Cleo is half brazilian, half american. Joe, Cleo's father, met Eduarda on his vacation in Copacabana beach. The man fell in love with the gringa and took her back to the United States with him, where they married and had a beautiful, smart and very stubborn child. It was Cleo. She was first arrested at the age of 19, while smuggling 440 pounds of cocaine from Bolivia to Brazil. She was extradited back to States and served only 2 months of the time, as her family was rich and able to pay for her freedom. They had to take her out of the prison by force, as she was refusing to accept her father's money. She kept commiting crimes, which she mostly did for fun: stealing fancy cars only to wreck them all, beating white supremacists almost til death, destroying rich people's properties. But what she most liked was smuggling big quantities of drugs. There was nothing in the world that made she feel that way, like she was queen of all the fun. Sitting on a pile of cocaine and ordering her kingdom's subjects to take it from Colombia to USA or to wherever the hell she wanted. Last time she was arrested trying to smuggle drugs stolen from a rival family. They killed her parents and she was thrown in prison, where she suffered countless attempts on her life, but managed to fight back and survive them all, not without scars. She became the Smuggler Queen of prison and served 8 years. Now she's out in the real world and the only thing she can think about is taking revenge on the bastards that killed her parents and becoming Smuggler Queen of New York.
