| 2017 is a lot scarier than you think. | Started by: Salvadore on Mar 25, '17 02:42 |

2016 has had it's up's and down's. It was a year full of great memories for some and some of the worst for others and maybe a bit of both for those one percen. A year added to the history books nevertheless. However, with only a quarter of a year in and I am already extremely apprehensive of what is to come throughout the next nine months. At 09:00 PST, January 20th 2017. President Donald Trump was sworn in to Presidency of the United States of America. Millions upon millions of people had voted to essentially help 'Make America Great Again'. He had advocated for many policies throughout his campaign and some may raise their eyebrows due to his style and manner of how he ran his campaign. Nevertheless, it worked. But many of those policies had offended many people, many religions and many nations. Some of those policies have been blocked, some haven't got passed for even his own healthcare bill which he decided to withdraw after not getting enough support in congress. I'm not here to bash Mr. Donald Trump, far from it. I actually respect how he went from having '0' political background and being an incredibly successful businessman to being the leader of the free world sitting in the one of the most powerful offices in the world, if not 'The'. But it stops there for me. I'm from London. So American politics shouldn't be something I hear about every-day. I'm not going to go into some of the things that have made headline news due to Trump. But it's been pretty eye-watering. However, we have the secretary of state Mr. Rex Tillerson, who made a pretty tough speech about North-Korea rejecting the proposed plans to freeze it's nuclear and missile programs, claiming that their may have to be a 'New Approach'. With possible military action not being taken out of the equation. This then invoked for the Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr. Wang Yi, asking the U.S. to be 'Cool-Headed' about North Korea. The Chinese? We then have Mr. Rex Tillerson deciding to skip a NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) ministerial meeting in order to go to a 'Group of 7' meeting. Where both are seen to be extremely important. A NATO meeting is pretty 'meaning and/or symbolic'. (Don't worry guys i'm not just reporting the news here i'm going somewhere with this). But is the 'Group of 7' meeting being held in Italyhis 'real' agenda? Nobody knows, as he's scheduled (only up until a few hours ago) to go to Russia. Russia? Hmm.. Background history: Rex Tillerson was awarded the 'Russian Order of Friendship' which is the highest order bestowed upon foreign citizens. Now, he used to be the CEO of ExxonMobil. Why is this relevant? Well.. The U.S. had placed significantly heavy sanctions on the Russians, which basically screwed up a deal in the hundreds of billion of dollars. With oil prices in the shit for Russia, this deal meant a lot to them. Some figures are quoted to be as high as $500 Billion dollars. Now, it was only until a couple of hours ago that the Secretary of State had renounced his trip of going to Russia but isn't that almost like too contradictory or almost too much of a coincidence to the FBI investigation that's going into Trump, his campaign etc. having Russian Ties. Did Rex Tillerson think okay.. you know what a bit close to home.. or did Trump phone him and say listen mate it might look a bit dodgy if you decide to skip an uber important meeting to sort out other agendas. Just go to the damned meeting. BIG.. BIG.. Question marks there. After speaking to a lot of friends at work about this topic we came up with a hypothesis that if and it's a BIG IF, IF Trump and Rex actually have ties to Russia. Then we can conclude that Russia had helped place Trump in a place of power and what better position than being POTUS. Make Rex, your Sec. of State to maintain relationship and contact. Being a diplomat that travels to other nations what better excuse to be able to meet Putin or other inner-politicians without a bat of an eyelid. And Putin clearly trusting him because he's already given him the highest award possible. Rex already being the Ex C-Suite Exec at ExxonMobil who happen to have a deal in the hundreds of billion of dollars that can help boost their economy by getting Trump to lift the sanctions. But it's a theory. A little something we came up with today. A terrorist attack happened in my hometown not too long ago. And this was horrible. It took sweet, innocent lives that didn't need to be taken and there was no agenda. There was no message. There was.. nothing. And that's what angered us so much, made us hurt so much. But our country and it's people held their chins high, we made our prayers to those that are suffering and forever keep them in our prayers. And i'm extremely proud of how brave we are as a nation. And the reason I mention this is because there is so much tension in different parts of the world. All over the world. But this is all too scary. So much is happening in such little time. Have a real think about all the things going on around the world. A Russian lawmaker, who fled Russia to go to Ukraine, who was an avid Putin critic, was assassinated in broad daylight in Kiev, Ukraine on Thursday. The Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, had called it an 'Act of State Terrorism' by Russia. I mean guys, it's only March. And i'm praying to god that things begin to wind down. And where we might not live in a perfect world, where there are no wars and no this and no that. But the truth in the matter is. This is an incredibly scary time to be in. And I think everyone should have a constant general idea of what is happening. Not listening to the 'Fake news' lol. But, to just be aware of what is going on in the world. As this will have an effect on our lives one way or another. Thank you. (Btw, i'm sorry if I have offended any one. I had only meant to post what is happening and have added my opinion of what is to come. But i'm also interested as to hearing some of your opinions on this matter.) |

Can't deny, it's certainly a very historical time to be alive. |
