Gaius ambled along the alleyway deep in thought, he was headed to lower Manhattan towards the cornerstone of the New York underworld. The Godfathers casino was on the corner, across from his own HQ. Everywhere you looked, you saw men in trenchcoats looking at you, summarizing you in a single glance. If they felt you were a threat, you were removed. There was no police around to speak of, the few that did amble this way merely came for there weekly 'allowance' and then left.

Coming out of the alley he spotted Georgio breaking up a fight on the corner between two younglings, walking over Gaius nodded to Georgio and pulled his pistol from his pocket, and fired it at the ground twice getting the younglings attention. 

Fighting around here Gaius waved his hands around is... unforgivable. You will follow Georgio to the bar around the corner and get a job paying restitution for his time and mine. Perhaps you two will learn something, the next time I see or hear about the two of you fighting in my Godfather's city I will shoot you both. Understand?

They both murmured there agreement and waddled off towards the direction Georgio was walking.
Gaius had just left a meeting with several of the upper echoleon in New Yorks powerhouse, it was today that he would finally reveal their plans for expansion and profit. 

Stepping up to a new shop that had been under renovations for months Gaius nods to one of his Bodyguards to pull a soapbox from nearby for him to stand on and make his announcement. 

For the last several months we have worked tirelessly to bring the following developments to the New York Empire. Gaius nodded at the guards to pull down the sheet revealing:

New York Trust and Loan

For the last several months, a select few have been withdrawing loans from me and a few of my associates. Upon hearing the news, Godfather Deimne has decided to allow me to open the New York Trust and Loan under his watchful eye.

Many come to my Godfather, and other powerful individuals in New York for loans, or favors. Gaius said the word favors with a gleam in his eye for this was the true reason for the place.

Firstly, lets discuss loans. Amounts to be loaned are entirely dependent upon who, and what you are. A crewleader would receive a larger loan of course, then a mere thug coming to these shores for the first time. However, if your 'known to us' a loan can still be arranged. You won't know until you ask!

Interest rates are simple, 20% per week with weekly payments arranged on a case by case individual. Early payments on the loan in full, results in the interest rate being cut in half. Let me explain.

Billy over here, Gaius points to his bodyguard standing in the corner surveying the crowd. Comes into the New York Trust and Loan and requests to borrow 10million paid back in 2 weeks time.

We agree on the transaction, but he pays back 10million in 7 days instead of 14, the interest is then only two million instead of the four it would have been had he waited an additional 7 days to pay it back. Additionally, should billy wish to borrow again from us, we would of course be willing to raise the amount he wanted to borrow based on the history with the individual.

Anselmo stands in a nearby New York alleyway with a few of his henchmen watching as Gaius breaks up a fist-fight between two youngsters.

Damn, I had money riding on that kid on the left. C'mon guys, let's go.

Anselmo and his henchmen dissapear into the alley to seek violent entertainment elsewhere.

James wanders back into sight from the back alley, after talking with Gaius for fifteen minutes. His pockets were noticeably larger, and the grin on his face was one that simply read "this man's for real."

Ladies and germs, this man is for real. I came, I asked, we negotiated, and I received. Very fair and very easy to arrange, I suggest Gaius for any loan, big or small.

So let me ask a few questions just to clarify, say Billy there, point towards your bodyguard decides to payback all 10 million in NINE days, then would he still only pay 20% interest? Or once you go over a 7 day period it count's as a week, regardless of the second/minute/hour it goes over?

Now this confused me

Early payments on the loan in full, results in the interest rate being cut in half.

Wouldn't that mean the interest rate is cut to 10%? If the contract is for 14 days and he get's half off interest for paying it back early that should be guaranteed, maybe change it to where you actually do get HALF off the interest rate when paid back faster and such.

Ponders over a bit everything going on here.

I'd look into that one there Gaius. Might turn more people onto this seeing as New Orleans has a loan system and I'm sure other's offer it.

Absolut winks and walks off with a goofy smile on his face.

Gaius nods and inhales deeply on his cigarette while listening to Absolut. Waiting for the man to finish Gaius steps back up and explains his point a little clearer.

I thought that I had addressed that point clearly Absolut, so forgive me. Allow me to explain.

Loans of 10million or so, I generally provide the individual 14 days to pay it back, whereas a loan of 5million, I would only allow 7 days.

The interest rate only drops to 10% on the larger loans, and only if they are paid back within half of the time period of the loan.

Does that make a bit more sense my friend? Gaius nods and steps down waiting for the next person to ask his or her question.

So if you loaned me 10 million and I paid it off in a week I would be paying back 1 million in interest since that would be 10%, correct?

I have known gaius and his family line for quite some time, he has always been a fair and trusting man, helping anyone possible and this is just another fine example of what a great man he is.

A few questions of course friend, for my eager mind and I assume the crowd has questions as well they are just to scared to ask.

What if i borrow money from you, and when the time is up, i don't have the money or don't have enough money, and what would happen to a family line if i say borrowed 20 million after repeat business and made off with the loot. Also say i borrow 20 million and i wack back or die in a war, would my son or daughter still be obligated to pay?

Gaius chuckles and watches his friend as he speaks his mind. Looking to his left he smiles even more as the two heads of security were caring on a conversation of their own.

Loans are not transfered from father to son, or individual to his next of kin. However, should an individual choose to make off with the 'loot' and do so menacingly, they can expect to get no credit from me ever again.

Dying in a war, or dying to a gun malfunction is unfortunate, and would cost me a great deal, but alas. It does happen, and  then the loan is lost.

Listening intently to his friend speak, he smiles

I think we should dub Gaius, Saint Gaius even though he would take a huge lost he would take it with stride.

I would have to admit, that is a very admirable thing for to say Gaius, for someone to be willing to loan to someone and then say if something unfortunate happens that the loan is gone is a very big thing to risk. Though it doesn't happen often it still happens.

If someone were to die in a malfunction to have the burden of a big loan on your shoulders upon your return could be very overbearing for a long time, and for that aspect of things I do once again commend you gaius.

You see the man hold his flask up and give a toast to Gaius before he takes a swig...

I've seen many 'loan businesses' come and go over my years, but never have I seen any achieve the level of customers, turnover or even payback that you have already managed in a strikingly short time. It really is outstanding flicking through the books. Long may it continue.

Gaius stepped out of his loan office all smiles. Business was booming, and his Godfather had said some very fine words.

Nodding to sticks on the way out, Gaius makes a small announcement.

Many have asked me again, and again how the interest rate works. It's pretty simple, anything less then 10million is paid back within a 7 day time period at 20%. Anything over 10million, I provide an extra week to pay it back, however if weekly arrangements are made extensions are possible.

Walking into the Loan office Tyrion finds Gaius behind a desk looking through a large black ledger. Seeing his boss, Gaius says nothing, the expression on his face says it all. He takes the corner of the book and turns it around to face Tyrion his hand trailing down to through the numbers coming to rest pointing at the running totals at the bottom. Tyrion's eyes light up.

Well then. This certainly looks to have been worthwhile. I was talking to a few people who'd taken out loans from here and they all seemed very happy about your adjustable interest rates for early payments and various other accommodating allowances you were making. I got a little concerned about us losing out. Looking at this... Well, that's one, well balanced book! Certainly looks like it was worth the initial investments. Very nice work my friend.

'Chade walks in the door, holding it open for 2 of Gaius's bodyguards while they rush outside, probably looking for some guy that didn't make his payment.

Having a look around, he takes note of the art on the wall, and comfy chairs with the cigars on a table in the middle of them. Walking over he takes a seat in one of them, lighting a cigar as Gaius walks in from the backroom.
