I got my first tattoo at the age of 18(I'm 20, 21 in Aug.) and I just got it in black because it was more about what I was getting then the color. Now I want to get a maple leaf(like on the Canadian Flag) and have it on my lower part of my neck and of course, have it clear but drawn in thick red.

After talking with some people they said red fads, then looking up on the net some say red fades while allot of sites day as long as its good quality ink, the color shouldn't fad unless your in the sun allot.

I have started working with a local artist here who is in the ink industry. It is honestly a bit on quality, both of the work and of the ink brand. Sun and age will fade it slightly, altering the pigment of your skin.

The dude you have do will probly use a special shading needel, and a kinda grey ink, if you just have it parcaly filled red as shading the greyish ink next to it will keep it darker longer preventing fading.

All ink fades, thats why you go to a artist who uses top notch ink! Alot of the ghetto places put water in their ink. Magik-flo and permapro are a couple of the best. Remember never price shop when your getting a tattoo!

Quality shop is most important, color wont fade much as long as its good ink and work, ive got pink in my sisters name on my wrist and it is still just like the day it was just a lil fade to it, i also have redand yellow in my mothers name and it is still good

Also make sure you take care of it once you get it. My two buds went and got identical tattoos and well one took care of his, the other didnt and now its all cracked and faded really bad while my other friends still looks new and its been a two years.
