| Crew, Forts & Comms when a Crew Leader falls | Started by: AlbertoTomba on Mar 31, '17 06:59 |

Maybe it has been suggested more often, if so: Sorry for that. Situation:
At this point.. Why would the forts be gone all of a sudden? Why can't there be communication anymore between the remaining (active) members? It doesn't make sense to me. A crew can still have an organisation if a leader falls. Isn't that also what the RHM is for, to take care of the family if a leader has fallen? I would suggest some limitations; for example people that weren't online when the CL fell can't join C-chat anymore, and members staying outside of district of HQ can't get HQ defense bonus anymore, plus no new members can be invited anymore. But the crew and their lines of communication as they were should continue and the forts should still provide safety for those in it. Imho, this would be more realistic, plus it would require more, bigger guns, to do a wipe-out as we have seen so often lately. |

Can't say I agree with this to be honest. The whole thing about HQ Forts is...well, they are HeadQuarters for your Crew. Without your (in this scenario) recently dead CL, you're...not IN a crew. Your reputation and sway immediately drop, and almost all business negotiations and dealings would be halted. You wouldn't be inside of your HeadQuarters realistically if things were going to shit anyway, as you'd likely be out in the Streets fighting - right? I can't agree with the continuation of Crew Chat, or HQ protection, when there are multiple avenues (IRC, MobMail, a predetermined Back Alley link, WhatsApp, Facebook....) to continue communications with the people you need to, and the realism behind the fact that your ass wouldn't be sitting comfortably in the HQ if there were a war going on. |

Thanks for your reply, TheDonBot. You a.o. are suggesting social media for forms of communication. Personally, I would prefer to have the game in-game mainly. Call me old-fashioned :) What you say about the crew discontinuing, that is exactly what I would want to see changed. Why should the crew disappear when it's leader falls? You are in the crew of the leader. He dies. Would make more sense if you were in a crew without a leader than in no crew at all then.
I agree, therefore: restrictions: No new recruits, perhaps lose drug fronts and stuff.. |

I will concede on the part about Fort protection, to the extent that if this were considered, I would suggest a not-so-long time period for it, and that you be required to remain in your Home District. [As I personally hope to see Fort protection soon only valid in your Home District, as opposed to Home City.] "MobMail" "Pre-determined Back-Alley" Those are two very good and old-school methods of communication in my opinion though, so I can't really budge on my view there. |
