Crazy Larry's used car dealership Started by: Topcat on Jul 15, '17 00:05

"Come on down to Crazy Larry's! We got everything Chevrolet, Ford, Lincoln. You name it we have it. We will not be undersold and we mean it! COME ON DOWN TO CRAZY LARRYS OUR PRICES ARE INSAAANEEE!"

You've heard his commercials on the radio. You've seen his face on billboards, on buses, and in ads in the newspaper. Crazy Larry ran Crazy Larry's used car dealership. Well he did at least until today when Topcat purchased it he decided to keep the name and keep Crazy Larry around just in case the government came knocking.

"That should do it. We're partners now."

Topcat would use this dealership to launder money, and run an illegal car theft ring. He'd send people all around Detroit and steal cars they would change their plates, respray them, and the next day they'd be up for sale right here. It was very rare that someone would recognize their car again. Other cars would be smuggled and shipped into the Port of Detroit. Topcat knew a guy in Ohio who would ship cars from elsewhere into Detroit.

"Well It's time to open up."

Located in Corktown the dealership was staffed with many salesmen. As you enter the showroom one of them walks up to you.

"Hey there welcome to Crazy Larry's used car dealership. How can I help you?"

Satan had been looking for a burner vehicle for some time now and his guys needed it to move some drugs in. After driving around town, he spotted the used car dealership.

Upon entering he immediately noticed Larry and how crazy he was. He immediately smiled and shook Larry's hand.

"How's it going, Larry? I need something cheap that can get me from point A to point B. Something you won't miss from the lot."

Satan laughed and took a bag from his bodyguard and sat it on a table in front of Larry.

"Here's about two thousand dollars. That should cover it right?"

Larry's started jumping up and down after looking at the man's bag of money.

"Right this way sir. May I interest you in a Ford Model AA? What about the Chevrolet Capitol?"

Larry showed the man the Ford first

"It's a nice truck that's been here for a while. Doesn't have any issues at all. We've been trying to get rid of it because it's been taking up a lot of space and we have a growing inventory."

Larry then took the man over to the Chevrolet

"Now this is a car. It's fast and it'll get you anywhere. I used to own one just like this until my ex-wife took it from me."

Larry's hands couldn't stop shaking he always got excited when he was about to make a sale.

It was time for a car, but Nikki didn't want to get scalped. She knew Topcat had passed (God rest his soul), and figured she could pinch a ride from his lot without anyone noticing.

She hadn't counted on Crazy Larry.

When she stepped onto the lot late one night, she had no idea he was still inside, finishing up paperwork. Imagine her surprise when she sat upright after hot-wiring a 1938 Talbot Lago T23 Teardrop Coupe and came face to face with Larry himself. Larry, and a nine-iron.

Fortunately, the car was hella fast, and Larry was an awful golfer who'd spent more time in the clubhouse than on the greens. He swung lamely at empty air as he attempted to give chase, but the Talbot was already turning a corner and speeding into the night.

Hasta Lago,  Baby.

Frank walked in with his friends looking for a  cream colored with red trim 1931 Plymouth Roadster.   He saw one two days ago and he know Detroit was the motor capital of the world.  He knew that he would love to cruise down the road with Nikki and he would be the envy of the city.  Frank spotted the care that he was looking for.  He paid cash and out the door with the keys and drove off the lot with the top down.

Crazy Larry was a strange man. He'd wake up at 5:00 AM in the morning everyday, open up the dealership, enter his office then sit there in nothing but his underwear. He'd make a few calls to his contacts asking them which of the stolen cars were ready to be sold in the dealership then he'd open up a drawer drink some whiskey call his ex wife and curse her out. In the meantime the dealership was pretty much empty making it a perfect opportunity for a guy like Eugene.

Eugene saw a beautiful black 1929 Lincoln model L. He broke the window with a baseball bat and started the car and drove off. In his mirror he saw Crazy Larry in his underwear cursing at him.

I know this is a car dealership but I'm after 2 wheels.

I've searched high and low for a motorcycle shop but to no avail. Surely you can help me. It's the motor city after all.

Seeing the old run down used car dealership with it's windows all boarded up Burnett is surprised when he sees a few cars still sitting in the lot. He spots a 1928 Buick Master parked in the lot all alone. Burnett looks around and finds a brick he picks it up and throws it at the Buick's window smashing it. Burnett enters the car starts it up and drives away, easy.

Jock hears the sound of broken glass and turns around just in time to see a Buick drive off in a cloud of dust...

I guess it's a kind of self service thing they've got going on here.

Jock finds a brick and spots a lovely Daimler Double-Six hidden away in the corner of the lot...

