Tenley found herself deep in thought as she listened to the people around her. Their complaints made her wonder. So often she has seen people complain about the regimes, complain about how unfair it is but the had kin that kept coming back to work hard for the people that were once complained about. So she decided to take out the soap box and step up for a conversation. A discussions about something dear to her heart.

Nodding a pleasant greeting to Tenley, Tammy approaches as she fidgets with the black band holding her hair in place. "Me' good friend, Tenley, when I first saw you were makin' an appearance I had a flurry of thoughts as to what this would be regarding. I wasn't far of tha' mark, and my answer is actually closer to what I imagined you were talkin' about. "Effort, my dear. Effort is why I work so hard ta' maintain a grip on the activities in tha' streets, improve my skills and talk ta' people. Confused? Well let me put it this way to ya'. "When my ancestors have looked for work, right back to me' queer Great-great Grandfather, Louis, they have been attracted to those who put in effort. An effort to maintain an image of themselves regardless of it was perceived as good or bad. An effort ta' make an effort and be more than just a background mechanic to this world. To live and breath it. Why? To learn from it, mostly, but also ta' ensure that the person that they worked for would be as much an inspiration as they wanted ta' be." |

liderlig rides his pig into the streets and struts right up to Tenley. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding something here. How is "complaining for the sake of it" - or complaining and doing nothing, in your own words - a reason to put in effort? I'm seriously confused by that statement. Back to the question at hand. I believe people put in effort when they feel they have a chance to make it big or when they have a leader they truly care for and want to see succeed. These would fall into your hope category, and I do not see many more reasons than that. Sure, people can put in effort in the hopes of changing something, but seldom does that actually work or accomplish anything. Most people realize this and don't even bother. Just my two cents. liderlig tips his hat and hops back on his hog before riding out into the sunset. |

Tenley met Tabitha's greeting with a nod of her own. "I can certainly respect the effort you do put in Tabitha. I find myself quite enjoying our conversations as I feel like i learn a fair bit. Effort to make an effort is something that I can value and even appreciate regardless the circumstances. Like you I have an itch for learning things and I find the best way to do so is by bringing these discussions to the street so I make the effort to do so." Hearing a voice she'd never heard before she turned her head around to face the speaker and listen. "Let me address your first point. Complaining takes effort, especially when they are bringing it the streets. In it's own way sir, its an effort at entertainment. An effort to be heard. Or any of the other reasons people do it. So it is in fact effort. Thank you for your views. I appreciate the effort it took to come out here and speak with me." |
