Disorder walks out of his office for a second time that morning. Pleased to see the throne had been removed, he stepped onto the stairs and looked out over the faces of the gathering, still bewildered by the audacious appearance by SweetPrince. "It has been my experience that speeches like this are never really appreciated. people complain if they are too long, then complain if they are too short. There are complaints when there are no explanations and complaints when the explanations are not to people's liking. Even when the truth has been laid out as simply and clearly as possible, there are still complaints. Seems there is no pleasing some people. Still..." He reaches into his jacket. Taking out a hip flask he savored a few hearty swigs of the warming brandy inside. It was definitely a brandy morning rather than a coffee one. "I ordered the removal of the entire east coast. I made that decision after watching the way the landscape had been developing for some time. There was no resentment or even a huge amount of mistrust from me toward anyone on that coast. I still bear none of them any ill will. I just looked at the situation and saw a certain level of growing inevitability about the future. At some point in the not too distant future, a move would have to be made. Either by one side or the other. Not out of any bitterness or hate, simply because that was the only major play left to make. I had a great teacher in my father and have been fortunate to be surrounded by some wonderful people in my life. My father died because he ignored similar signs and numerous warnings from trusted advisers. I was not about to make the same mistake. Not this week anyway. I won't go into depth about the difficulty of the shot I took. Suffice to say a magnificent man fell in that war. I will forever love his memory and care for his family. For everyone else that fell and fought back, may they rest in peace. To their children, there was no ill will carried toward you parents. Most of them were just good people living a bad life. The harsh reality of this thing of ours is that war happens. I hope you all find fine homes and flourish. That is all. Thank you for your time." Taking another couple of swigs from his flask, he slowly screwed the silver cap back on and looked calmly over the crowd of faces. Glancing up at the sky he turned and walked back into his headquarters. |

I would like to offer my condolences to the fallen, particularly to the late, great Godfather Borkers. He was an exceptional man who founded a highly successful business empire. He will be mourned. |

New york was a fine city filled with fine folk. I am sad to see where they have ended up, but none the less proud of what they achieved! Rest in peace to all those who were friends of my predecessor, you worked hard and fought back like true mafioso. You have all earned your rest. To the Victor's, congratulations on a fine take down. You persevered and achieved victory. Although some may be salty and bare resentment, I do not have anything but joy in my heart knowing that my father died with his family with honour. I know he would not wish me to mourn his passing or hold a grudge against those who were responsible. For this is the nature of the world we live in and to push against it would only cause more grief than good. Respect to the fallen, respect to the Victor's. |

The regret of every person who has fallen is that they did not strike first, typically. I know I have had memories of this but you can never do anything about it at that point and then some of us say the next time I am in the position to make that decision I will do it differently. Always sucks being on the other side but I don't think that anyone who has ever been in spot before can say that do not understand. Like you said rest in peace to the fallen and we will rebuild and flourish with new comings and opportunities. As he walked away from the speech he noticed a few people throwing dice.. Now Striphe had been out of the game for a while due to a sick relative and going back to the old country.. but he sure did LOVE gambling.. so he quickly stopped and threw some dice and made some cash... you knew there was no going back now |

I'm sure the regret of most people from NY/PH is that they bled for LV in previous wars continiously offering help. When LV took out parts of Chicago and TsuDhoNimh died to what LV couldn't cleanup fast enough they cast Borkers aside not wanting his help in the takedown to begin with. Borkers should have acted then knowing everyone but a few chosen people are dispensible to the LV regime. They don't need allies/friends when they can herd proers like sheep and continue their reign disregarding the wellbeing of up and coming mobsters in their own ranks. |

Thank you Disorder for coming out to say something even if people won't like it. I do hope the fallen find some sort of peace and their kin can move on. For the people complaining about how things are done during Disorder's reign, keep in mind that everyone has something they do that they will not like. You can think you will do things better, and you might in some areas that make people really happy to be apart of the community. Chances are though there will be things you do that people will hate and throw their toys out of their pram for. It's a cycle because you cannot make everyone happy. |

