The way communication works in this game is not at all realistic, Gangsters and goombas just waltzing up to godfathers and dons for a chit chat. 

lets face it, if a goomba made a b line for a don he would get shot down before he was within 25 feet by some heavy. weather he just wanted a chat or not. But when that person makes arrangements to meet these higher ups they usually are expected to bring a gift.....for the other persons time and trouble. so my idea is, Once you reach the rank of capo and then above, you have the option to edit who can message you.

for instance a tick box, 

Gangstas

Earners

made men  etc etc. you just tick the box next to them and boom those ranks can message you without any trouble. 

but if you dont tick those boxes, well you get to set a "fee" for your time and trouble. 

so it might cost someone $3,000 just to send you a mail, since you know...your a don and their an earner, why the fuck shouldnt they be paying for your time? youve got important shit to do, you dont just take time out of your busy day for a quick gum flapping session with any old lout right? 

you will ofcourse be auto contactable by anyone capo and above, and anyone no matter rank in your crew and district.

I am not paying money to talk to people. I can barely afford to dice. If I had to pay to mail, I would be so bored. 

you can talk to anyone you want....under capo :p

plus it would be their choice to set the feature up. some would, others wouldnt. 

The majority of people will start contacting outside of the game if this came to be, I don't think many people will want to pay to mail someone.

might that not encourage a bit more street activity :p

So you are proposing that we have to pay to communicate with others on a role playing game that relies on communication? If someone wants to pay me for my time they can do this simply by sending money via the bank page.

Your suggestion actually deters people from communicating, which is what the game is supposed to be about. There's already a lacking in role play and building ties within families, why would you want to make it even harder and less common?

Also, it's "Gangsters" not "Gangstas". The game is not set in downtown LA in the mid 90s. It is set in the 1930s.
