Basically 1 was bought by DT and they made little to no profit at all and was sold in a week or so while another went bankrupt. I don't think there were any other casino attempts/bought casinos in the past, if there were please share the outcome, because the way I see it - casinos cost an insane amount of money, whose investment or price does not justify by any means what they are offering and I mean by any! It's basically tossing a 20 million bet (the vault money) in a dice and praying you get it right, if you don't - you lose the 20m bet + the 100m for the casino you bought - nice!
There are families who have the money to buy a casino, but refuse to do so because they know it's a bad idea and not a wise investment like a Corrupt Agent. The idea of owning a casino is cool, but it's better to just remove the option to buy a casino as a whole if things with them stay the way they are. There's nothing fun about paying 120m and then losing it all (bankrupting) or forcing to sell it because instead of gaining, you are losing. If both statistics (even though we are talking about only 2 casinos here I think, it's still valid) and players show that casinos suck, I think it's time to take action. I have no idea what kind of improvements you could do, hence why I'll leave that to someone else. |

Casinos will be profitable if you live long enough. I don't think we should lower the bar so that owners profit after 1 month with little to no work. As a casino owner you can adjust the payouts, the size of bets, even push people to your casino. There is work involved, hence the XP you and your 2nd get daily. I don't think you should just be able to click a few buttons and make a few hundred million. Ever see how House works? Some days I'm up, some days im down. I've lost tens of thousands of credits and billions of dollars over the course of a week. Eventually the opposite happens too. In the end, I have 50/50 odds and a 1% rake. This means that the wins eventually balance out with the losses, and the 1% rake is where I make money in the long term. The casino is actually has way better than 50/50 odds and much higher than 1% rake. There is no situation, just 1 person didnt get rich in 7 days, and no one wants to risk it.
As a side note: "while another went bankrupt. " Losses or wins are not set in stone until the player walks away. This means that the wins or losses are fluid until its over. Soo, if the casino is down 5 million, they are not really down until that person stops betting. How do you get a person to stop betting? Be cheap and keep the minimum amount in a vault so that you go bankrupt, now the person who is up a few million who would have lost it back to you (and then some) cant give you his money. Now he goes and gives that money to someone else. This is why house wins over players. You cant bankrupt house. This means that when a player is having a really good wave of luck, there are still bets for them to keep taking and his luck will eventually run out and the tides will turn. Think about the situation in the opposite direction. A player is having a really shitty wave of luck and is down milloins, he runs out of money, he can no longer do bets and now cant possibly win it back, he walks away, thus setting your win in stone. |

Thank you for answering Squishy! I'd like to say that you are correct, but do you expect people to imitate House, when they can be gunned down and lose all the money they ever had in the vault to keep the flow going, including the casino?
Not only there need to be people playing, not only does it need possibly months to get a profit (there is always the chance of luck, players hitting a major wave of wins, before you even get your share of the wave, or rather the case where house wins small bets and looses big bets - hence keeping the 50% win rate, but still losing money... too many variables its rng in the end) but you are set to lose it all when you go down. House can't be gunned down. House has an infinite vault. Nobody can be House. It's comparing God to a mortal. Reality is different - at least for me! The risk in owning a casino is through the roof and that risk is still not justified in my eyes. |