A power play seems about right. The growth of the East Coast perhaps had LV worried. Paranoid? Perhaps. Id say that be pushing it. However when New York came to save LV and Disorder when mouseycop and Daniella were giving the Western crime syndicate the business end. We had these giant bromance hugs and valiant speeches of how New York would not be forgotten for its support in LV time of need. For stepping in to help LV fight back from the storm the mouseycop/Daniella had created. Guess you've forget Disorder? Or maybe you just threw New York under the bus cause it just seems convenient to do so at the moment?
Which brings me to my next point. For being the most powerful GodFather in the land you visit quite some friendly funerals. Bonkers, Borkers, just to name a few. Really makes a man wonder who the real GF is with the strings in the back. Powerful men fight to keep their friends alive. Not slay them in order of convenience. Perhaps the rules of Power are unknown to me. Perhaps I'm just a thug with absolute no knowledge of the ThrownMonopoly. However in an era when blood lining is at an all time high, just look at the different shades of GoldenSpikeS. Makes a new bit two time thug wonder. Is it really the organization behind the scenes in control? Or this greatest bald man to ever walk our shores?
We'll never know for sure. Till the facade comes crumbling down. Till then the colors of this regime will continue to be Black in Water, and a mix of shades of GoldenSpikeS. |

John walks up to the commotion on the street corner and listens to all the people voice there opinions, some angry, some mourning, and some just don't really care, he lights up a cigarette and steps to the front of the crowd so he can say a few words. "I must admit, It wasn't the cleanest of takedowns, the east coast fought to the best of there ability after being surprised by the fall of some prominent leaders, Vegas hit them hard, possibly the hardest i have seen, but what was done is done." He takes a few puffs on his cigarette waiting for what he said to soak in before speaking again. "Now although people may not believe the reasons for the demise of the East coast. Apparently action had to be taken, i take no sides in this as it has set this thing of ours back a bit. So all i have to say is my respect goes out to all the fallen, you fought the best you could and died a honourable death. May your children find power and wealth in these lands once again." He looked around the crowd before slowly walking back into the sea of spectators. |

I think the bloodlines of fellow New Yorkers and Philadelphians should look a little closer to home here, as hard as it may be. I think many of us would agree that 90% of wars nowadays are power moves, to which Godfather Disorder has already publicly announced was the reasoning behind this takedown. Respect to him for that and for not coming out here covering it up with some cock and bull story which we've seen so many times before. My issue however is did Godfather Borkers really think he and Disorder would grow old together and then go off into the sunset and live happily ever after? Was he really so gullible? Well apparently so. You may have already heard that Godfather Borkers sent a mail to every member of New York expressing his feelings towards Godfather Disorder. If I remember correctly, I think the words he chose to use were that he would rather retire than ever have to shoot Disorder. Well my friend, you should have retired there and then. This is the mafia, not a fairy tale. Although if we're being honest you already pretty much had. The impression my mother got as being a Don in New York, was that Borkers didn't really care for or take any responsibility for the position which he held. This could be backed up by his lack of appearances and some of his decisions in my opinion. Take the Philadelphia auths prior to Mattsr moving over there as an example. Oh, and then their removal a few weeks later. What was that all about? Laughable. This also filtered down to some of the other captains and leaders in New York but I won't go into that. With Las Vegas seemingly growing stronger week by week, Borkers wasn't really anywhere to be seen. Then again, he didn't need to be. TheNihilist was pretty much running New York, doing all of the day to day business, just as was Tsu-Doh-Nimh prior to his death, and we had Borkers' relationship with Disorder which would mean neither would ever attack each other as long as you were naive enough to believe it. As you can see, the plan worked wonders. The ones I feel for most is TheNihilist, Pseudonym, Mattsr and their respective families. These people worked tirelessly to keep New York ticking over whilst the majority of others simply just existed. As Godfather Disorder stated, at some point in the future a move was always going to be made, despsite any beliefs Borkers had. The two cities and their allies were the only threats to one another. Unfortunately for New York and Philadelphia, Disorder didn't sit there twiddling his thumbs. He put plans into action, he grew his city and her allies, he could see what was going to happen just as we all could. Well, all but Borkers that is. He made the choice and done exactly what we many of us would have done should we have been in his shoes. You can't blame him for that. It would have been easy to come out here and abuse Disorder and Las Vegas like some of you already have, however as far as I'm concerned he played the game, and his opponent didn't have a fucking clue. |

