New York Port: Military Surplus Started by: Dubliner on May 03, '17 18:22

Pseudonym had called a meeting with Dominick and Dubliner. He explained that the port we had raided a few weeks earlier had a warehouse storing US Military Surplus. Several light tanks, military trucks, automatic weapons, and pistols from WWI were being stored and frozen for the past several years because of bureaucratic paperwork in Washington. Politics. Pseudonym explained that a Military lobbying group has been pushing for the guns to be moved to the border of Mexico since the recent influx of Mexican military forces gathering on the Mexican-US border. It's only a matter of time before forces show up to transport the weapons and vehicles. Pseudonym explained that the guns needed to be moved to a warehouse across the Hudson in New Jersey. He paid off some dockworkers and they arranged for the weapons to be stored without a paper trail.

Dubliner and Dominick stepped out of the office and moved towards the front door.

"What do you think? Launch tonight?" Dubliner asked.

"Cover of night? Sounds like the best time to do this. We'll need to make sure the locomotive carrying everything up and running which could take about 5-10 minutes."

"I'm not an engineer." Dubliner said.

"You will be tonight!" Dominick shot back.

The two men stepped out the front door and made their way to the vehicle they'd be taking.

"You wanna drive?" Dubliner asked.

Report Post Tip

Dominick had heard of a facility being used at the New York Port for housing military weapons. However, they could never pin the exact location. Just as news surfaced, it seemed the arsenal was moved to another location. Without a doubt, the place was well guarded and information was kept hush. The weaponry would come in use though, extra fire power and equipment that could be resold or used in future operations. One thing was clear, The PwNY express had staked a strong interest in obtaining the equipment and were about to go to lengths to obtain them.

Dominick paused as he stepped outside of the head quarters with Dubliner . Fuck. It was that same car that Leah had smashed, front bumper hanging slightly.

"I'd say Leah drives, but hell, we both know how that worked out last time, remember?" Dominick chuckled softly before glancing over his shoulder, you never knew where Leah would pop out from!

Dominick shook his head some.

"If you're not down with the engineering of the locomotive, I'm sure we could throw Leah in there. No left turns, right turns, just one handle. Up means go, down means slow and stop. Easy enough, right? Fuck. I hope so anyways."

He'd curl his bottom lip, clenching it between his teeth, he knew better than to put Leah at the helm of controlling an engine but he needed her to do it!

"Yeah, fuck it, I'll drive. Let's wait for Leah, she should be coming out here in a bit. I asked her to meet me. We could always use the extra bit of help. We've got a few others out and about too, we'll see if they'll join us at some point. Never know if we'll get caught up in a pinch, know what I mean?"

Leah was sitting about the HQ, trying to figure out what she was going to do. The boredom was setting in, it wasn't often she had down time like this and she didn't like it. She sat there and just pondered and pondered, until a great idea popped into her head.

"I should go bother Dominick, yeah that's what I will do."

Was the thought that popped into her head. She got up from her chair and that's when it hit her. She did have something to do, she looked at the old grandfather clock that stood majestically in the common area.

"Awe Shit!" She muttered under her breath. If she didn't hurry up, she was going to be late and that was just something that wasn't acceptable. As fast as she could she grabbed her bag and sprinted out of the HQ, she bumped shoulders with Harvey on the way out. Turning her head around as she was still making her way to the door she looked at Harvey.

"Sorry Harvey but I'm in a hurry."

Without letting him respond she burst out of the door. She was preparing herself for for when she ran through the door, with her luck there was going to be someone standing right in front of the door. A quick flash of an event that occurred a week prior popped in her head. Poor Forest, he just never saw her coming. It's a good thing he isn't a small guy otherwise it may have hurt a bit more then it did. Luckily though for her there was no one there and even better luck for her zDiamonDz was just stepping out of a cab.

"Hold that cab for me!"

zDiamonDz did just that, she held that door opened until Leah jumped in.

"Thank you hun, would love to chat but I've got to go."

Leah turned to the driver.

"To the ports and step on it, the quicker you get there the bigger the tip I will give you."

The cab driver's eye's lite up and with a nod he put the car into drive and slammed on the gas pedal. It was a hell of a ride, probably one of the scarier she's been on and that even includes the few random times she has tried to drive. He was efficient though, within ten minutes he pulled up the gate leading to the dock.

"Impressive, very impressive."

Leah pulled out a wad of singles and handed it to the drive, it was more money then he made all day.

"Thank you Miss, thank you... You need me to wait for you?"

Leah shook her head.

"No, no need for that."

