Would it be possible to set in your profile management page an option button for the trigger safety catch?
I understand why its there and it probably prevents a lot of fuck ups but for the brave who dare to walk around with a live weapon in their belt, can we set its default to live?
It pisses me off so much. I'm a bad ass underlined slanty muther trucker, i haven't used a safety catch since i was fresh off the boat. |

It's there to ensure nobody can claim they accidentally shot at someone, and literally takes a tenth of a second to click. It's also realistic. Nobody except perhaps an absolute moron is going to walk around with their safety off all the time... |

1. Its not realistic because there is no way that guns had safety catch's in the 30's. 2. Its not realistic because what gangster film have you ever seen where the guy pulls out a gun and flicks the safety off before firing. 3. Its not realistic because in the mob. You do not think twice about pulling the trigger. Its kill or be killed. |

Here is an article that if you take the time to read you will see that they did indeed have guns with safety catches in the 1930's.

Anyone who handles a gun regularly has practiced with the safety catch till it becomes an automatic reaction. Kinda like riding a bike. And a gun with double action like the many old western revolvers the shooter had to pull the hammer back twice or cock it twice before it would fire. That is a safety catch. |

There have been millions upon millions of wack button clicks during the history of this game and only a handful of those clicks were genuinely mistaken ones. I have always felt that the safety catch was a overreaction and an annoying addition that I should be able to opt out of if I feel capable of doing so. And, the realism argument is still vastly superseded by the one for a better quality of user experience which would be improved by a disable option. |
