Simple as it sounds really. I've encountered more than a few occasions where a 'Local Chat' channel that covers the city I was in, would have been very helpful. No crew or city distinctions, just an open channel that covers every active player in that city at that time. If it is plausible to code it, maybe just a simple 'L' tab between H and G1. |

I've thought this so many times would be so helpful for organizing OC's |

Wouldn't the downside be if someone was on stealth and you couldnt see them in locals then this would tell you they were there? |

Squishy I don't think that is a good idea. That would negate people on pure stealth. |

I think that the idea is a good one in theory, but inputting it would negate such things as stealth which can be vital at the most important times. |

I agree, this is an easy way to get around stealth. People stay online so they can't be jailed but with this tab anyone can just go look in their "local" tab and find the stealth person that they couldn't find before. Or when rogues set up in empty cities - this would allow anyone to fly into the city and see the members of the crew who are there, giving away their pro'ers. Now you wouldn't have to search the 60 sec list or the locals to find them. Sure it might be "convenient" but I don't think we need anything that makes wars even easier. |

Or the channel could simply not have people listed in it. You could speak freely and be heard across the city if you chose to but the channel would have no directory of people. That would seem a very simple way round the problem. |

Good idea. If there are no lists then people can respond or not in the local chat. Serves both sides well enough. |

I would love this, provided there is not a listing of everyone in the Local area as has been mentioned. |

I imagine the only time you want to stay hidden is if you're paranoid or if you're in a war. We often see people exchange drug prices in the chats, freely giving away locations, I don't see this as much of a difference. It will be handy to organise OC's and people can choose to reply or not. |

There are other reasons to stay hidden.. Like less chance of being pickpocketed, and if people are intending to take pot shots, Also they just may not want to be seen. Not everyone shares their drug prices. Some do, some don't. Either way it doesn't mean that a list should be given for whose in what city. Locals are there for a reason, if you cant see them then there is a reason. |

Aye, it wont list who is in the channel, people can choose to talk and be public, or stay silent and their presence isnt even known. |

Sorry River, I wasn't disagreeing with that point, which is why I said people can respond or not. Meaning they can choose to reveal their whereabouts should they wish. |

I recall when flipping OC's was never time consuming regardless of the hour of the day.
Would be quite handy in wars too.
What do you know about wars? |
