I really like Elder Scrolls Online right now. It's like Oblivion or Skyrim, but online. You can play by yourself or join a guild. It will match you with random people to run dungeons together. It's beautiful but doesn't require a ton of power to play.

Oh and there is NO monthly membership fee or anything like that to play Elder Scrolls Online. You can spend a lot of money buying sweet extras if you want, but I haven't and I'm still loving the game.

idk how serious your gaming is. but I hear MOBAs are cool. I only play Smite on Xbox, so idk many of them

Steam is a pretty good place to start looking for games, and a pretty common place to have friends on and the likes. Quite a lot of sales too, not to mention tags to narrow down what kind of games you want :P

Even though I often have complaints about Steam, it really is a great way to build up a game collection because it will allow you to re-download your games as you get new machines. It's also fun to get random or nostalgic games for cheap. I just bought Sonic Adventure 2 the other day and I'm loving it.

Steam is awesome for weekend deals

Steam is excellent - Humble bundle is also good when you can find some games you like for hella cheap. 

It might help if you could narrow down to a genre or two so that you can get better recommendations. 
Fps/rpg/rts/ grand strat/ tbg/ sandbox/sports/ fighting based/ something else entirely?
Also, do you want to focus on single player or multiplayer?