She stepped out of the car, took a moment to make herself presentable then made her way through the gate. It took her a moment to find the guys, she wasn't overly familiar with the port layout, it wasn't a preferred hangout for her.

Dominick glanced over his shoulder as he heard the doors to the head quarters fly open, and out sprung, w--..ait. Leah ? Damn, she must've had a make over! His eyes widened, awe struck for a moment as the change was rather extraordinary. However, he'd dismiss the thoughts with a forced clearing of his throat. He'd turn to Dubliner , and give a shrug as Leah ran past them and jumped right into the cab zDiamonDz was just stepping out of.

"Fuck. Did you see her? Guess shes been putting her money to some use, huh?"

Dominick chuckled softly before lifting a hand and patting Dubliner upon the back.

"Didn't even see us here, she took off like a bat out of hell. Man, that woman, is really something. She must have taken off to the port, let's get out of here man."

Dominick began walking down the steps and nodded toward zDiamonDz, a smile curling at the corners of his lips.

"Hey, join us, yeah? Jump in."

He'd move around their car, and slip into the driver seat, looking over to see Dubliner settling into the passenger seat and zDiamonDz in the rear of the vehicle.

"We have some business to tend to, it's happening at the port, again.. hopefully shit doesn't go sideways like last time."

He'd growl, remembering the close call they had with the authorities and difficulties with The Kraut. The keys were then slipped into the ignition and with a flick of the wrist, the car rumbled to life.

"Leah, Leah, Leah.. You were running late, again." Dominick grumbled.

Dominick laughed softly to himself before looking to his passengers and pulling into the street, on their way, to The New York Port.

Leah walked over to the pair of guys she thought was Dominick and Dubliner. To her surprise it wasn't them. She stood there and looked around, those were the only two people there. Did she miss something? Was it the wrong time? She scratched her head and walked back to the gate.

"Hmm, I guess I will just wait here and see if they show."

Report Post Tip

"Christ almighty! What kind of cab driver does she have!?" Dubliner yelled as Dominick struggled to keep close to the cabbie. They eventually lost the cab driver who was swerving in and out of traffic like his wife was in labor in the back seat.

The trio pulled up to the dockyard. Construction had begun on rebuilding the manager's office that Dominick destroyed. Though he and Dubliner were easily recognizable in this area now, nobody had the balls to speak up. There was a sense of respect and fear that could be felt in the dockyard at the sight of the two. Dominick, Dub, and Diamond stepped out of the car as Dominick spotted Leah standing awkwardly near two dockworkers.

"Leah, is your inability to drive contagious or something? That cab driver would've given me a heart attack, I nearly shat myself when Dominick was trying to keep up with you!" Dubliner motioned to his backside whilst motion an explosive deuce with his hands. Very mature, Dubliner was...

Taking a moment to compose himself and to stop his knees from feeling faint, Dubliner shared that Pseudonym said the military gear was in Bay 9. It was rather dark outside and the night shift at the docks were significantly smaller in size than that during the day. The group of four could manage to stay well hidden and out of the light as only the occasional street light and spotlight provided any.

"Dom, you mentioned Leah could run the locomotive. I can handle that if you need me to. Wouldn't want anyone getting into a fenderbender with another engine..." Dubliner chuckled.

Standing out by the gate Leah began thinking of her conversation with Dominick. Was it the right day? The right time? Was there another possible port somewhere? How was she going to hail a cab off the beaten path like this? All of these thoughts were racing through her head, which was the only place she was really at in the moment. Whatever was going on around her didn't matter, that was until she heard screeching tires coming around the corner.

Immediately she snapped out of her train of thought, hid behind a couple of crates, next to a couple of dockworkers and prepared for whatever was coming her way. The car came speeding towards her and quickly came to a halt. Leah peeked her head around the crate and noticed a couple of familiar faces getting out of the car. It was Dubliner, Dominick and zDiamonDz. With a sigh of relief Leah emerged from her hiding spot.

"What took you guys so long?"

That's when Dub made a comment about her driving skills being contagious. Leah rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Listen I was late or at least I thought I was, so I told the driver to step on it. Trust me, I thought I was going to die." She said with a chuckle, even though at the time of the cab ride she wasn't chuckling.

The thought of the ride gave her a chill that ran up her spine.

She wasn't paying much attention do what Dub began saying but she did overhear a couple of key words. Especially the locomotive and her driving it.

"Wait... What? Have you not seen me drive a car. Do you really think it is a good idea you put me in control of a damn train? You must be out of your mind."

