"Well that was one hell of an adventure", I smiled as I looked over at Syndicate. Syndicate looked up from the newspaper, I'm almost certain he was looking at the New York stock exchange. We were still on vacation for another day, but he was always a business first type. The money that he was involved with I don't blame him, always in constant contact with his bank while in Australia. Insomnia had finally given us the nod to take some time away and travel to Australia for a walk about. We visited different places in the aboriginal grounds and camped outside while we were there. As we sat in the airport I looked at my watch, it was 4:oopm and our flight was starting to board. We were set to liftoff at 4:16 so we were a little behind schedule it seemed. There were over 300 passengers that had to load this large Boeing 777-200ER. We were some of the last to board and both grabbed seats next too each other towards the front of the plane. Syndicate folded his newspaper and placed it in between both of our seats. "Can you believe that we slept under the stars and made our own food Roman?", Syndicate asked. This was something that we had both been looking forward too for some time so it was sad that it had come to an end so quickly. We were boarded and destine back for New York airport in 18 hours. It was going to be a long flight so we had plenty of time to reflect on our experiences. The flight attendant handed Syndicate and myself a few small bottles of liquor. I had made sure I smuggled back some of there whiskey with me under my belt in a flask just in case. We cheered as the plane took off and we were up in the air and on our way. Insomnia didn't want us gone for long, but knew what it meant to us both. After having a small meal and finishing off the whiskey I had brought in my flask Syndicate and I had both passed out. Waking up to major turbulence, the oxygen masks fell from above. The pilot came over the pa system and told everyone to fasten there seat belts that they were entering an unsuspected storm. Not quite sober enough to understand what was going on I slapped Syndicate hard on the chest to wake him up as he had drank most the whiskey. "Wake up the shit is about to hit the fan", I said jokingly. Syndicate was confused, but aware putting his seat belt on and giving me a serious look. We cleared the storm and everything seemed to be fine. Syndicate wasn't amused by my antics, but I was always trying to catch him off guard. Just when the plane had steadied out and the turbulence had stopped the pilot came overhead with an alarming announcement. "The plane is experiencing technical difficulties and we are going to have to make an emergency landing.", the pilot explained. I looked to Syn alarmed as we had a strict routine we had to stick too and any emergency landing was going to put us behind schedule. I looked over his shoulder and out the window, it was a large city. The skyline was full of large buildings, but we could be anywhere. He was not happy as he was already mulling over all of the appointments he was going to have to reschedule. The plane descended at a fast pace and we were shortly on the ground. The pilot came back over head with another message that cleared any questions of where we had just landed. "Ladies and gentleman we have landed safe and sound, but some of you may be LOST.", the pilot said. Welcome to Los Angeles." He explained that we would have to take another connecting flight whenever possible to get to our final destination. There was no telling when we were getting home at this point and we had already been on this place for 12 hours. We quickly got off the plane and were making our way out of the front exit so Syndicate could have a smoke. We were going to have to wait another 3 hours to catching a connecting flight back to New York when the payphone I was leaning on began to ring. I looked to Syndicate as if I was to answer it and he gave me the nod approving. To my surprise it was our boss Insomnia on the other end. "Change of plans boys, there wasn't anything wrong with that plane. I just wanted to welcome you both to your new home the right way, with a little excitement, he said as he chuckled to himself. I've already got your stuff backed and sorted on another plane heading your guys way, I figured you'd done enough traveling for today. I've also got two separate sets of keys for you both as I've stationed you in Downtown and Pasadena. Good Luck!" The call disconnected and I was left with a dial tone and blank look on Syndicates face. I hung up the phone and turned to his direction. "Your not gonna believe this", I said smiling to Syndicate. |

