Trying a New Tactic in Tinsel Town Started by: Gracie on Apr 25, '17 08:59

Gracie left Kathryn's office in a rush. The woman had requested she set up a meeting with Conall as soon as possible to discuss his future within RP Inc. She stuck out her hand, waving down a cab as she wondered what on earth this job was going to entail. Once the cab stopped she got in and gave him directions to Scalises' in Downtown Los Angeles, where she figured Connal would be. She pulled out the paper with the notes she had written on it from her meeting with Kathryn and went over them one more time. It wouldn't do to be unprepared for what was about to happen.

She got to the office, paid the driver and slid out of the car. Heading inside she looked around, and spotting Conall walked over to him. "Come with me," she told him before heading to her office. She gestured for him to take a seat before doing the same. Putting her notes on the top of her desk, she looked at him, "So you've been with us a while, here and with RP Inc." She said, "I did mention that when we hired you, there'd be work for you to do outside of this building."

She glanced down at the pad of paper, "Unfortunately, this job isn't for Scalises, but rather for the future of RP Inc. I know that you're not averse to getting your hands dirty which is why I suggested you when Kathryn inquired about likely people willing to perform this task." She frowned at the notebook, “There is a high profile actress that we’re hoping to get to be a regular around Renford Productions,” she explained to him, “But at the moment she’s out of the limelight due to the fact that her former agent is blackmailing her.” She sighed and shook her head, “We’re going to need him taken care of,” she told him, “Does this sound like something you can take care of,” she asked, “I have more information, but if you’re not interested, then I can find someone else.” She said to him.

Conall followed Gracie into her office and sat down as instructed. Listening to her talk he knew this was his opportunity to make a name for himself with the crew, and the job was right up his alley. He far preferred hired gun work to petty theft so it didn't take him but a second in thought before he nodded at Gracie and said, "Let's hear the information, I'll make him sing a different tune or disappear." Conall scooted a bit forward on his seat and gave Gracie his full attention, he wanted to make sure he got all the details on the first run through.

Gracie nodded, expecting that to be his answer. "Right, I knew you were the right person to come to with this," she told him. "His name is Steven Ulen." she said to him, "He can normally be found in this bar," she paused to slide a piece of paper over with an address on it, "Drinking and bragging about all the gorgeous women he sleeps with." she rolled her eyes, "I'm going to need you to follow him home, get the pictures he has and destroy them." she looked down at the sheet of paper in front of her, "Oh, and also make sure at the end of it he won't be a problem for anyone else, got it?" she asked him. She folded her hands on top of the notebook and looked at him, "Any questions?" she asked him.

"No questions at all" Conall said taking the piece of paper folding it up and slipping it into his coat pocket. Standing he gave Gracie a bit of a wave and left her office. He had work to do, and a crime to plan. Sitting around talking wasn't going to get things done so off he went back to work. While Conall finished his day's work at Scalise's he planned the events for that evening. As usual just being around made sure no one tried anything stupid, but he understood his job there wasn't to start fights or kill people. He just had to look menacing to make sure people stayed honest. Looking menacing is easy enough when you have a gun holstered under your coat that people could clearly see from it's bulge.

When the day's work was done Conall headed for the door and hailed a cab giving the man directions to his apartment, he had a general game plan in mind but needed to read the address off the piece of paper Gracie had given him and scope out the place. First things first though he needed a drink. Pouring himself a small glass of whiskey he drank it while reading the address and contemplating his game plan. Polishing off the glass he got up and returned to the streets. Walking a few blocks from his apartment he hailed another cab and gave them direction to the bar Gracie indicated.

Arriving at the bar Conall made to go inside as the cabby drove off and then ducked around the side into the alley, he wanted to check for back exits in case his mark ducked and ran on him. Scoping out the area was always a good idea before making a hit. Walking through the alley he did indeed find a back entrance. With a bit of effort he shoved one of the garbage dumpsters up against the door making sure this route out was blocked and then headed back out and into the bar. He found a seat in the back corner that was dimly lit and ordered a bottle of whiskey and a glass. His intentions now was to appear like the town drunk while waiting for his mark to appear.