Report Post Tip

Dominick cursed as they finally arrived to the port, the cab drive he had been following could be seen, their brake lights fading as they drove off. He'd throw the car into park and step out the vehicle before the thing came to a complete stop. He was irked, frustrated and making a beeline for Leah .

"What took us so long? I told you, in front of the head quarters, and next thing you know I see you running out like a bat out of hell. You nearly knocked Forest right over and others! Late again, Leah."

Dominick growled and huffed some before glancing around briefly. His attention turned toward a pair of dockworkers several feet away, enjoying a smoke break, however eavesdropping on the situation going on.

"Move along, you fucks."

Dominick barked at them, and took a step toward them, squaring up on the individuals, his brows narrowing upon them. It was rather clear that he was fired up! The two men wouldn't hesitate a moment before tipping their hats in Dominick's direction and walking off toward the water in the distance. Dominick would then turn back to Leah, a heavy sigh tumbling from his lips as his gaze lingered a moment.

"Anyways, you look nice."

Dominick nodded to her. It was best he cooled off anyways, the task at hand wasn't the easiest and they all needed to be in the right state of mind for this sort of operation. He'd then look toward Dubliner , and nod in agreement.

"Leah, I need you with me. Dubliner, to the locomotive, the engine should be primed and ready to go. We'll start loading the goods once we clear out the warehouse of any.. company. zDiamonDz , with me. They have men outside of the warehouse and inside, we'll need all the help we can get with that. Everyone good?"

Dominick glanced to the current members as they'd close in on him. His hands combed over his belt, ensuring his pistol and extra ammunition were tucked appropriately and at the ready for easy access.

"We just need to surprise the men outside so they don't alert the ones watching inside the warehouse. Shouldn't be difficult, but let's not do anything stupid."

Dominick cleared his throat and glanced toward Leah.

Report Post Tip

"Why the hell are you yelling at me, I was here on time. You never told me to meet you all in front of the HQ. I remember you specifically saying meet at the port."

She paused for a moment trying to remember the conversation the two had the day prior. The details were a bit blurry to her, especially the part of the meeting spot. A smile went upon her face as she remembered why that part of their conversation was blurry. It all had to do with that cat, that ladder and that greatly obese painter. That was a story for her to tell later when they were all sitting around having a couple drinks.

Leah then listened to him yammer on, dismissing the comment of her looking nice. She wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or not and she just left as if he said nothing. She just stood there and listened, nodding her head to the instructions being laid in front of her. This time her entire focus was on the plans, she knew how important this job was.

Pulling her gun off of her waist, she double checked it to make sure things were how they were supposed to be. If there was one thing about her you can definitely count on it was her marksmanship.  The girl loved her gun and knew how to use it like a pro.

She repeated to herself the last part of what Dominick said.

"We just need to surprise the men outside so they don't alert the ones watching inside the warehouse. Shouldn't be difficult, but let's not do anything stupid."

She noticed Dominick still looking in her direction. Rolling her eyes at him while shaking her head she turned towards Dubliner.

"He must be talking to you, kind of rude don't you think?"

Report Post Tip

Dubliner looked confused back at Leah, "Yeah, sure." He said sarcastically.

As the group made their way around the corner, warehouses were seen from Bay 1 to Bay 19. Large warehouse capable of holding cruise ships and aeroplanes. Luck would be on their side if they could manage to snag a WWI AeroMarine 40 but that was highly unlikely since most, if not all, were destroyed or shipped to Washington. Bay 9 was what we were looking for. It appeared to be the only warehouse with guards out front. Not just paid muscle, these were military-trained soldiers. This would attract WAY too much heat if these guys were found murdered. The cargo would need to be hidden in a great spot. The entire federal government would be on edge after losing this large shipment and finding several soldiers bloodying the New York Bay.

The small group made their way closer and closer to Bay 9. Dubliner noticed a small 'alleyway' of sorts that divided the warehouses on either side of 9. He turned off from the group heading for a side entrance that would enable him to make it to the locomotive in time for the crew to just be getting past the front guards. He'd be able to focus on getting the locomotive ready to go as the crew finished handling the rest of the guards inside and make for a speedy getaway--or as speedy as a x ton engine filled to the brim with military surplus and heavy vehicles could make a getaway...

Tons and tons of military-grade explosives and army issued vehicles traveling to Jersey would be sure to attract attention, Dub would also need to focus on covering every train car to make sure no wandering eyes tracked where they were headed. Next were the serial numbers. Each vehicle, each weapon, even the train car itself had a special government assigned serial number etched onto the sides of them in order to track the gear and locomotive, itself. Those would all need to be scratched off to avoid a paper trail being picked up by the feds, but that's a large job and probably shouldn't be done in plain sight.

