After a long day of work Jack struggles to carry all the bags of food into his kitchen in one trip. He was pleased to be an active member of the Dark Order. The work was hard and messy at times but the pay was considerable, enough to lead a very comfortable lifestyle. The men and women of Dark Order became like family to Jack. That's why he was pleased he made enough money in a short time to buy enough food to create an Easter Feast for Saxon, the crew and their families. It may seem odd to those that don't live the life but deep down even gangsters are God fearing men and woman and Holy days are a time for celebrating and a time for family and friends to come together and enjoy a meal and good company. One thing was for sure, no food would pass through anyone's lips until grace was said and then the feast would begin. Jacks first course is going to be cheese tortellini in a light chicken broth. There's nothing better to start a meal than a nice warm soup on a chilly spring day. The next course would be the antipasto. A big platter with sliced pepperoni, rolled prociutto carefully aound mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, capicola, cured olives and lupini beans. This was the course that got the conversation going. Antipasto is a large tasting plate; serve yourself, take small bites, chat and enjoy the company of everyone at the table. As the meal progresses there will be several empty wine bottles as everyone relaxes, tells jokes and talks about good times and the good old days growing up in the motherland. This is the type of gathering where a not a word of English is spoken. Mangia Amici! The main course preparation is time consuming but well worth the effort. The manicotti will be stuffed with the finest cheese, the meatballs will be formed and cooked to a light golden brown and placed in a big pot of sauce made from the freshest tomato's, garlic and other Italian spices. There will be hot sausage and sweet sausage and of course everyone's favorite rolled beef brociole. All simmered in a red sauce until all the flavors run through the meats and they are tender. The manicotti will be baked in the oven until warmed through and the cheese is melted and bubbly. This will be the point where everyone loosens their belts and corsets. More wine will be poured, the laughs will be more frequent and the voices will become louder. Everyone is stuffed but the aroma of the espresso brewing on the stove means it's desert time. As they sip their espresso out of their demitasse cups they fill their desert plates with canoli, angenette and pinoli cookies. The conversation is lively after all, this is what a holiday and being part of a crew is about. Good food , familyand good friends.
Suddenly out of nowhere a massive group of people storm the dinner and start shooting everyone. Bodies slumped over their half eaten desserts. Jack just sits there sipping on his espresso in disbelief.
