The Ride to Hell Started by: Malice on Apr 08, '17 17:07

Malice stared at the door of the bar. She had a short walk in the dark to it as she pressed her hand on the door looking over her shoulder. With that she opened the door. Staring into the run down bar she walked on in and looked around. Seeing no familiar face in the bar, until she turned looking at the man who helped her hours before. She walked on over to the corner he was in and smiled.

"Evening Roper!" She grinned happily and leaned her head to the left. "Mind if I sit with you?" She would wait for his answer. If he told her no she would find a different seat. If he allowed her she would sit down across from him and smile. "I got a proposition for you hun..."

The night was quiet on the outside, the sound in the bar made it hard for eavesdroppers from listening. "How about helping with a truck raid?" She would lean back with a soft smile curious for his answer. "You would get half the cut." She seemed persistent to have him along.

Roper was relaxing with his drink in the corner of the bar when Malice came looking for him. He waved her next to him when she asked to sit down at his table. He listened to her proposal without saying a word and raised an eyebrow at her when she mentioned a truck raid. He placed his drink back on the table and proceeded to say "A truck raid? That's quite the step up from the little shop job we did a little while ago" He raised his glass again and took another swig before saying "Say I'm interested. Do you have the job planned out ahead or do you need a hand getting everything organized?" He asked "Fill me in on all the details so far"

She stared at him and let her smile face till she was serious. With a soft sigh she pulled out a small notepad containing some writing. She scratched her cheek and looked at the note. "I do need some help planing this out. So far I know there is a large shipment coming in of booze and cigars..." She leaned back and spoke quietly. "Its a small time gangster, by the sounds of it who will be driving it with maybe one or two more people with them... Any idea how we can pull this off?" She looked Roper and tapped a finger on the table quietly as she thought to herself.

Report Post Tip

Roper looked down at her notepad she shared with him and quickly scanned it and nodded. He asked Malice for her pen and started to write down notes while explaining them to her "Alright. You've done some good footwork already" He complimented her legwork "We're gonna to know what road they will be traveling and see if they go down any secluded roads. If we can get them down an abandoned road we can set an ambush, If not we'll have to do a riskier hijacking"

Roper paused to have another swig of his drink and then carried on explaining "We're also gonna need to know if the two guys are going to be packing heat or if they're just working stiffs and we need to know if the guys operating this racket have paid for police protection on that truck. Lastly, We're gonna need a few friends to help move the goods. I own a place near here" He wrote the address on the notepad "We can take the truck there."

Once Roper wrote down the final bits. He turned to face Malice "The split is good, However, I suggest a 35/35/20/10 split" He headed off Malice's rebuttal with "35 for me, 35 for you, 20 for the boss and 10 for the crew we need. The boss is gonna want a cut when he catches wind of this. So relax" Roper polished off the last of his whiskey and said, "Anything else you want to add in Miss?"

Report Post Tip

She nodded and smiled at the compliment. Listening and watching as he made notes.

"So let me get this straight." She took a mental note as she spoke...

"Get more info on the route and the men. If heat will be packed.... Hmm.... Sounds like I will have a interesting day." She could not help but laugh and look to him when he spoke about the split. Before she could respond she nodded.

"Understood. If you want... We can meet back here or your place to discuss the information gathered tomorrow around midnight."

She waited on what was going to be said and crossed her arms looking forward to this job.

Report Post Tip

Roper nodded as she recounted the plan back at him.

"We should draw the final plans at my place, It's down 7th street. You'll be able to spot my apartment with the rather obvious bike out front" He told her laughingly and then started to get up out of his corner seat.

"Don't worry about the crew, I know a few people that can help get the product moved when it hits the warehouse. Just focus on getting the information on the truck & the route. If that's everything I'll be heading out to make a few phone calls. I'll see you tonight with what you gathered miss" After saying that Roper stood up and gave the man behind the bar a nod and made his way towards the exit.

I was hanging out on the South Side.  I don’t know why I like this bar I just do I thought to myself.  It’s not the best looking place but the drinks are solid and the people are nice even though you aren’t from their hood. It was a little quiet on the streets and not very much going on in the bar. I looked over in the corner and saw some of Kinoko ‘s people.  Malice some call her Spitfire and a dude they called Roper. I had seen him around. Looked like Roper was getting ready to leave so needed to talked to him so stopped him.

Hello there Roper may I have a few minutes of your time.

Roper looked at me a little strange.  I was hoping he wasn’t thinking I was trying to come on to him but he said yes.

My name is Roxie I am from the North Side, Erin is the Boss lady there. We have been tracking a heavy shipment worth a lot of money.  We were hoping it was going to arrive in North Side but we now know it’s going to be shipped to a warehouse at the airport here.  I don’t know if you heard about it and don’t want to invade on you territory but was wondering if we can get in on the action.  We already had informants at the airport that would help us get in and out and have some good man power.   But if you already have it staked out in the hands of your people we understand.