I realize this is the Streets which makes this argument functionally confusing, but at some point we have to decide whether or not we want good people doing this. Do we want this place to entertain us? To enjoy it? If no city is permitted to live for more than x number of days, even when headed up by someone who would refuse to ever strike against Las Vegas for any reason at any time, then what level of marketing or argumentation can be conjured to convince people to even participate in this world? Much less put any actual effort into it? The truth of this "statement" is that certain individuals of certain ancestries (and please dear god don't pretend that isn't what this is about) reached a point where they could kill someone that Disorder values more than Borkers (which appears to be just about anyone), and that's enough to wipe out arguably 50% of the active population of Our Thing. Gone. Because one person wielded a gun that was too strong to let the silent paranoia governing Las Vegas subside. I really don't know what to say. As someone who has a decade of journals during good years and bad, I have to say this is a serious low point. We are deliberately driving away individuals and forcing them into hiding or hiatus purely because we cannot tolerate anyone being remotely close to wielding actual power, even as a subordinate to an ancestral friend. You've shown that even absolute loyalty cannot afford anyone any amount of protection in this world. Whether through purges, where you ask CLs to kill their own to ease your paranoia, or by killing off your own close (apparently?) friends because they allow certain bloodlines to work hard in their city. This world needs to change if we want it to grow. And considering Disorder is visibly incapable of improving it or allowing it to improve itself, it looks like it will be left to the Gods. But hey, there's a new GUI coming so that's gonna be real nice. |

Source that's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard on here. If we were to limit what people could do in this world then what is the incentive to put in any hard work. Man it would be great to work incredibly hard for 6 months just to wait for that guy ahead of me to get killed so I can be on top for a month and then die....
I'm always impressed by those who can go on great journeys and bend this world in a certain way. Borkers had every opportunity to shoot Disorder and he didn't do it. All those deaths are on his hands as much as anyone else's. |

Swooshing in from the shadows the Dark Knight slams onto the sidewalk in a particularly gruff voice he airs his opinion It appears from what has been said a lot of people were killed. This is the life of crime we have chosen, we are not picking flowers here. I left the life of protecting the innocent and signed up to this life of crime knowing full well death might come my way. It seems to me that we should all remember this, we rob, we steal, we kill we don't go around kissing babies and patting puppies on the head. TheBatman throws in some extra swooshes to disorientate the passers-by and anyone who was bothering to listen and disappears to go earn some more money. The life of crime is treating this bat very well. |

I will somewhat counterintuitively quote the words of a man who is unlikely to be famous for a number of years:
Those who are still grieving and those with axes to grind should look to the words of Odin, who has made a fine, fine contribution here. I cannot speak as to the motivation of the late New York Godfather, nor of the distribution of power or political cleavages within New York prior to his death, but in broad terms Odin has highlighted the nature of conflict very well. Basic human nature, constrained by decrees from City Hall, make certain actions almost inevitable in our way of life. Conflict is only ever just over the horizon and history has taught us that it is generally a case of unstoppable force meets immovable object. The late comrade Marx spoke extensively on the topic of struggle and conflict, and though he of course channelled his concepts through the lens of class, there are lessons in this. Until we have reached a utopia, conflict is the natural state of humanity. We are either envious of that which others possess, or jealous and fearful that what we have may be taken by a third party. If you think the propensity to strike quickly and without mercy is unique to Disorder, you need only cast your mind back to the beginning of May. In the power vacuum left by Reggie, Borkers was proactive - -Santos- and Philly were removed with minimal fanfare on the basis that Borkers saw them as an obstacle to his vision for the East Coast. In fact, you may find Borkers' reasoning very similar to that offered by Disorder here:
I could even go as far as to speculate that it was Borker's decisiveness here that contributed to his downfall. Were I standing in Disorder's shoes, I would have watched events unfolding in New York with admiration, but ultimately decided that the ruthless streak shown by the late Godfather made him too dangerous a man to leave alive - regardless of the bonds of friendship. Had Disorder let sentiment stay his hand it may well have been Borker standing before us, telling us of the difficult decision he had made to shoot an old friend, seeing as that friend did not figure in his vision for the future. |
