Luca sat in the back of his car after leaving the bosses office. He prided himself on knowing what the boss wanted and having handled before the boss could ask. This meeting, however, he had not seen coming. After the meeting, he climbed into his car and told his driver to take him to Sal's Steakhouse.

On the way, he lit a cigar and thought back to the day he joined with Uncle Joe. He was so young, green and reckless.  He chuckled to himself as he remembered how it was nothing for him to rush headlong into a situation and not even consider the consequences. Too many times he had been in a gunfight and was laughing and excited about the whole thing.

He took a long puff of his cigar and shook his head as he looked out the window at the city of Chicago.  He marveled at how it had recovered from the war-torn place it had been not that long ago. He remembered how he first met MarieCosta – setting up a path for her and her goods to get through the battlefield that was Chicago and how he watched her rise through the ranks and became Sal's RHW. It was shortly after that when Luca was made Joe's RHM.

Being Joe's RHM was the something he never expected to achieve and he was honored to be Joe's underboss. He had planned to stay there and help him rebuild this great city, and they had done a lot of work in that aspect. The city was up and coming and things where growing and expanding and that had led to today's meeting.

The car pulled up to Sal's place and Luca got out followed by his most trusted protectors. Once he entered he was directed through the crowd of people to the head table that had been set up. Walking behind the table he said a quick hello to Roadrunner and Rumrunner before reaching his spot at the table.  He turned and addressed the crowd.

"Ladies and Gentlemen I just wanted to thank you all for coming. I will do my best to make this quick and painless. Earlier today Joseph_Ligambi called me into his office and told me I was going to be going out and starting my own crew here in Chicago. I was shocked and honored by this and will work hard to grow and strengthen this city.

My plans are just that to continue the great work that Uncle Joe has started and build up this community with hard working individuals and help bring Chicago back." Luca takes a sip of water before continuing.

"I want to introduce you to my RHM Roadrunner and his wife and my LHM Rumrunner. They will be here if you ever have questions or concerns.I want to again thank Uncle Joe for all his guidance and for him trusting me with this opportunity."

Marie smiled warmly.  She had gotten to know Luca quite a bit since they had become Right Hand Men and she could say he was a true friend.  She knew how much he loved this city and the family that was committed to making her come alive again.  He definitely had earned this honor and she had no doubt that he would excel in the position.  Faced with the realizations that there would be no more RHM dinners shared between them brought some sadness to her, but they would have other opportunities to get together.   Not as equals, but still...

Standing up, Marie walked over to Chicago's newest Crew Leader and gave him a customary kiss on both cheeks.  "Congratulations Salvatore Lucania!  I am so excited for you.  Chicago just gained a great leader.  I know you will do good."  She smiled again and gave him a nod before moving away so that others could come and pay their respects.

Rum nodded in greeting as Luca walked by before giving his speech. She waited patiently to the side, allowing others to approach him first once he was finished. She would have more than enough time to congratulate him, working so closely together now. Having been in Uncle Joe's crew alongside Luca, she had grown to trust and even respect him. Though she considered him a friend, she was a little surprised when he asked her to join him in his family as his Left Hand. Of course, she couldn't turn an opportunity like that down. Working together, she knew they could build Chicago back up to the great city she knew it could be.

Roadrunner sat quietly as Salvatore_Lucania spoke. Things were still a little unreal at the moment. All he could do was think about everything that had happened and where he had started, the new start, the deaths, and then another chance with Uncle Joe, a man who had come to be so much more than a boss. He was a friend and mentor, a man who had earned Road's respect and trust. And then he started thinking about the man speaking, another man who had earned his respect and trust. He could not help but feel true pride that he was being asked to take this position and be a part of building a family that will be remembered through many generations. As Marie finished speaking Road stood up, waiting for a moment before he spoke, looking out at the room of family and friends.

I want to start by saying what a privilege and an honor it is to be standing here with you all. I am proud to call you all family. I look forward to seeing this city grow to the height it once was at. To Uncle Joe for everything you have done for me, I will never be able to tell you how much it means to me. I will always be grateful. Thank you. To you Salvatore, I am honored that you have given me this chance to help you and we all know you are going to need it. Let's build something great.

Uncle Joe had just finished closing up shop for the night. He had a big day and still had to swing by Moretti's steakhouse for dinner. He knew the family would be gathering there to celebrate the big news. It wasn't often Uncle Joe named a new caporegime in the family. He jumped in his car and made his way to the celebration. On his way in, Uncle Joe passed by another one of his Capo's, Sal_Moretti. Sal had been operating on the South Side and been doing good things. Joe was a fixture in his friends steakhouse.

Making his way to Luca's table, he could see the Runners at his side along with the Lovely MarieCosta mingling at the bar in the distance.

"Glad I could make it before it got too crowded. I just wanted to come by and show you three some love. Luca, you've been amazing in every way. I saw something in you early on, a like minded thinker.

Uncle Joe takes a seat and continues to speak.

"Luca, it was obvious to me that you care about this thing of ours and all ours friends and family. That is always something a guy like me can work with."

Looking to his Runners.

"Road, Rum, you two have been instrumental in the rebuilding of this city. I know the three of you will do well on this new venture. I'm just glad I was in the position to make it happen."

Uncle Joe poured himself a glass of wine and raised it to his friends.

"Alla famiglia e ai legami che ci legano"

Toasting to the trio, Uncle Joe felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. He had the best family a man could ask for and was about to order the best Steak in the best Steakhouse in town. Life was good.

A large Italian man approached the table carrying a gift box wrapped in paper and a red ribbon bow.  He removed his cap upon reaching the new Don at the front of the room.

"Good afternoon, I am Clemenza and I work for Ms. Frankie Messina who is a woman serving within the Nightingales operation out of Las Vegas."  He offered the box and from within his coat jacket a note."  After it's taken Clemenza will nod and step aside allowing others to greet the new Don.

The note within reads...

Don Lucania,

Kindest regards to you on this most important of days!
I regret that I am not there, in person, to share in the
warmth of your celebration and to shake the hands of
your many important guests - but we are eagerly
establishing ourselves in the city of Sin and these things
that I am working upon dominate a woman's time
mercilessly.

Just the same I have enclosed a small gift as a token of
my affection for you and the good people of Chicago.
I pray that the Windy City continues to thrive and grow

as my mentor Lucky Lucy always hoped that it would,
under your guiding hands and watchful eye.

Che i tuoi forzieri non siano mai vuoti ei tuoi
nemici non conoscano mai la pace; Rimango,

Francesca Messina
Known Affectionately As: Frankie

Sal was honored to have yet another great meeting take place at his Steakhouse. Sal watched as the other Sal in the family gave his speech to all of the people present. Sal thought to himself that night about the feeling he had when he was up there giving the same speech. It was a great one to have. Yet again tonight another great man stands up there to give the speech.

Sal sits back and thinks how honored he is to know a great man like Salvatore. He also begins to think about all the great things Salvatore will be able to do for this great city.

Sal stands up from his seat at the front of the Steakhouse walks up behind Salvator putting his hand on his shoulder saying...

"Congrats my friend this is very well deserved. I cant wait to see the great things you achieve over in central Chicago. I have to be going..have some things that need my attention. The rest of the food and drinks are me tonight enjoy it friend"

Sal then walks over to a man whos holding his jacket, puts it on, and walks out front to his car waiting for him. Driving off into the cool night.
