I've been a long time player. Finally made it back :D

I'm also working on a game company and talking to publishers about getting starting up, etc. I'm seeking some team members to develop a small project that we can perhaps pitch and get it off the ground!

It will in NO way compete with this game. I am seeking a programmer to do the coding and perhaps networking if possible. I also need an artist/designer who can do basic 2d or pixel art similar to the game referenced above.

Question. If you're hiring a programmer to do the coding/networking, and an artist for the in-game art, then what work will you be doing on the project?

Program Management, Marketing, Writing (storyline, event ideas in the game, etc.)

Also, I will be gathering the resources needed to get the game going. So basically in a Producer role. The gig can be paid, I just don't know the figures just yet. Rev-share and stock ownership within the company are also possible.

This...there just feels like there's so much wrong with it. I don't know how many game ideas I've seen that had promise, but the person behind them had no actual skills that would be useful in the industry. They have no money to back up the project, either, and they promise either a revenue share, or stock options, and either the project winds up never going anywhere, or someone runs off with whatever money was gathered for the project. If you are going to do this, I wish you the best of luck, but know that it's not an easy road you're preparing to walk down.

Yeah I understand. And I am also trying to raise a little money myself to try to fund the project initially. I'm just trying to gather interest at the moment. Rev Share and Stock options are possible depending on the person. Some people would consider a contract instead. My goal right now is to get any interest (paid or unpaid).
