101 Stealths don't land in jail when jails are thrown Started by: Squishy on Nov 14, '17 01:28

Okay let's look at how they both work, info and stealth.

You can't train stealth but you can roll 100. Awesome and easy. Now you can use hustle points and easily get to 101.

Now info, even if you roll 100% you still have to work at it. Constantly. And even when you post the boosts don't last forever. It is a constant work to keep your info remotely close to decent. Tiring even.

So to me it is unbalanced when one end of it has to work so much harder than the other end of it. It becomes that stealth would be the most prime choice and info would fall to the wayside.

(Of course this is from my own understanding and experience.. Yours may be different).

Report Post Tip

Naturally, I'm all for this. I can see the opposition from those who usually roll info/those who post a lot in order to see more people, but at the same time...maybe this will encourage Upper Structures to promote posting more? My big thing is this, for info, it can always go up. Sure it takes forever to max your gun, and it still takes a considerable amount of effort to see everyone, but it is very possible. Stealth doesn't get that chance (except via Hustle points, now).

I'm not opposed to seeing info people get 50% chance to not get thrown in jail either though... I don't know if that would cause too much of a problem in terms of filling jails when they're spawned, but that could be addressed I'm sure.

From a realism point of view, people who are stealthy would likely be harder to find/bring to jail, surely. At the same time, those with high Street Smarts would know people are looking for them, and be able to evade them a little easier?

Either way, as long as this is isn't 100% don't get thrown in for either, seems decent.

PS - CAN WE PLZ ALSO GET THE NO CONTACT THING FROM JAIL PUT IN?!?!? :S

FayeKinnett, "Now you can use hustle points and easily get to 101."

It is easy to click the button, but in case you didn't know, buying stealth after 100 costs 86 Points.

It'll take some effort to do, kind of like how killing someone is as easy as pressing the button, as long as you put in the effort beforehand.

Report Post Tip

Did this ever end up being implemented?

Report Post Tip

Almost certain of it HandsomeRob.

Squishy - confirmation?

Report Post Tip
I’m pretty sure it was changed or at least the chance you are out in jail is reduced with high stealth.
Report Post Tip

Aye that's what the change was, lowering your chance by 50% to be thrown in jail when offline if you have 101 stealth

Report Post Tip

At least that's what I vaguely recall. I guess I could go re-read it. Words and stuff.

Report Post Tip

There is just no announcement announcing the change.

Report Post Tip

Really sounds like an interesting new thing to put in the game.

Report Post Tip
I like it. Solid +1
Report Post Tip

This is something I can get behind.

Report Post Tip

To everyone saying this devalues Info, you've actually got it backwards. wihtout this, any schmuck with no info can use jails to 100% circumvent the info vision system when someone is not online. So with this in effect, your high vision that allows you to see high stealth whether they are online or not is more valuable, and a system that jut eliminates stealth under a fairly easy to find set of circumstances is balanced with the rest of info/stealth

Wanted to give this a bump. A large % of the responses to the thread seemed to be very positive but it doesn't look like this suggestion was ever implemented into the game.

From my POV I would echo the sentiments of the previous poster. Seems very wrong that someone could invest a hell of a lot of 'work' on an info account & yet anyone can locate any offline stealth person just by throwing some jails.

Does anyone have any further input for or against this getting put into the game?

Report Post Tip

Earlier responses indicate it was added to the game already. If not, this should be added in. I would actually go a step further and suggest you can only throw a jail to include people you can personally see + staff to make info and stealth both more valuable. 75% of the time will likely just mean people throw more credits at jail rather than build their info or include more info people within their circle, which I guess is part of the reasoning too.

Report Post Tip

I was advised by helpdesk that this hadn't been added into the game & to revive the suggestion to see if it gained any traction.

I would also +1 your comment of only people you can personally see + staff making up jails. Given the huuge amount of credits now floating about I cant see this causing too many issues & would help run the surplus of credits in the economy down somewhat.

Report Post Tip

With all the positive responses, I am surprised this hasn't been added to the game

Report Post Tip

I don't know which member of the HelpDesk you spoke with, but they were incorrect. This has long since been implemented - Kruppe.

Report Post Tip

If it isn't implemented to date then a def +1 from me guys.

Unfortunately it is only a suggestion that hasn't been added into the game. Feel free to revive it though as I'm sure it might gain some traction.

I have heard some anecdotal evidence from friends (They log in to the Your sentence is up message when on 101 stealth a hell of a lot) that this hasn't been implemented as well as the above comment from Toby

squishy can you confirm if this is in the game or not please? Many thanks.
