Galactus is walking the mafioso streets and decides to approach the leaders and mobsters of the mafioso nation.

Can I have your attention my fellow mobsters of this mafioso streets? There's something that I would like to ask,I would say that this is pretty much of a debate/discussion because I know there will be different opinions shared on this topic but furthermore the question is "If a mobster comes back as a 2nd generation from either his/her father or grandfather should he/she be treated with the same respect as their ancestors were treated with or do he have to rebuild the respect again?

The floor is open for discussion.

Galactus then looks in the crowd of mobsters to see who will be the 1st to give feedback on the topic given.

RoRoG steps up so he can give his opinion about the topic that was presented by Galactus

Many people in this world of ours have bloodlines that were friends with many other bloodlines and if someone wants to respect a person due to who their parent or grandparent was then thats up to them. Usually it is mentioned ad nauseum that 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree,' and often that is the case but sometimes its not. I think the simplest way to go forward is to say that "I can't control how other people act or feel but I choose my own actions and how I respond to others." Due to this, along with common sense, every member of our society should do everything they can to act in a way that is deserving of respect. Whether their bloodline is a "famous" one or not doesn't mean anything when it comes down to it because your father or your grandparent doesnt work in this world but you do.

RoRoG leaves in order to find a taco joint.

Galactus then shakes his head in agreement with RoRoG.

That was a reasonable response and some good feedback my friend.

Galactus then look for more mobsters to give feedback.

I disagree i think that when your ancestor dies there child should have to work for what they had, like for example if i died when i served over seas and my son got drafted to the next war he would not automaticly become a sergant.

But that's my opinion

Galactus listens carefully.

I would have to say that was a good point that you made my friend, very good point.

Galactus then goes into deep thought.

Reads through his books of times past, and remembers all the fallen soldiers from every city he grew up knowing who has passed away... but their children remain

I know there a lot of thoughts about this, so I bring the idea of creating a legacy for yourself.. say you get so rich, you stash enough away to buy off the guards, put your son in a great position in the criminal world, buy a lot of protection etc.. if you worked this hard to create a legacy for your son, his life will be easier as a criminal I think we would all agree -

but even with all the money and riches, he will have to earn respect as a MOBSTER still - as we all know, you can be the richest mobster, the best protected but one day someone will get you if you dont play your cards right..

So in a way even though on the cover it looks like these guys get it right back, they still must work their way back up the ladder to the top but it sure helps you have a name and history attached to your name.. it never hurts to have a lil dirt on ya

Galactus is enlightened by what Striphe had to say.

That was one of the best feedbacks I have gotten on this topic. That was a very valid and good point brother.

Galactus then shakes Striphe hand and compliments him on his feedback.

" To be honest, if a Don or Godfather was murdered or died and their bloodline wanted  to get  into  the bussiness, I would respect them but watch them  I mean we all know a Son is pissed off that his father was murdered and will want revenge so I'd watch them and respect them do to the fact Respect goe's along way with people.

McCall once again ventures forth to speak volumes and confuse the poorly educated. its not necessarily his intention, but just how things seem to be. Perhaps his own education and wealth of experience has something to do with it.

Personally I think respect is a much talked about and ofter misunderstood concept. I too have heard the phrase the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but I have also heard the phrase respect is earned, not given. There are two kinds of respect in out world, but most only think there is one. There is the respect that is earned from deeds or accomplishments. I respect Gwarble as a great Editor, I respect him as the Street boss of LA, I respect him as a successful leader in his own right. There is also respect for one's fellow mafioso, something that should be engrained in all of us. Say for instance Deimne where to die tomorrow, the victim of an unfortunate shitting accident. Should his son have to start from scratch? I don't think so. I know Deimne, I know what he is capable of. I know therefore his son will possess the same genetics. Will his son be as good as Deimne? Who can tell, but he has the potential.

I have 100% respect for everyone. That is my default setting. Whilst I know what the Deimne boodline has done, I will be no more respectful of his son. I may expect more but that is a different matter. If his son is an asshole, I will loose respect for him, and he will have to work hard to regain it.

Should I show him no respect just because he's an associate? No, the reason being is he could one day end up my boss again. Sure I have a big headstart, I'm a Capo, he's a thug, but he could still make Don before me, and could be Tyrion's RHM when the poison kicks in and Gaius finally dies. Why shit on a man for no reason? If i show him no respect, he will grow up and not respect me, he might even hate me.

Respect is earned, not given... true enough but only when that respect has been lost or misplaced in the first instance. We are all men of honour after all, is it too hard to show a little respect?

Galactus is very impressed with what Robert had to say.

That was a great statement that you made my friend.Everybody wants respect but few get it because its indeed earned and not given like you stated. And also to answer you question, yes its good to show a little respect being that we all are men of honour and we prove to be that daily:)

Galactus is very amazed at Robert's feedback.

As mentioned earlier, the offspring(s) of a bloodline usually is judged based on the deeds and actions of his/her ancestors and for good or bad, they attract attention based on those merits.

You are born into the circle of people that your father/mother was part of, as a youngster you used to be present when your families used to celeberate the holidays together, you attended the same funerals/or each other family's funerals, and you as a kid used to play with their kids and grow up together and slowly "grow"  into your family and after a while take your father/mother's place when they retire.

There are however a time when you reach to a point where you start to ask yourself whether the path that your parents and grandparents laid down for you is the right one, if the loyalty shown and the blood that your ancestors shed for certain ppl was worth it, and if you are ready to cut that cord and reach out for yourself and change course...
I'd like to consider myself at such junction atm, too long have I and my bloodline continued the path that was laid down for us by former generations, but I remember the day when I as a youngster, after seeing my papi killed on his way to work, how I was wandering the streets with no obvious destination when I ran into Premeir, a man that I've only had admired from distance, he took his time and talked to me about friendship, took me in when i was without a home and asked me what I wanted to do with my life, if I wanted to work hard for it and was ready to start from zero

Having said that, I also believe that respect and loyalty is earned and should NOT solely be inherited due to the deeds and actions of your bloodline.

Galactus shakes his head in agreement to what Solonik had to say.

I totally agree with you my friend, valid point you made.

Report Post Tip

This can go the other way aswell, bloodlines that have been given the chance but failed to change their ways and thus earned the suspicious view that others have on them, always looking back and never ahead.

These people would arguement against what I have said in my previous speech and claim that it is a matter of pride/ and respecting your ancestors, that they wont change course and continue the work/heritage passed to you via blood and the past will guide your future actions, justifying their ideas with the arguement that blood can't be washed away except with blood i.e. vendetta, and this logic will poison the mind of their future offspring when they grow up in the same home containing those poisonous thoughts.
