So, The Old Regime is Gone. What's New? Started by: unbriDle on Sep 18, '17 11:23

The Disorder Regime is gone.

What's replaced it?

What defined the old?

What's going to define the new?

Was it all worth it?

Was it really so bad?

Why is nobody else asking these questions?

Report Post Tip
why should ask when you could see by your self
Report Post Tip
It's been replaced with a muteness across the board. Where you basically have no idea what the leaders stand for, want to see happen, or anything of much value.

Mercina have you gone out of your way to meet with anyone? I have a met a number of new people and leaders and have gotten to know exactly what they stand for.
Report Post Tip

This raises a very good question, if leaders cannot put in an effort, why should anyone else?

Here is the main issue I see with the muteness though, and this is based off my experience of individuals attempting to recruit me and off what I see. The approach to trying to recruit people has diminished. One individual actually tried the tactic of "If you don't join you will be shot". Now that in the appropriate way of mentioning it is not so bad, like giving someone the information that they actually do have time to check other families.

No one in their approach to recruit even mentions that. This makes me sad for the new people to our community because this means they are not getting the whole information that they need. They are not being informed that they can speak to other leaders, because not all leaders are the same. What's best for one person is not best for another.

So while the leaders are being mute, there are some sponsors that are half assing things in an attempt to just get people without caring if its a proper fit or not. I feel that removing the muteness from a leader and having them actually speak a little bit as to what they are about can only benefit people who are looking around.

unbriDle,

These questions have been asked, so you are not breaking the pattern in that way. They just haven't been answered yet and in that sense the question remains valid.

The state of our streets isn't so that many people just participate in random debates and give their opinion on the matter, so my advice to you is to add an explaination as to why you are asking these questions. What will the answers get you? That could give some more context to your points and that might in turn motivate people to join you.

Maybe just start by giving your answers to these same questions. If you start by giving your opinion on what the future should be like, I'll gladly reflect on that and if more people join in we can find the common ground that defines "our future" instead of ones isolated idea about it.

I do understand that you expected more debates about what happens now after the hectic times we came from. To me, it makes complete sense that we are discussing it and it's a bit awkward that we don't. Perhaps people find it hard to openly suggest change or direction in any other way than we have seen in the recent months. It could be there is a fear of those who played a big part during the late administration's reign, whether justified or not. Let's be honest that some of the key-persons of the administration are gone, but their influence and approach might still affect our streets. That might keep people from giving their opinion on the current state of things.

In that way I hear reason in Mercina. While leaders aren't solely responsible for street activity, this really is their moment to start showing identity and direction. Their approach to our community will be determining the atmosphere we all experience everyday. It can be negative, positive.. or well, just void.

Report Post Tip

JackRoover, that is true. I kind of hoped they would show something by now. As a person trying to decide and gain some motivation it would be nice to know where they see the future heading. What it is they wish to accomplish? What standards they have or lack? That sort of thing.

Mercina It's been a two way street for ages. At one point in time it was entirely on the civilians and thugs to reach out to our leaders if they wanted to join this way of life. You clearly have figured out that you don't have to join one of these families that is recruiting poorly in your opinion. These thugs are not being pressured, if they had half a brain they could join someone else if they feared they were going to get shot.

The topic of muteness in leaders is one that is in a position that doesn't come around very often in this world. With all that's been said and done in the last month or so our leaders are in positions of damned if they do damned if they don't. I have frequent contact with my crewleader, I cannot speak to the experience of others, but if there was ever a time where leaders could be understood for wanting to keep things in house this would be it.
Report Post Tip

Cherokee, not everyone has half a brain. But it is not unreasonable that this tactic could lead people to panic thinking they will be shot right then and there and join the first offer without knowing anything else. It is just a bad tactic all around without the proper information being given.

As far as it being a two way street, you are entitled to your opinion. It is always a good thing that someone finds where they feel best suited, so I am happy for you.

Report Post Tip
Thank God we have you to look out for the helpless. Might I suggest opening an agency to help the half brains. You could teach them all of your wisdom
Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

That's a good point Cherokee. The mud-throwing, which happened from both sides, didn't really promote a healthy street culture. And to be honest neither does the direction you and Mercina both take now. Agreeing to disagree can be done much more gracefully than what both of you display here.

But about that mud-throwing; is that a reason to now shy away? When a leader is confident about their opinion, they should just bring it out. Whether it's Cletus, Diogenis, Tobias or Firehawk; if any of those people or one of their colleagues would join us in the streets and make sense, I would support them. And with me, many others would. Sure, the bad examples are the ones that stand out, but other than that the majority here will be able to engage in respectful conversation, despite the differences they may have.

Leaders also shouldn't worry that they need to bring the solutions or debates, but just being part of the dialogue would be so meaningful. I am pretty sure that most of us are hoping for a rewarding experience, but most simply won't know how to pursue that. To me it's vital that we try though, before we all end up snatching purses from old ladies, talking about cookies and milk and die with a knife in our back before we even collected any significant memories on this side of the law.

