Joey_Cesari walks down the street smoking a cigar until he comes to a corner that is ideal for talking to a mass crowd. He steps up to it and finishes his cigar before he begins to speak.

Hello everyone! I am Joey_Cesari and I have come here to share a story or well whatever you want to call it with you all. I'm new to speaking in front of a crowd but wanted to give it a shot.

There comes a time in every Mafioso’s life when he or she must decide if this is the life for them. With this I mean do you really want to continue down the road of crime and to serve your Boss. Most of the time you have to decide this before you earn your button. This is because usually once you earn your button and are a full member of your family then your boss doesn’t look kindly when you just up and leave and in most cases you will be shot. This all ties into Omerta, that sacred code of silence in our lives and with that the fact that if you leave your family you may no longer feel the need to hold that code of silence thus you may spill the secrets of your past family, putting them in jeopardy.

On one side you can continue to walk the path of crime and serve your Boss, earning your button and going even further then that. This could possibly one day end with you having your own family or in some cases even your own city if you can become a Godfather. This is not an easy path to walk, it’s a very dangerous life with death waiting around every corner, but if you do succeed the power and the wealth can be beyond your dreams. There is a drawback even with success though, and that is that all power, sooner or later, comes to an end.

On the other hand, before earning your button you could decide that this is not the life for you and you could try and leave your family and start a new life somewhere else. This is not an easy thing to do because the Bosses usually still even if your not a high ranked member like it when you leave. In the case that you are able to talk to your Boss and get them to agree that you can leave then you better scram as soon as possible before you get shot by some random shooter for not being sponsored anymore.

Now is the time for you to decide which life you want. Do you want money and power or do you want to bust your back doing manual labor for little pay for the rest of your life.

I for one choose to work hard for my family and my Boss, and try to work my way up through the ranks.

Joey_Cesari then pulls another cigar from his jacket pocket and lights it as he steps back from the corner and waits to hear from the passer-bys.

-Prophet- listens to what the man has to say, he takes a drag of his cigar,"Interesting," he says releasing the smoke in his mouth.

"This thing of ours, It's for life... You don't pick up and leave even if you haven't earned your button." -Prophet- lifts his cigar, "This cigar here has more chance of killing me, then me leaving my family. Getting into a family is an honour and just coz' you don't have a button yet don't mean you pack your bags and skip town, no... we are brothers in arms, Siamo dei fratelli nelle braccia." -

-Prophet- then sits back and sees what other people have to say enjoying his cigar fresh from Spain.

Well,Joey, My friend.We have decided that the lifestyle of crime is right for us the moment we enter a Family,regardless of getting your button.Even mere associates like you and me are bound to Omerta.We too are honour bound and obligated to work for our Boss even if you wanted to leave this life,the point is you can't.You will be shot down in five or six days.So,Even before an associate earns his button,he is bound to La Cosa Nostra till he dies.

Well you are both right for most cases, but I did mention that in the case that you are able to talk to your boss and get his or her permission to leave then you better scram quick. I know that this doesn’t happen very often but in some rare cases. Anyway I do respect both of your opinions and I am sorry if I didn’t say clearly enough.

Joey_Cesari then steps back and takes a seat, pulls out a cigar and begins to smoke it while waiting to hear from more people.

After hearing a few responses, Uncle_Al pauses to consider them. Seeing that no one is sharing their thoughts, Uncle_Al steps up to speak.

The answer is of course to go on with this life. This life offers you protection, income, company and a home. To even live until today you have to thank your boss. There are people out there who die as a result of this path they choose and they ought to be respected. I feel that once you are mixed up in this business, there is no turning back.

You will be lucky if you have a boss that is willing to let you leave. Entering or leaving a family should not be taken lightly and I think that there are few or no leaders who are like that. Still, leaving is not an option. There will be some point of time later on when you regret leaving, or when you find that you have to go back because you need help from your boss.

Uncle_Al pauses for a while, then decides then he is done with what he wants to say. He steps back into the crowd, waiting for more responses.

I agree with Uncle_Al...This thing of Yours is For Life (I say of Yours b/c im not yet a made man) your either in or out...no going back me personally...I would wack anyone who had the audacity to come to me asking for "permission" to leave.....Even to ask that question is a slap in the face to your leader and all Your other associates and partners......

the only way to gaurentee survivel if your asking for an out is to be ready to retire after long dedicated service.
