The Capazzo Syndicate Started by: Capazzo on Nov 03, '17 00:08

Capazzo looked into the mirror, he made sure his pin striped suit was in order. No creases...check. His tie was straight...check. His hair...whose kidding...his hair was always immaculate...CHECK. Capazzo couldn't help but feel a little nervous. It wasn't often Don Torretta called him into headquarters like this. This seemed like official business. The last time Capazzo was called in he got his bones so it couldn't be that.

He sat wondering what it could be. With the recent events taking place it could be about the future of the crew, perhaps South Side or maybe Chicago altogether. Capazzo and Don Torretta also discussed a few business ventures. It could really be a wide array of things. Before Capazzo could wrap his mind on a handful of ideas, the time was here.

Cesare Torretta's door opened. Capazzo stood tall and felt a calmness come over him. Whatever the news was he was ready for it, he'd given everything he had to the fine city of Chicago, to South Side and to Don Torretta. He was ready to follow is fate no matter what it held. Capazzo walked into the office and there behind the desk sat the boss.

Capazzo slowly walked over and leaned in to shake the bosses hand...

Cesare watched his friend enter the office. He seemed stoic, if slightly nervous, which made Cesare grin slightly. He shook Capazzo's hand as he approached the desk.

"Take a seat, Cap, this won't take long."

Capazzo sat in the chair opposite of him, and watched intently as Cesare began,

"Capazzo, I've been working with you ever since I moved to Chicago. We were together in Broadway, you were working for the Godfather when he let me set up the Dead Poets, and you've been turned into a Dead Poet yourself. There's not many people in the world that I've spent more time with, or that I trust more than you."

Cesare leaned forward, setting his forearms on the desk between them,

"With all that's been happening across the country, it's finally time to build something new. South Side needs a crew to work with the Dead Poets to bring in a new time of prosperity. I can't think of anyone better to lead such an expansion...than you."

Cesare watched as Capazzo's eyes grew wide.

"That's right, Cap. I want you to set up your own crew in South Side." He stood up and extended his hand to the man with a smile, "Congratulations Capazzo!"

Although the Don was speaking at a normal speed and tone the words were coming in hot and heavy for Capazzo. He had vowed to take his life seriously and put his all in it and just a while later...this. This was going to be a new chapter in his life and he was ready for it.

"Don Torretta thank you so much for the kind words. I will do you and our fine city of Chicago proud. I will continue to expand our operations and help all the other fine leaders of this world in trying to rebuild these shores and make them the once prosperous and populated place they use to be. Thank you so much for this opportunity, I will not fail you and you will not regret this."

With that the Capazzo leaned in and hugged Don Torretta. He took a deep breath and was ready to enter this new journey.

Congrats Capazzo!  You and my father grew up as peers, learning petties together. I know he always enjoyed your company and your attitude around the family hangouts, and I'm thrilled to see that you'll be able to take your special flavor to the next level and share it with more of our community.

I just hope that you still have time for the occasional game of poker!

"I just have to say that you're beautiful.  So strong that you can hold up to any force that comes at you and I just couldn't be more proud to know you.  You're an inspiration to the entire city of Chicago. Everyone who has ever looked upon you can not deny your brilliance and truly could any other choice ever have been made?"

"Capazzo couldn't have become a crew leader without you."  Lucy wipes away a tear.  "It's so great to see you all grown ... my sincere congratulations to you... Capazzo's hair."

Lucy dodges any playful retaliations Capazzo might give while laughing.  "I'm joking!  I'm just joking!  SERIOUSLY!  Congrats hon.  This is well-deserved."

Congratulation Capazzo, this was only inevitable to happen. A hard working, unique breed of mobster with extraordinary hair. You were destined to take control of your own syndicate. I know you'll run a great crew and an inspiring role model for the newer generation.

Best of luck to you my friend.

Uncle Joe couldn't wait to come by and congratulate one of his oldest friends. The two men had known each other and worked closely for years. Old Joe had nothing but respect and love for his dear friend Capazzo.

"Brother I knew this was coming. Hard work, smarts, common sense and dedication pay off in this thing of ours and you're a shining example of how a man should come up in this world."

Having said his piece Uncle Joe reached out and firmly shook Capazzo's hand, quickly pulling his friend in for a brotherly embrace.

"fino alla morte"

Vesper, with her hands in her pockets, appeared at the edge of the crowd as Capazzo was walking away.

Congratulations, Cap. Your hard work is evident, and I hope to see you accomplish the great things you're capable of. I'd have a gift for you... but, well, you cleaned me out too thoroughly in the last poker game. Good luck, my friend!

"Congrats darling!  No one deserves it more than you.  You have worked hard and built yourself a solid foundation on which to build this next chapter in your life.  I am so glad I get to be on this wild and crazy ride with you."

Charlie leans in and kisses Capazzo's cheek hoping it wasn't seen as to forward on such an occasion.

"I wish you the best of luck in this thing of ours, and I know you will do well."

Louis heard the news. Weeks ago. Or was it days. He'd have seen Capazzo directly to congratulate him, but he had more pressing issues. Six empty bottles of cheap pick me up and slap me around scattered through his apartment, and the vague memories of suns up and suns downs.

And was it really a congratulatory thing? He never knew how all this shit worked. He'd heard of people being brought into some inner circles. How they'd then be employing more under them, and more so, have a higher cut in profits and respect.

But Louis only heard rumours. He was a simple driver. And cared more for not caring, or trying to drown himself in streams of unconsciousness so he couldn't face the thoughts that slapped him in the mirror every chance they got.

He flicked off the cap of a newer bottle and poured himself another, to go with a pill. He'd see Capazzo, soon enough. Now, he had more pressing matters to attend to.
