Born on the 10th of January, 1909, in Ofena, a small commune within the Abruzzo region of Italy, Carlo was orphaned at birth by a fire that claimed the lives of his parents. With nowhere else to go, he was taken in and raised by an old fishermen by the name of Gennaro, until his new caretaker died when Carlo was only 7 years old. Without any family left, adopted or otherwise, he decided to set out on his own in an attempt to make a name for himself, constantly traveling around Italy, sustaining himself by leading a life of petty crime. Years later, at the age 15, Carlo made the unfortunate decision of attempting to rob a Mafia don in the village of Savoca, but when his plan failed and he was caught his life was spared. Seeing an untapped potential in the youth, and being without any children of his own, Don Moscone took him into his home and his family, and allowing him to earn his keep with the Moscone Clan.

After serving his Don and adoptive father for three years, Carlo strongly desired to move up in the world and make a name for himself. He implored his father for a chance to prove that he could become a fine l'uomo d'onore, a man of honor, and after many efforts, he was given his opportunity. His father wished for him to go to America, and take the life of a man who had spat on his offer of friendship, and in doing so Carlo would be made a full member of the family. Arriving in New York City, Carlo was determined to find his target and return as soon as he was able to, along with all of the glory and respect that would come from completing his mission. Unfortunately, getting used to the hustle and bustle of an entirely new country and learning to navigate his way through the American underworld would prove to be much more difficult than initially thought...
