New life in the Sin City Started by: Johnny-DeCicco on Aug 01, '17 22:39

Johnny stepped out of the taxi and onto the strip. When he left Philadelphia to come out West his goal was simple to make money and be respected. He walked to the back of the taxi and retrieved his luggage from the driver; tipping him a couple bucks. Johnny made his way down the strip and soon found his hotel.

Room for Johnny-DeCicco? He said to the front desk clerk.

"Yes,sir. I have you in room 808. Up the elevator and on your left. If you need anything please stop by and I'll be glad to help you, sir."

Thank you.

He slipped the clerk a couple bucks and headed to the elevator. Stepping off of the elevator he made his way down the hall to his room. He opened the door and entered. The room was clean and quite spacious. He closed the door behind him and locked the deadbolt. Placing his things on the floor, he then opened up the curtain a little to let some light in and view the strip.

I've got to find some work. Not going to survive very long on this chump change.

The sound of the engine running was deafening my ears as I sipped on my coffee. If Martin was not on a holiday right now, I wouldn't have to be here. Be back here in this place again, chasing down people in the hopes that something exciting might pop up. The taxi driver suddenly stopped, looking at me in the rear-view mirror. His eyes were telling me he wasn't about to unlock the doors unless I gave him the damn cash. So I digged into my purse and found some money. I gave it to him with relief because I could finally step out of this car that had a weird smell to it. I think I gave him more than what he needed but anyways he sped off before I could say anything. I looked up at the sign above me and it read "La Quinta Inn." I looked at the note in my purse and it read the same thing.

"So... I'm here."

The hotel was... decent. I mean, better than any cheap hotel I've been to and it was better than nothing!! I walked up to the hotel reception and I think the sound of my heels alarmed the woman clerk. She looked up at me, scanning me almost as if she had seen me before. Well she probably has. This place was a breeding ground for new blood, and you know how much my family loved that. They were charismatic, determined and ruthless. I just love it so much. It made me feel young, not that I wasn't!

"Uhhhh hello. I'm looking for a man who goes by the name of Johnny-DeCicco?"

"Oh yes Ma'am! He just came in a few hours ago. May I ask what business you have with him?"

I smiled menacingly. "Just call him and tell him it's important that he come down right now and speak with me."