Didn't take the man too long, while Conall was on his second glass the man did indeed show up. Easy enough to recognize since he was loud and very egotistical. Conall was careful to spill whiskey now and again to make sure he looked sloppy drunk, when he figured the man was about ready to leave he stumbled out of the bar himself falling down a time or two on the way out. Once outside he moved down the street and around the corner hailing a cap. He paid the cab driver to park there out of sight of the bar and wait for him. Sure enough after about 10 minutes the man came out hailed his own cab and got in with his catch for the evening.

Conall followed the man back to his house making sure the cabby kept his distance. Once there he had the cabbie wait down the street and again paid him to stay put. Conall walked down the street slipped down the alleyway and came up the backside of the man's house. Noticing all the lights where off to the place except one he knew exactly where to go once inside. He just had to get inside without making any noise, this is where things get tricky for Conall since he's somewhat clumsy sometimes. He managed to slip in the back door but bumped his knee on something shortly afterwards. Letting out a curse under his breath he decided to wait a minute and let his eyes adjust. It wouldn't do to keep bumping into things and letting his mark get wind someone was in the house.

Sneaking through the house he made his way slowly towards what he would guess was the man's bedroom given all his bragging and the fact he brought a lady home with him. As he arrived outside the door with light underneath he knew this was the place, he could hear a woman moaning and the occasional grunts of his mark. Not wanting to keep the man waiting for his funeral, he pulled his gun out cocked the hammer and kicked open the door. Taking quick aim in case Steven had a gun stashed near by he put a bullet in the man's head splattering blood and brains all over the pretty thing riding on top. Conall almost chuckled to him self, go figure the lazy ass let the woman do all the work. The girl screamed and then whimpered at him begging for her life. Conall wasn't a big fan of killing women, but he also didn't want any loose ends tonight. The latter dictated he did what he didn't really want to do, he pulled the trigger and watched as her lifeless body fell off the man and onto the floor.

Having accomplished the hit Conall made for the front door. He was almost there when he remembered Gracie said there where pictures to get rid of, wouldn't do to only complete half the job. However he no longer had anyone to indicate where the pictures where at, time to improvise... Conall made his way to the garage and found a gas can, making his way back through the house he left a trail of gas covering as much area as he could and then leading out the back. He light a match and watched the gas trail start the house on fire. If the pictures where here they would surely burn with the place.

Having finished his job Conall went down the alleyway waved the cabbie over and gave him directions to a business in the complete wrong direction from his apartment. Once there he walked a few blocks and hailed another cabbie, finally he was on his way home to catch some sleep. It was a late night and Conall was really tired after all the work and drinks he'd done this day. Conall showed up a few hours late to work the next day and immediately went to Gracie's office. Knocking on the door he let himself in as she waved at him and closed the door behind him. "Job's done" he said to her nonchalantly. "Burned the house down, left no witnesses." Conall still looked pretty tired, but indicated he was ready to resume duties at the entrance if need be.

Gracie looked up when the knock at the door sounded, "Ah, Conall." she said as she looked him over. The doctor in her took over and she shook her head, "No, please take the next few days off. You've earned it." she told him with a smile. "I will let Kathryn and Merci know that the job is done. Thank you, at some point, I'm going to want to hear the whole story, but I promise I'll buy you a few drinks first," she told him. "Now go on, go home and get some sleep.," she said before waving him out the door.

Once he was gone she picked up the phone and called Kathryn, "It's done." she said before listening to the woman on the other end. "Yes, absolutely," she told her. "I'll talk to Merci about it." she nodded a few times and said, "Mmmhm" a lot before finally hanging up the phone. She glanced down at the notebook on the deck and chuckled, it had a name, an address and the rest was just doodles and the words "Make something up!" written on it. She tore the page out and crumpled it up before tossing it into the garbage next to her desk.
