Sitting around enjoying espresso with Don Capazzo and his Under boss Wrench, Uncle Joe Ligambi had to bring up an opportunity of chance. As the family's Consigliere, Uncle Joe sought to establish himself and other crew members in various legitimate areas of employment around Chicago to keep up appearances in the community and provide a legitimate source of income should the IRS come knocking. Uncle Joe had recently learned of upcoming elections for local union heads in two very prominent Chicago union's and wanted to make sure that the Capazzo Syndicate didn't miss out. Local 185 Port of Chicago dock steward which was responsible for assigning union workers for the loading and unloading of cargo and would know everything coming and going of value from the docks. They would know the routes of trucks transporting goods that could be hijacked and unloaded to local fences in the neighborhood. The local dock steward would also be in charge of overseeing the union pension fund. Something easily skimmed for various criminal endeavors. A position he thought best filled by FrankieFerrantino. The other position up for election was in the local 345 Concrete and Iron workers association. This leadership position in the union would allow for bid rigging contracts on all public and private work protects to family connected companies and inflation on all projects that went on in Chicago from government to private. As the Union leader of local 345 concrete and Iron workers association, one would be able to extort payoffs whenever a union group got a construction job or in effect could get workers to slow or halt construction if contractors or developers didn't make the right payoffs or meet union dues. One would also be able allocate no show jobs to various crew members of prominence. Uncle Joe was a natural racketeer and when he learned of this position he instantly saw the potential for himself and the family. He could easily handle multi million dollar projects. He may have been from the old country but Uncle Joe was smart. All Uncle Joe had to do was send some boys from the crew down to the local union voting drives and have them sway a few voters in the right direction. Something easily done by members of the Capazzo Crime Syndicate. All he needed was the okay from the Don to crack some heads |

Frankie sat on the side of his bed as he lights a smoke and then dumps the remains on the ground. He gets up from the bed and walks to the front of his bed. He reaches under looking for his Magnum revolver. He finds it beheind a box and grabs it bringing it out. He takes it down the hallway and down the stairs and then down another hallway to the basement stairs. He goes to one of the shelves in the basement and finds a box of .357 ammo and puts it on a dusty desk. He throws a bunch of paper to the side and begins to load the cartridge with the rounds of ammo. He puts it in his right pocket and then he hears a car horn coming from outside. He goes up the stairs and locks the basement door beheind him. He goes out to his front yard and see's a car waiting for him. He slowly approached with caution and has one hand on his revolver. In this business you learn too be careful or you end up six feet under. The back window slowly opens and I see the familiar face of Joseph_Ligambi, good ole Uncle Joe has a great white teethed smile on his face. "Frankie we need to go somewhere get in". The door behind him opens and I enter the car. Inside also is Sal_Moretti and Donnie_Balistieri I give them a slight nod before Joe begins to talk. |

Sitting in the car with FrankieFerrantino Uncle Joe takes a moment to introduce him to the two other men with him. "These are friends of our's. Sal_Moretti and Donnie_Balistieri . They're gonna be helping you out today." Uncle Joe motions to the driver to pull away and start heading towards their destination. "Frankie, I brought you and the boys with me today because youse guys have to put in a little work." Joe goes on to explain to the guys that things were gonna get a little rough today. "We're going down to the Union elections today and youse are gonna sway some voters to make the right decisions in the voting booths. We're looking to clinch the vote for me and Frankie boy. I've got baseball bat's and brass knuckles in the truck. I don't imagine youse need much more than that." Pulling up to their destination it seemed like now or never. |

Frankie knows the job and takes it without hesitation, it does not sound to be much of a worry. He made sure Sal and Donnie were all ready for this as well. The car pulls up to the side of the docks and I look around to see if anyone is watching before I exit the car. i grab a set of brass knuckles and put them in one of my open pockets. This could not turn violent and he does not want too start anything unless he absolutely has too. Walking in with a baseball bat might be an overstep but it made for a good show of force. He walks around the corner and into one of the warehouses. Inside and to the far corner is a long desk holding the votes. The line has about twenty to thirty people in it. At the desk is four older men who are taking the votes from the Union delegates. We walk in and you can already feel the eyes falling upon us. One of the men at the desk begins to talk and we continue to walk forward. He continues to walk straight up to the man who is beginning to talk. "Now before you waist my time here let's get something straight everyone, you all are here to vote for two men, me and Joseph_Ligambi. We are the Union heads these locals need but they just don't see it yet. Did you know violence in the streets has gone down ten fold since we set up shop in Chicago?" You see that swayed some of the men and women in the line which is a good sign this might not need to get violent. But two men approach me and one gets inches away before he begins to speak. "Don't let these thugs persuade you to make a bad decision here. Vote how you want they won't hurt you." He looks at the people in line and then back at me. He might swade people and we cannot have that. Frankie grab's the brass knuckles from his pocket and he lands a uppercut that makes the man fly backward landing on his head as he hits the warehouse floor. "Now you obviously don't understand but the situation here is mandatory there is no way of getting out of it. You either vote for us or get hurt". A old lady in the line begins to cry and I come up to her. "It's okay one vote won't hurt, just make the right decision here, okay!" I instruct Sal and Donnie to take the man outside. They drag his unconsciousness body outside and then come back inside the warehouse. The delegates move in a fast orderly fashion and all vote for me/Joe. When the crowd scurries from the warehouse it only leaves the men behind the desk. I walk up to them as Sal stands behind me twirling his bat around. "So are we going to win?" The one closest to me looks up and his hand begins to twitch before he answers me. "I mean after that you have a good chance of winning the election." I nod my head in agreement and then I look over to a man who does not seem to be scared. We cannot take chances here if he rats us out we go jail for assault and other charges. "So we got a tough guy over here I see!" He looks at me and looks away. I make a motion and Sal's bat smacks the man's face with a horrible crunch and you can hear as the impact breaks his nose. He holds his nose as blood fills his hands and pours out from the openings of his hand. "So we get the message here right? If you talk or we don't come out the victors in this end we will come to your house in the middle of the night and nobody will know what happened. Capeesh?" They all nod there heads in agreement and I walk out of the warehouse with Sal and Donnie. We jump into Joe's car and we get the fuck outta there. |

Sitting in the car waiting for the boys to come back Uncle Joe couldn't help but think of all the possibilities these union potions could provide the family with, when all of sudden Frankie burst's around the corner with Sal_ Moretti and Donnie_Balistieri going full speed right behind him. They jumped in the car in a hurry to get out of there. Uncle Joe motioned to his driver to take them to his pork store Salumeria Biellese. Uncle Joe had much to discuss with Frankie Shots about how they would operate the unions for the family. It was going to take a lot of hard work but they knew that going into it. Feeling like he needed to go the extra mile for his guys Uncle Joe spoke up. "I feel like we need to celebrate a job well done. I sure could go for a good steak and a nice stiff drink at Delmonico's." Uncle Joe redirected the driver to Delmonico's. One of the nicer more luxurious steak houses on the south side. The men deserved a good dinner to cap off the day and Uncle Joe knew how to take care of his pals. |
