Mr. Hair had been hearing people bitch and whine in their plenty recently at Disorder and his terrible ways. Whine about what this place has become and how the streets are worse of because of it. The Godfather of Chicago shook his head allowing his magnificent curls to do a little dance and decided it was time to pull up the old soapbox. Ordering Dan Gleeballs to do so quickly with a snap of his fingers, the young Boss obeyed him and brought over the small stand so that Mr. Hair could step up and address the crowds. "Good people of this thing of ours" He paused waiting to draw the attention of the crowd. "It is past time that you all grew a set of balls and got on with life instead of pointing the blame at Disorder at every opportunity. It seems to have been a trend for quite a few months now that we attribute every unfortunate event upon dear old baldy. Your wife left you? Disorder's fault. Your son is gay? Disorder's fault. Your loaf of bread went mouldy? Disorder's fault.
...and I see that people have now started blaming the supposed lack of contribution within the streets to him too. It's just shit and lazy and a poor excuse at using him as a scapegoat. It's not down to Disorder what happens within the streets, no more than it's down to myself or old Dangly Balls here." Mr. Hair swung an arm round to gesture to the young Boss who was busy watching a butterfly travel by, open mouthed and face full of wonder. "Such a simpleton" he thought to himself. Turning back to the crowd and stifling a snigger. "Anyway, my point is this. It's down to everyone collectively within this thing of ours to contribute to the streets. In the past we have witnessed regimes where the main guys have just never bothered to venture out here but if you look at Disorder's colourful past you will see he has been a very vocal member of our community throughout his reign and prior to it also. So to point the finger at him and lay the blame at his feet for any perceived lack of street activity, it's just bullshit. However, if you really feel the streets are so quiet, rack those two brain cells of yours together and come up with an idea or a discussion that may actually engage people instead of leaving it to the bigger boys to initiate. We're not responsible for an apparent lack of activity, everyone is. If you care about them then make it your duty to improve the streets, do whatever it is you think that will bring about a positive change in them instead of pointing the finger elsewhere. Mr. Hair smiled at the gathering and waited to see if anyone would come forward to comment instead of just staring at his beautiful self. |

Dan had been gazing happily at the butterfly that had caught his eye while his boss was talking. After snapping out of his daze he listened to the words of his boss and nodded along. IT had been true, of course, that as of late people had been pointing the finger at Disorder for the lack of street presence. Personally, Dan didn't feel that there was a particular issue with the streets right now. I mean sure, it perhaps wasn't as busy as it once was but there was always a trend with the streets whereby it would be busy busy one moment and dull and quiet the next, peaks and troughs one might say. It seemed right now it was neither though, there were ample discussions being supplied by members of the community, Tabitha and Tenley being two who had brought some interest topics to light recently and people were seemingly enjoying getting involved in these. There were also tales of Romance and his favourite girl, Mave. Anyway, Dan felt all this negative talk was unwarranted and when a guy who introduced himself as Iscurtisdeadyet, some of us had a snigger when he was walking around with a sign suggesting that the place was dead as fuck. The Monstery one was also right in suggesting that the activity within the streets was not the responsibility of the crew leaders, but of everyone. Sure sometimes crew leaders may encourage discussion by bringing X,Y and Z topics to the forefront but ultimately it was down to the community as a whole to make the streets an enjoyable place. Dan himself had invited people to come and watch the fights over at the MGM Grand Casino and it had received a good reception and hoped that this would continue, particularly for the upcoming final which would be a live event. "Oh, another butterfly" Dan exclaimed and headed off in the same direction hoping to try and catch it and admire it some more.

Standing nearby Tenley noticed MonsterHair having someone bring about a soap box. She decided she would get a little closer since it appeared there would be something worth hearing and she certainly wanted to hear it. As she settled in she waited for him to finish and mulled over her own thoughts. "Interesting topic. I have never been one to blame Disorder for the streets but I feel very attached to them. The streets are useful so many things and to get so much information to a mass of people quickly. Have these streets been a little lackluster? To me they have been a little bit. That being said I could never blame it on one person. As you pointed out MonsterHair many of the higher ups don't always bother to come to the streets to speak with anyone. I'd personally like to know what would drag them out here, because what many associates see I find they will do. If they don't have the encouragement or see anyone from their upper structure coming out here, they may not bother to do so either. I enjoy discussions myself. Topics that will get me thinking. I love being able to think about things. The thing is you don't see too many discussions anymore. Whether people want to blame Disorder, or the fact that there is a tonne of deaths for unknown reasons happening, or they just worry their life span would shorten a great deal if they bothered to speak up. My point is, whatever the reason is there is one for each person. Discussions usually get more people out to the streets though. These tend to tempt people depending on the topic, but at the same time these can also get heated very quickly. That can be a concern for people who aren't comfortable in them. So perhaps we should look at encouraging more people. Finding a way that they can test themselves without immediate criticism. Perhaps professional editors? We could make more jobs in the economy for it. I would love to get more feedback on what would draw people out. How we can encourage the newer lines to tell stories, join discussions or what they are comfortable with. You are certainly right though. It is not one person to blame, but a collective blame. So how do we get things rolling once again in the streets?" Locating a bench nearby, she took a seat and waited to hear some more thoughts. |

Vivian_Ward was awestruck, as she stood staring at the beautiful man with the magnificent curls. She opened her mouth to speak, and "Ah" was the only thing that came out. She finally stepped back to where she couldn't see the curls and took a moment to collect her thoughts. "GodFather Hair, while I agree with everything you said in your speech, people are always going to want to blame someone for their own shortcomings. I've seen it time and time again. I'm not much of a street speaker, and to be honest, my ancestors weren't either. I will indeed try to work on it more, as should EVERYONE. It takes an effort from everyone in this community to make these streets come alive again. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone brings to the proverbial table. " She stepped out into the light again, saw the magnificent curls and her brain ceased to work any coherent thought. So, she did the only thing she knew to do, and that was nod her head, and turn quickly away. She hailed a cab and headed back to work. |