What’s do you think?

Roper momentarily frowned when he heard Roxie's proposal and then let out a heavy sigh.

"So it looks like we weren't the only ones to find out about this little haul then," Roper said soberly "If you fellas across Chicago know about this truck. I doubt we'd be the only ones." He extended his hand out towards RoxieMalone "Pleasure to meet you, Roxie and yes. We'd graciously accept your assistance with this little score. Although if news can travel this quickly. I doubt I can call it little anymore."

Once Roper had shaken Roxie's hand he reached into his jacket and pulled out a pen of his own and a scrap of paper and proceeded to write down his address and hand it to her "This is my place, Me and my associate will be meeting there tomorrow. Midnight, look for the bike outside. Bring any information you have on the trucks and any friends you want to bring in with you on this job"

Roper started to walk away from Roxie and called behind to her "If anyone asks, We don't know each other alright?"

Report Post Tip

Malice had up and left right after Roper stood to leave. She was already starting on her small list to do. Seeing from the corner of her eye she got curious but made no moves to listen in and left. Not minding that she would be out till late she scampered on out into the night. Rain starting to fall as a light mist. She muttered to herself "Lets see.... Defiantly need the route..."

She kicked the rocks as she walked heading back towards where the men were talking earlier about the truck. Needing to wait until noon she sat in the alley and waited staring out at the dead street of the night. She figured if it was earlier she would need to get the info and run. Around late morning, she was waiting in the shadows listening to a few people chattering and taking notes.

  • East bound route.
  • Three men possibly five guarding it.
  • No police escort.
  • Packing heat.

She waited to see if there was any other information that she needed before heading off to the address Roper had provided. Ready to get a plan set up for that night when the truck arrives.

Report Post Tip

I said right but was a little perplexed about what had just been said.   What I wanted to do was establish a good rapport with Roper.  His Boss Kinoko and my people go way back.  They had a mutual trust with each other and I wanted to build the same type of bond.  From what he said "So it looks like we weren't the only ones to find out about this little haul then," Roper said soberly "If you fellas across Chicago know about this truck. I doubt we'd be the only ones." Surely we weren’t talking about the same thing.  This cargo wasn’t the ordinary merchandise we were used to. This cargo was arriving by plane, would be well guarded, requiring inside help and experience people to pull this heist off.  Thinking to myself there’s still was a little time to get this all planned out.  I made the initial contact. I will arrange for another meeting with Roper.

Report Post Tip

Roper spent a good part of his day clearing out the back room in his old apartment. He had made his phone calls and managed to bring on a few more hands when it came to shifting the product when they got it safely back to the warehouse. He had a few chairs facing the wall which he attached a map of the city roads. He also acquired some "tools of the trade" which he neatly stacked up on a table near one of the other walls.

Once he was done he sat in one of the chairs facing the wall and pulled out a cigarette from his jacket and decided to light up and relax a bit before the others arrived with the information.

Report Post Tip

Malice walked quietly from the spot she stood to gather the information she was to collect. Lazily taking her time as she thought it over in her head. "I wonder if he managed to get some others together for this." She looked to the sky noticing some clouds overhead she sighed. Tucking the note into her skirts waist band she moved to the address. "Better to be early.... Need to discuss this a bit more."

Rain had started to fall as her raven black hair became plastered to frame her face. Walking faster she headed to the address and came to a stop at the door. Stepping close she knocked three times and waited as the rain fell drenching her. She did not mind the idea of waiting but the rain was a bother to her. Inching under the little overhand to try and stay somewhat dry she watched the street as it was silent.

Report Post Tip

Roper took the last puff of his cigarette when he heard three distinct knocks at his door. He proceeded to put out his cigarette in the ashtray near him and get up and walk over to his front door and open it to discover a rather drenched Malice staring at him.  "Pretty bad weather out there today by the looks of it." He said to her before welcoming her inside and leading her towards the little room he had set up in the back.

"Feel free to put your jacket anywhere Malice." He told her and gestured around the room "Heats on full blast, You'll be able to get warm soon" Roper sat down in his seat and gestured towards the map on the wall "So what did you find out about our little van?"

Report Post Tip

Malice stared up at Roper when the door was opened. With a smile she laughed chilled from the rain she spoke as she was welcomed inside. "Yea just a little bit." She followed to the back room, she took off her blouse wearing a black tank-top underneath and walked to the map. Pulling the semi wet notes from her waistband she spoke.

"So it seems out little friends who we need to catch are heading east bound to Detroit. Heading out tomorrow.. night." She used her free handto push her hair back out of her face before pointing to the road she was speaking about. " There should be about three to five men guarding it without police escort to hide under the pigs nose." She thought and looked at her notes again, "Three should be packing heat but cant be sorry so better to be ready for a all out fire." She tried to keep it summed down and looked to him. "What do you suppose?"