Dog can run pretty fast, but he decided that it would be a good idea to buy a car, especially for the seedier areas in Detroit and Philly. And where better to buy an auto than in motor city? He circles the lot several times before zeroing in on a Buick LeSabre. It's not in the best shape, but he finds an interesting pencil in the dashboard. The bite marks on it?  Who could they belong to?  Dog's mind reels as he sniffs the implement. After a time, Dog drops a wad of cash on the salesman's foot. Dog gets in the back as his bodyguard wordlessly takes the driver's seat. The pair pull away slowly in the large carriage.

When Silver woke up this morning, he looked outside. It was bright outside. Snow.. Damn he hated snow. It made things slippery, everything got delayed, traffic jams and all. It did look nice to have the streets and cars covered in a white substance. Too bad of the...cold?

Wait a second... something was off at the scenery outside... He lived here for some time now, and he knew exactly what was wrong. His driveway was empty. No tracks, just snow.

"Damn it! Fuck!" he yelled to himself. Now he had to walk. He hated walking.

Two hours later he passed by Crazy Larry's car dealership. He shrugged and figured he could go and have a look. Crazy Larry was known for his crazy low prices, so maybe he could get a nice deal out of it and drive away. Walking through the snow was nothing for him..

The layover from Chicago to New York had deposited Briya in Detroit, an unknown town with rather frightening occurances at play. Even the airport was a crapshoot where safety was concerned; gunshots rang out intermittently and it seemed unwise to remain stationary like a sitting duck. Dodging out of the airport and through the industrial section of town beyond it, she soon found herself on the verge of the business district. The first thing she spotted? A car dealership.

It had been closed a very long time, and most of the vehicles had been stolen or stripped bare. Briya weaved through the rusting remnants and headed straight for the garage area in back. In twenty minutes, she had the industrial lock picked on the metal door and was inside, gazing at the few vehicles inside the bays. The lot had been scavenged, the offices ripped off, but no one had thought to check the mechanic's bays. As she strolled past the three cars available, she saw that the first two weren't going to work...one had a missing tire and the other had the hood up...no telling what state it was in. The third, however, was not only obviously ready for the owner that was never returning for it, but was of some value, judging by the tarp that had been carefully placed over it after whatever repairs had been completed. Pulling it off, Briya nearly gasped as the tarp shooshed to the concrete floor.

It was old, but so well maintained it looked show quality.

A 1924 Rolls Royce boat-tail Silver Ghost.

And it was beautiful. Briya carefully picked the keys off the hook on the wall and got in. Then got back out. Bay door! In a few moments she'd heaved it opened and scurried back to the car, where she climbed inside and turned the engine over. It purred to life, of course it did, and as she pulled out of the garage and into the street beyond, a plane ticket could be seen fluttering out of the driver's window.

After searching around Detroit for a couple of hours Topcat finally found Crazy Larry, he was living under a bridge with the homeless who had set up a camp with a bonfire. After Topcat went to prison Crazy Larry made a bunch of bad investments and went bankrupt losing everything. It was no surprise that he found Crazy Larry with no pants, an ugly suit with holes in it, and smelling like garbage. Far removed from the man who was voted Detroit's most Handsome man in 1927.

"No no..please man. I thought we were partners... I can get your money-"

Bang. Topcat shot him in the head.

Topcat didn't care about Crazy Larry. He only used him because he was an easy guy to manipulate and the car dealership was the perfect place to launder money and help support Topcat's other criminal activities. Topcat still had to do one last thing before going back home to New York. He went over to the old dealership where the sign was missing a few letters and read Cay ay instead of Crazy Larry's.

Topcat was surprised that there were still a couple of cars left in the lot. They had a huge inventory thanks in part to his connections at the docks, and the hoods who wanted to make a couple of extra money would boost cars for the dealership. Topcat found the keys to the office where he always kept them in the mailbox. He went inside the office and underneath the desk there still a gas can just in case a situation like this one would arise.

Topcat took the gas can and spread gasoline all over the dealership and the remaining cars that were left in the lot. He then lit a match and watched as the entire place burned down.

Freelancer walked around the car lot, looking at the cars. He needed on that didn't stick out too much, not too flashy and not too shabby. In the back he spotted a van. "Yeah that one will definetely do the trick."  He walks up to a salesman and points over at the van. "How much for that one? And don't you try hustling me bub."

Bartolo is walking down the street when he sees Freelancer in a burned down lot in what used to be a car dealership.

"Are you alright man? They haven't sold cars here in a while the place burned down. Apparently the owner was mixed up with some bad people and lost the dealership."

Bartolo puts his arm around Freelancer

"C'mon lets get out of here before we get mugged by one of the local hoodlums."
