It's raining Gorillas in LA. They fall from the trees and land hard on the asphalt like the heavy raindrops of a jungle monsoon. The Concrete Jungle of Los Angeles. They are the Gorilla Cartel, named after Anselmo's favorite carnivorous primate and also as a homage to the monkey theme made popular by the great city of New York where Anselmo began his life of crime. Anselmo enters a dark alleyway with OlavRex to his right, John_Updike to his left, and his trusted band of Gorilla Friends and associates following closely behind. They approach a gang of hoodlums and petty thieves who are in the process of stripping an old lady of her purse. A look of relief spreads over the panicked woman's face as the wanna-be mobsters cease their assault to listen to the newly authed Los Angeles Captain speak.

Rumor has it you imbeciles have been snatching purses and conning schlubs without kicking anything upstairs to Godfather SpaceMountain. Unacceptable. This 'wild-west' free-for-all crime spree that has been taking place in this sector of the city ends today. Our Organization is expanding, and Don Gwarble has set me up here to get you clowns in line. I'm willing to excuse your ignorance, and offer you an opportunity to be a part of something big.

I grew up in Cosa Nostra, and my bloodline has been influenced by the likes of legendary Mafioso such as the late and great Godfather Sidious, Godfather Tallien, Godfather Butt_Ox, -PizzaTheHutt-, and the very alive-and-well Godfather Deimne. I hope to take a page from all their books and turn this crew into something that will be remembered for generations to come.

You can continue to operate in this city unsponsored if you'd like, but I'd be willing to bet you won't last long before one of my Friends here decide to feed you to the fish. In fact, I doubt you'd last much more than 48 hours. Alternately, you can come by my HQ for a chat and I can get you set up in the Los Angeles Crime Syndicate. I'm looking for Men and Women willing to put forth effort to make themselves and my Cartel successful. My crew is small, but capable. We can help you reach great heights if you are willing to work for it. The ways of This Thing Of Ours can be taught. What I cannot teach is common sense. If you lack that, I have no room for you in my outfit.

I expect that you all find your strengths, develop them, and use them to benefit our organization. You will be required to earn money for me. If the time comes for you to get your button, you will be expected to groom associates who will in turn earn money for you. There are no sub-crews in my outfit. Each Made Man is their own sub-crew. You will be held accountable for your associate's actions, so choose them wisely. I am not interested in recruiting gun-fodder because quite frankly, I don't need to.

"can i join ur crew?" asks one of the hoodlums

Sure, if you'd like. I'm not going to make a liar of myself and claim I won't accept requests such as yours. But if that half-assed introduction is the most effort you are willing to put into making a first impression, you will most likely never be looked at as much more than a schlep, and I doubt my Made Men will be very impressed with you either when I refer you to them to discuss becoming their associate. Most likely you will wallow in mediocrity until I grow tired of your stupidity and decide to use you as target practice, or fight an uphill battle to make a decent second impression after failing miserably at your first.

Anselmo sticks out his hand as the bums fork over their take from the purse snatching. The Gorillas exit the alleyway to continue their business in the harsh streets of Los Angeles.

I've always known Anselmo and his family line to be a straight-forward one.  They aren't mean, but they don't take any bullshit either.  He is a man of a obnoxious subtlety, which I greatly respect, and I look forward to working together once again.

He stood in the shadows of the alley. He was watching the man in the new suit as he extorted his due from from thugs and hoodlums. As the man made his exit Sam spoke to no one in particular. "Gorilla's huh?" It was no more than a whisper but the man in the suit stopped for a split second, then continued on. Sylvestro exhaled the last of his smoke and crushed the butt beneath his heel as started off in the opposite direction. He eyeballed the now distitute gangsters in the alley and spoke this time, to them. "Once there was a gorilla roaming these streets, but I wouldn't expect the likes of you to know anything about that." Sam grinned as he left the fine streets of Los Angeles.

Gianluca walks up through the crowd and makes his way to the front and starts to claps

Anselmo our bloodlines have been associated for quite a while now and I am sure your ancestors are looking down on you and are as proud as can be. Your bloodline has always been there for me and have helped me through in 'this thing of ours'. I wish you and the Gorilla Cartel all the sucess in your venture and you will be a fine asset to the city of L.A. my friend as always its a pleasure

Gianluca turns and makes is way back through the crowd and jumps into the car before speeding off to the airport
