I've seen a few world cup posts here, and I also know there are fans of not only football but several sports here.

So all views are very welcome.

My question is in regards to football/soccer, for anyone not in the know, but who would like to participate there has been recent or not so recent as a matter of fact, calls for goaline technolgy in football/soccer, this would establish if the ball has crossed the line or not. It has also been fueled by the fact that England player Frank Lampard had a 'goal' not allowed, despite the fact of it being at least a foot over the line.

This debate, if it goes on here, can also include repay technolgy, shich is used in other sports.

Finally, my view on the subject is a simple no, football/soccer should not be adapted to incorporate this technology, I believe it is only highlighted as much nowadays because there is so much football/soccer coverage on T.V. and with newer H.D super slow mo replays in use, it's much easier to see any injustice. but hey, that's football/soccer <<<<< and yes that has annoyed me, but we're global here :).

Despite proof reading, I missed the 'replay' part and the totally noticable 'which' part, so apologies for the poor grammer and spelling.

I agree replay technology is great for the viewers but should not be used to identify any fouls or possible goals. Yeah with instant replay it would have counted as a goal, but that just proves that we need better referees, capable of running up and down the field with the players.

For the match that sparked this debate, I'd first like to point out the final score was 4-1 so England would have lost anyway. Go Germany.

Agreed my friend, though 2-2 makes a different game, especially in such close quarters the sway of play definitely swings.

As a fellow Englishman I was rather ticked off about that and agree that the referees should pay more attention to the monitors and less attention to being big-headed!!

As for the goaline tech it sounds like there is no point as it would waste money where good old HD slow-mo cameras have been perfect for a long time!

They trialled that in the europa league this year, but I don't think I saw any of them making any decisions so it probably got canned!

Yeah, I think that's what the beaks at Fifa are concerned about and quite rightly so, also it's unfair not to have it right acorss the board, i.e. at amatuer/junior level, try telling those guys that have just been relegated/lost a cup final that thier game does not matter as much as a professional one!
