In this world of ours we hear many a label applied...we know the families that spawn the same old same old words publically...we see regimes come and go... Looking at our family journals and around at what we see and hear I wonder what people's thoughts are on how we live authentically in our place in history here? Whether we have become a closed community that has separate rules that do not always apply to our time? Of course I understand our way of life is not an open book or openly discussed. However the mafia from my journals anyway appears to be evolving - maybe in a way that history would not recognise as accurate? Or that we have yet to learn a new way of things? I am open to both! For the haters out there - this is not salty not designed to be provocative in a negative way - it is simply a toe in the water to hear what people think...this used to be what the streets were for after all. Agree / disagree - get drunk and fall over, all are welcome! |

Drunky gets drunk and falls over. Tries to get himself up and drags himself onto the soapbox.
"Thanks for bringing this to the streets Betty-Boo. I'm not sure I have the answer anyone is looking for - but I do have a few thoughts on the matter:
1) Mobsters are clever, and perhaps have evolved past the traditional ways of our era. I'm not going to suggest it's right or wrong. I think I'm just going to accept that it is what it is. 2) Mob mentality prevents sweeping and drastic immediate change. Here in these parts if we are indeed trying to have a paradigm shift - it simply doesn't happen overnight..."
Drunky discretely (because you know - The Volstead Act prevents us from being obvious about it) pulls a flask of moonshine out of his jacket and sneaks a swig to take the edge off...
"That said - I'm for the most part at the point where I can't be arsed to change the direction of these streets. I come out, I say my piece so people know that I am here and then I go back to the business of my family - because to me that's honestly what it's all about. Good day to you ma'am."
Drunky snaps to and remembers his place in society. He falls sideway off of the soapbox and then goes to find an alley to take a piss in. |