I agree with you guys suiting with the crew is really important thing, there was only one empty spot on us to recruit so i asked my crew leader about recruiting that fella maybe he would want an empty spot to recruit.Having conversations while enjoying our booze and cigars is a really important thing in our crew .So my crew leader said to me that you can recruit him if he impresses you.He impressed me with his music taste i got him into our crew.

I am trying to mean that if a families members are not compatible they can not accomplish good things in my opinion , so rookies need to have the chance to think and crews need to be a little more picky with their recruits so life goes on well .

And the last thing i want to ask Is it real people threaten thugs to join ? This makes no sense

Report Post Tip

Everyone trying to earn their bones and build a name for themselves while trying to survive and make allies. The old "regime" is quickly growing and coming back with the help of folks while the new crop of leaders is trying to gain ground and prevent that from happening. A tug a war of sorts.

Report Post Tip

Cherokee, she just wants RobOakheart back.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

I feel the leaders should only speak if they want to. Some will be more outspoken than others, and we just have to accept that. Sure, I think it's great for the community if we engage in dialogue, and well spoken people like JackRoover are making that happen.

The organic flow of this world will take place in the coming months, and whatever happens - happens. There is only so much that can be controlled.

I truly hope for the best though, I really do.

Hi unbriDle, first and foremost let me point you in *this* direction. It's so easy to come out here and ask questions...randomly. Why don't you put some effort into your own self and it'll inspire others.

Malis shook her head before continuing.

What's replaced it?

Everything you see around you. Sure, it doesn't look like much now but it's been a week? A little more than a week? The way the last regime was taken out, struck down by the gods will leave our world like this. If another regime rised to power and took out the current regime you would see more action. A new regime will rise to power. They might live as long, longer or shorter.

What defined the old?

How they ruled.

What's going to define the new?

How they rule.

Was it all worth it?

What's your question here? Was it all worth it for the old regime? Was it worth it to the gods to strike down the old regime?

Was it really so bad?

To some, yes. To others, no. You can't please everyone and everyone has an opinion.

Why is nobody else asking these questions?

You ask this like you are asking really ground breaking questions. You aren't.

Once done with unbriDle's questions, Malis moves onto Mercina's.

If leaders cannot put in an effort, why should anyone else?

This isn't a very good question. It's not even a good question. I'm all for no questions is a stupid question, so please don't get me wrong when I say that hun, but I'm just correcting you from your clearly delusional ways.

This is a childish question.

To my understanding our community is coming out from a regime where being mute kept you alive. Where if you innocently said something that someone else didn't like you'd be killed for it. This mute inspiring tactics stretched farther than the streets. To the point where if you were active in our world at the time of the rogue you risked being killed for simply breathing. Keeping your head down, not attracting attention to yourself was a solid plan under the last regime.

Just like I mentioned already, it's been around a week since the last regime were all struck by a deadly bolt of lightning and you are all out here jumping down the throats of crew leaders.

Here's a very good question for you Mercina: If you were in their position what would you do differently?

I would also like to bring your attention over here where, oh my goodness a sighting of a crew leader! A real crew leader in. the. motherfucking. streets! Can't believe it folks check it out yourself!

And while I'm at it...

Malis pointed her finger down another way of the streets.

I know pointing is rude, but I feel like CletusKasady deserves some attention with his explanation in the streets

Please explain to me again how every single person is mute.

Report Post Tip

It's actually a very reasonable question. A leader is supposed to be a role model. People often want to be in those bold shoes, but they come with responsibilities as well. Some of those are behind closed doors, yes. There are others though, and being able to communicate is one hell of a thing to teach people.

In our community, most people go with what the majority goes with. To do anything different is very rare. So if majority of the leaders are silent, do you think that there is going to be many people putting in the effort? My guess is probably not.

Report Post Tip

Mercina, do me a favor and stop being so pessimistic!

Malis smiled cheerfully at Mercina.

I totally get it. It's way easier to call out crew leaders on being mute when you have no clue what's going on behind the scenes that put in effort yourself. Then blame those same crew leaders on why you can't be assed. It's a nice little cycle where you can deflect everything away from yourself.

A leader is a role model. You can skip over the "supposed to be" part unless what you're trying to say is "A leader is suppose to be a good role model". At the end of the day a leader is going to be a role model to someone, somewhere. It's your opinion if they are good or bad.

You know how people say it takes a tribe to raise a child? A person, fresh off the boat from the old country will learn how to navigate our world by their crew leader, but also from a whole bunch of other people. To think that crew leaders are the only role models is ignorant. Open your eyes girl.

Just as Walter-White said, some crew leaders are going to be loud and others may be considered silent. I don't think we should discredit members of their crew by placing them under the umbrella of their crew leader's public voice. A crew is made up of much more than just a leader. Are all those members nothing to you? Do you only see those in bold suits? Must be if you have such high expectations on recruiting ways. Who are you? A gangster looking for a safe place to sleep and protection from others. Why don't you join a crew, play your part and see how things go. Or you could continue to be dramatic as fuck. Whatever works for you, doll.

Malis...  Any relation to...  Melis?

unbridle, can't you tell the striking resemblance that Mercina has for Melis. Malis is someone else entirely, I'm sure.