Report Post Tip

Roper listened and played with his beard while he thought for a minute. "That doesn't leave us much time to get things going but I can come up with a few ideas" Roper stood up and took a pen from the table near the wall and walked over to the map on the wall and drew a circle on one street and then another circle of the freeway running out of the city going towards Detriot.

Roper then drew a line going to the street circle and labeled it one and proceeded to explain "I can imagine the driver would want to keep things low key and will be taking the back-routes away from the public eye. So we can set two types of trap here" Roper drew 2 more lines come out the one "First, we can catch them on my bike and you can shoot from the back. Killing anyone in the front. This does have its risks though. If there is any of them in the back we can easily get caught off-guard"

Roper checked back on Malice to find she was still listening to him "The second option is something I've seen called the two truck trick" He wrote this on the second line coming away from the one "The idea is when the van shows up I drive a van out of an alley and block the front and then you drive another van up behind them and completely block them in the road. When the drivers get out of the truck to argue. We hold them up, we can even bring extra men for added effect. The downside is it's more expensive and it's gotta be done quick before they catch on to what we are doing"

Roper then started to draw a line from the circle from the highway and labeled it two "This one is a little harder to pull off as it requires 5 drivers and 4 vans. The idea is we intercept the van on the freeway and block it in with the vans and bring it down to a halt. Deal with the people inside and then take it back to the warehouse. The obvious downside is that this would be done in the open and would require the most amount of men but it allows us to pick the time to attack"

Once Roper had finished explaining his ideas, he turned around to face Malice and waited for her ideas on his plans.

Report Post Tip

Malice watched as the map was marked up. Staring at the routes while listening to the options she nodded and ran it through her head. Rethinking the possibilities. Thinking of what he said she ran her fingers through her wet hair as she slowly warmed up. "Lets see... we cant wait to long on this.... but if we can that would be a good idea to have some hands in the help.

She looked at the line that was labeled one and spoke quietly as she thought aloud. "Say they do avoid the public sight and head down the back roads.... If we caught them on your bike..." She put her hands to her hips and thought to herself as she wondered quietly before continuing. "We would have a problem if they returned fire..." She shook her head. "The idea is to get away without much injuries. None is better."

She wondered about the so called two truck trick that he spoke about. Before speaking up. "The second idea would be better.... We just need to be careful, if we block them off on the road, we can open fire if they do not let us have what we are after...... If we end up opening fire we run a risk of men being injured or them getting away." She took a deep breath and breathed out thinking to herself. "Now.... It would be expensive but worth the effort to block them on the road."

She tapped her finger against the map and narrowed her golden colored eyes at the paper and spoke quietly. "That last one might be over doing... if they figure that they are followed by many vans we might not be able to stop them in time to get what we want." She turned to him and crossed her arms. "I personally like the two truck trick... we just need the man power. And the trucks."

She did think it over again while waiting for a answer.

Report Post Tip

Roper listens to Malice and crosses out the first option and after Malice has debated over the last option he crosses out the third option and nods and looks at the map.

"So that leaves the two truck trick then," Roper says confidently and walks over to the table by the wall and picks up a notepad and a pen and starts to scribble something down and when he is done he rips the paper off the pad containing the road of the ambush and a checklist of items and grabs a guitar case from the table and walks over to Malice and hands both of them to her.

"You're gonna need to source a truck and wait around the corner. I'll have a guy signal you to drive around when I'm ready. If you've got any associates I recommend tagging them along." Roper instructs Malice on the plan "I've also left you a present in that guitar case. It's all unmarked" Roper smiles at Malice "Need anything else before we get this show on the road? We don't have much time before they start moving the shipment"

Report Post Tip

Malice watched him cross out the two choices. Staring at the map she eyed the route quietly before listening to Roper. Her golden colored eyes staring at it before turning to look towards him.

"Lets hope it goes well." She watched him turn and go to a table to write some information down. She was given a guitar case and tilted her head confused and looked over the checklist with a nod reading it. "Whats in this?" She would lower herself to the ground and open the case to see what he was talking about.

"I'll get a truck, and meet you back here in half a hour." She closed the case after looking at what was given to her and went to go grab her damp blouse that was draped over the arm rest of a chair. Sliding it on she grabbed the list and the case and went on her way to get the truck. Reaching a guy she knew she spoke to him and asked if she could be lent a truck. And the man agreed without a question. She paid him a few hundred thousand for the lent truck and returned to the corner with the remainder of the stuff needed in the passenger seat. Waiting for the signal.

Report Post Tip

Minarika watched as a man rounded a corner. Suspicious activity was what caught her attention wanting to get her hands in on the fun.

Turning the corner after crossing the street she heard a gunshot and the sound of running feet. There was a van sitting against the curb, door partially open and blood spattered on the window. She peaked inside and stood shocked before shaking her head, and backing up. She knew the lady in the car. Unsure why she would be in there as a final resting place she turned staring towards the street pale faced. Knowing Roper would investigate if he heard the shot. If not someone else would find her there near the van.

The plans for their heist was spoiled.
