a novel, still count as an RP even if it wasn't strictly 1920s-1930s in setting. Since then, that idea has been hanging around in my mind, growing and evolving.

My working title for this program is The Mafia Book Club, and is subject to change. This program, while initially envisioned for just myself, is open to everybody who wishes to submit their 'novel' to the program. The way it works is very simple. The author will write their story (or, at least, the first 'chapter') in a thread in the back alley. Once this is finished, then it will be sent to me (or someone working with me) to make sure it meets some basic standard of quality assurance. When the story is approved, it can be posted to the streets. As soon as I am in Los Angeles, I will include the link for your 'novel' in an RP-ed post in my bookstore.

Now, for the readers. We all enjoy reading a good story, and discussing it. However, one thing that must be kept in mind is that the story must be discussed like you were reading a book together. The author is welcome to be involved in the discussion, of course.

In the future, I'd like to expand this to include writing contests.

Now, a few rules to observe, just to make sure that stories aren't banished to OOC with this thread:

• Before being published in the bookstore, the story must be reviewed for basic quality assurance.
• All stories must take place in or before the 1920s-30s, as a suggestion/requirement suggested to me by HelpDesk, in order to still count as 'RP.'
• The story must obey all game rules for writing.
• Anyone involved with managing the MBC is are not permitted to enter any writing contest sponsored or run by the MBC.
