I was thinking since theirs alot of talk about how the practice of demoting your RHM or LHM or even one of your bosses/consigs. Their should be some sort've punishment, what I'm proposing is a very harsh rule I don't think it'll be very popular but on the off chance it is here it is:

When you demote one of your mobsters, their units go down with their rank. e.g. One of your bosses they have say 40/38 units, you demote them to i don't know let's say gangster? Their units go from 40/38 down to what a gangster would have 5 units. You get demoted to the rank of gangster you live like a gangster? Now it doesn't have to be just gangster rank it could work for all ranks:
wiseguy: 20
Earner:15
Goomba:10
Gangster:5

What I'm saying here is if your Don thinks your of gangster quality then your or gangster quality, your stripped of your reputation with the FBN and local dealers. They trust you less and you gotta work your way back up. I'd say this would stop everyone from using this un-ethical practice.

This is actually a great idea becuase it would add more rp because you should almost having nothing if you get demoted as most cl's don't demote for the fun of it.

Yeah I think you should get yourself one demotion, and you would know exactly what happens, and when you then you might have a laugh as well, when you read your post again after that demotion.

When you get demoted, you lose your units. Get demoted back to Thug, you're back to 5 units.

you do? thats good well it's not but they deserve i can't say i would know of personal expierence cause i never get on the bad side of my cl :)

Yeah I'll have to echo what everyone else has said, this is already in existence! Keep trying though.
