Gracie giggled and leaned against her desk, "Only this group of deranged lunatics would think burning a building down was fun." She said to him. She picked up the keys to the restaurant, "Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling hungry. Shall we go get a bite to eat and drink the rest of my stock?"

The Courier chuckled at @Gracie's words. "Oh we aren't just interested in burnin' the buildin' down. We would also be clearin' it of all the valuables so ya don't lose anythin' in the fire. That's my job before we torch the place." he tells Gracie with a gentle pat on her back. "Ya still have some food in there do ya?"

She nodded her head, "Kitchen should be pretty well stocked." She told him as she headed towards the door with the group following. As they made their way down the strip she said to Curry, "Now, I know how you love a good five-finger discount," she pointed a finger at him, "But if you take any of my things, I will make your life very uncomfortable." she told him.

Joe chuckled appreciatively at Gracie's comments.

"Ya gotta watch that one, if it's not bolted down he is likely to try lifting it."

Report Post Tip

She quickly did a mental inventory of anything that might be in there that she wouldn't want Curry to keep. With a sigh, she said to Joe, "Well, I know where to find him, at least." she told him. "Promise to hold him in place while I beat him up if he misbehaves?" she asked him with a grin.

Joe smirked and chuckled

"Ya got a deal darlin"

Joe then looked over at Curry

"I'd be careful if I were you - this one has some serious spunk."

Report Post Tip
The Courier smirks. "Yeah, like I'd stick around if I wanted to lift anythin' from here. Besides, I promised Merci this'll be a clean job, so I'll be handin' over the items I rescue to Gracie. No strings attached." He then consults his pocket watch. "Now shall we proceed or do we want to bicker some more o'er how some handsome thief tried to burgle yer beloved restaurant?"
Report Post Tip

Gracie snorts, "Where do you think we are?" she asked Curry as she stopped outside a building with a large sign that read "The Saving Grace" on to front of it. "I suppose you're to be forgiven, you weren't here for the grand opening." she told him before she sighed, "God, that was a fun night." she said glancing back at where Merci was walking with the others, "Alright Joe, you  are in charge of drinks. I'll get some food started." she said to them as she pulled her keys out of her purse and unlocked the door. Flicking the lights on she looked around the place, "Curry, you can start packing things up. out here." she said looking round, "Although there shouldn't be too much." she admitted to him.

Joe nodded and made his way over to the bar. Doing a quick mental count he pulled seven glasses from below the bar and lined them up. Looking at the many bottles of liquor he noticed a bottle he recognized as one of Merci's wonderful moonshines. Grabbing the bottle he poured a triple measure into each glass and noticed the slight hint of peaches.

Grabbing one of the glasses he motioned to the rest of the crew to gather round

"I propose a toast - to Gracie, a great doctor and a great friend - I mean come on, how many friends allow you to get drunk and set a bonfire in their restaurant?"

Just then Stormwaver walked in, slightly out of breath and smiled sheepishly at everyone.

"Sorry I'm late. I forgot where the place was and I had to ask for directions. Did I miss anything?"

Report Post Tip

Kathryn walks in just in time to hear Joe's toast.

"I'll drink to that."

She walks over to Grace and pats her reassuringly on the back leaning and whispering "Sorry I'm late" before accepting a glass of her own.

Merci waves @Stormwaver in. "C'mon in! You haven't missed anything, we just got here ourselves. Joe's tending and Curry's packing up the valuables. The rest of us are throwing a meal together...grab a drink and pick a duty," she says. "Although, if you know how to make cheesecake, you'll be my new best friend," she adds with a wink.

While the ladies were busy chatting, The Courier was examining the structure of the restaurant along with @Joe_Scalise. "That is sturdy construction, that is." he told Joe in a crestfallen voice. "She spent a good amount o' money buildin' this place. Nothin' short o' a gas explosion will shake her." He shrugs. "Ah well, I guess we can put that off till we're done eatin' eh?"

Report Post Tip

Joe nodded sagely to The_Courier

"Agreed, I think the best thing to do will be to loosen one of the pipes going into the stoves and let it fill the place up with gas. The only question then is how to best ignite it without getting any of us roasted at the same time. I think the best way may be to simply bust a light bulb on the far side of the restaurant away from the kitchen. By the time the gas reaches it the rest of the place should be full enough to cause a nice boom. Will take a while to fill the place but should be effective unless you can think of something better in which case I'm all ears because mine will take a while."

Report Post Tip
The Courier scratches his chin thoughtfully at Joe's idea. "I was thinkin' o' leavin' a live wire in the kitchen, once we let the gas out. The power'll be turned off while everyone else leaves the joint. Once that's done, I'll turn the power back on and we wait for the explosion. We just need the place to be torched. Once the gas goes off in the kitchen, the fire'll spread to the rest o' the place."

He looks inquiringly at Joe. "That way nobody'll be in danger. Well except me perhaps, but I can take care o' meself."
Report Post Tip

Joe sat quietly for a moment as he thought about The_Courer's plan.

"That would definitely get the job done - just be sure you are careful. Once that kitchen fills with gas it's going to be an inferno waiting to happen, you don't want to be anywhere near it when it goes up."

Report Post Tip

The Courier chuckles darkly. "O' course. I don't plan to be served on the menu any time soon." he tells Joe with a wink as he walks back towards the rest of the group.

Merci took her drink into the kitchen and set to work making the only things she knew by heart...garlic noodles and french bread. She split loaves and buttered them, smearing crushed garlic along the length of the bread and sprinkling some parsley on it before putting them in the oven to toast. Setting a large pot to boil, she adds a splash of olive oil and hops on the counter to wait.

"So. @Gracie . You and Joe? You two have some chemistry...are you gonna do something about it?" she asks, hiding behind her wineglass as she smiles.

Report Post Tip

Kathryn followed Merci and Grace into the kitchen, where she did the only part of cooking she was good at: drinking wine. Curious, she looked at Gracie to see how she'd answer Merci's question.

Report Post Tip

Gracie had been chopping up some vegetables for a salad because as a doctor she had hoped someone would eat it. At Merci's question, she shoved a few sliced red bell peppers in her mouth and mumbled a, "I dunno." while she felt her face go completely red. She picked up her wine that she had brought in and took a few large drinks before glancing at Merci and then Kathryn. They were both still staring at her, damn it. "What?" she said after she made a show of swallowing the mouthful of food. "I don't know! I mean... I wish I did, but it's early." she sighed, "Worse comes to worse I can also seduce Finn..." she said grinning at Kat, "Best hiring choices you've ever made." she said with a nod.