Dubliner opened the side door to the warehouse just as Dominick moved in with the group to subdue or kill the guards up front. Dub wasn't quite sure what they'd do with them...

Report Post Tip

Dominick paused as they scaled along the sides of the warehouses, nearing their target. He'd pause occasionally, maneuvering to stay within the cover of darkness. The adrenaline began to dump into his system as they neared the warehouse, hearing conversations between two guards just inside. Military, great. The good ol' boys just doing their country a service. He certainly felt bad for what they were about to do, so much, that Dominick would pause in his steps.

"Fuck, these guys are just kids.."

He'd look to Dubliner , and Leah and shake his head some. It'd only be another moment of thought and quick decision making before he pressed on. There would be no killing, not unless absolutely necessary to preserve their own lives. Not just because they were young servicemen, but because they were government men and that would bring all the heat in the nation into New York.

"Listen, no killing unless absolutely necessary to save your own ass. Understand? Dubliner, I have some associates waiting five miles outside of the city limits with trucks. Start slowing the locomotive half a mile before the five mile marker. Understand? Unload a much as you can and send the rest barreling down the tracks. We don't need it all. The feds will be after the train and we'll make off with a good portion. "

It was the best they could do, they didn't need the entire shipment. They only needed a portion of it, the rest would come, eventually. What was important was that the feds would be chasing the runaway train thinking they were still on it, seeing as how equipment was still aboard!

"Alright, let's go."

Dominick slipped into the door and began walking up behind the two soldiers conversing.

"Hey soldiers, any of you gentlemen have a light?"

Dominick held out a cigarette to them with a grin. Both soldiers immediately turned, taken by complete surprised that he and others behind him were in the warehouse.

"H-halt! Y-ou! How?"

Dominick shook his head and let his fist fly, connecting with the speaking soldiers jaw, dropping him immediately to the floor. The downed soldier groaned before slipping from consciousness. He'd look to the other soldier and shrug.

"All I wanted was a light, and well, some of Uncle Sam's toys." Dominick chuckled.

"Take it, I'll just go over here, r-really!"

Dominick shook his head, he had already seen him and became a liability. Without waiting another moment, he'd snatch the soldier and slip him into a choke hold.

"Shh, just count to ten, you'll be just fine.."

Dominick began to drag the soldier behind some crates, laying him down gently before looking to Leah and Dubliner.

"Thank you for your service kid. Ahem, Dubliner, Leah, keep moving, you know what to do."

Report Post Tip

Leah followed closely behind Dominick, seemed he was taking point on this one and that was completely fine by her. She wouldn't have been able to take both guards down like he did without firing a round or two and he specifically told her and Dubliner that wasn't going to happen unless it was dire.

She stood there with her gun drawn the entire time, watching as Dominick subdued the two guards. When the deed was done she holstered her gun and helped drag the pair behind a couple of crates.

"Do you really think there's only two of these guys around here? I mean think about, two measly guards to protect, what, million upon million of dollars worth or guns?"

She was talking to the guys but they really weren't paying her much mind, they were standing side by side focused on the jackpot sitting in front of them. Nudging her way between them, making sure to throw a couple elbows, she made her way in between them and repeated what she had just said.

"Since you guys don't listen, pay attention! Something doesn't feel right, there's no way these two guards were the only thing standing in the way of this score."

The three of them paused for a moment, Leah looked over at Dom and then at Dub.

"Right, something isn't right?"

Report Post Tip

Dubliner looked at Leah, "Is anything EVER right?"

Dub motioned to Dominick that he was moving around the side of the building. He entered a side door. The warehouse was pretty dark but he could hear voices. They sounded like they were coming from the front of the locomotive which would be bad news for Dub as he was gonna try and get everything set up to go. He snuck towards the other end of the warehouse. As soon as Dominick and the crew came through those doors, Dub would open the opposite end of the warehouse so the Locomotive could follow the train tracks out and about.

As he snuck from crate to crate parallel with the engine, he tried to keep track of how many soldiers he could see. Not even halfway to the other end and he was to 8. If Dom wants to do this without killing, he's gonna be in for a whole 'nother story or he'd need to be very creative about this. But once those front doors are open, there's no going back. All attention will be drawn to them. It would provide Dub the cover he needed and he could silently take them out from the back to the front and meet with the crew at the engine.

Now at the back doors, Dub just waited for Dom and the Crew to get this party started...