Insomnia was a little tired from being up all night and had a tendency to yell so Syndicate heard the entire conversation over the phone but he was still in disbelief, he turned his head to the side like a dog that was still trying to piece it all together. RomanReigns repeated the message for Syndicate so that it could confirm what it was he had heard. This time the information sunk in. He began to pace back and forth in the airport, looking out at the heat rising off the tarmac and the palm trees that bordered the airfield. "I could get used to this." He nodded and continued to pace. Roman was in his own disbelief but Syndicate was quickly strategizing everything, weighing his companies new strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. "I have been meaning to set up a west coast branch. The fucking subway was being dug under the old headquarters, makes sense to move." He continued to pace. "Flights to Korea will be shorter. Definitely strengthens our hold on the marketplace. I'll have to find a new place to get coffee." Syndicate pulled a pen from his jacket pocket and began to write in the margins of the newspaper. He spun the newspaper and continued along the side edge. "Okay! This is going to be fun. I've got everything I need" He said while folding his newspaper and tucking it under his arm. Roman pulled out his flask, spun the lid and turned it upside down peering into the vast emptiness. "Oh, first order of business, lets go get a drink, shall we?" Syndicate said to Roman who returned a wide smile. |

Syndicate was approached by a courier handing out newspapers nearby, eager to see which newspaper he was holding Wagner walked up to him to get a better look, "Is that The Fucking News?" Wagner asked confidently. "No sir, this is ummm... The Mafia Newspaper by Melvin, it's an interesting read, full of irony. I like to read it because the editor in chief does a Crew Leader of the Week award". |

Syndicate looks at the large print at the top and shoots a look to the purveyor. "Its not... Pornographic is it?" He looks over at Roman and then back to Wagner. "Okay, either way I'll take it. Free is in my budget." Syndicate takes a look at the stack of newspapers in his hand and cautiously picks up the top one. |

For, not the first time in twenty four hours, she wished she hadn't wore this stupid sunshine-colored dress on this 'day trip' to the City of Angels. Shopping, dinner, some laughs with friends - that's what it was suppose to be -- none of which actually occurred. Instead, she spent most of her time in LA laying very low, and hoping that she didn't run afoul of one group of mafioso or another. Frankie took a long drag on the last of her cigarette. She very rarely smoked; but when bullets start whizzing past one's head, one tended to make exceptions. Voices, raised louder than the general din of the public caught her attention. Just inside she could see a few men who she recognized from her short time in New York, gathered together talking to a gentleman peddling papers. She dropped her cigarette and crushed it with a twist of her boot; thinking to herself, a newspaper will pass the time. Walking over to the gentlemen, she dug into her purse - midnight hair cascading like a curtain around her face, she was careful not to reveal her gun. "Excuse me?" She said looking back up to Wagner, "I'd like a copy of your newspaper." She smiled at Syndicate and RomanReigns before looking back to Wagner. "How much do I owe you?" |

"A colorful name." She chortled. "Thank you." She reached into her purse and gave the gentleman a small envelope of money. "I hope this helps your operation continue. It's my pleasure to support people sharing their creative talents." She glances at the paper. "I wonder if your paper will be supporting business advertising?" She asked Wagner with an arched eyebrow. "I find these sorts of publications have gotten a lot of traction lately, and I'd like to draw some attention to a particular business venture of mine. This might be a great way to do that." She sighs, remembering that her business partner was no longer among the living, so it was back to square one in that area at least. "I had hoped to have a much larger budget for promotion, but my business partner has recently passed away." For a moment she seems truly saddened and then recovers just as quickly. "Just the same, advertising is always worth the investment. Can I give you a way to contact me so we could discuss the possibility?" |

Tony was making his way around the streets of Las Vegas when he heard about the move of Roman Reigns and Syndicate to Los Angeles to join them out here on the West Coast. He immediately went back to Villainy Inc. headquarters, but sent a man ahead to get Roman and Syndicate on the phone... I am very glad to hear that you will be joining us out here on the West Coast. I know that our time working together in New York was quite short, but I will always have my door open to you two fellas if you need anything. You'll find that the West Coast is quite different than that of the East, but I'm sure that you'll find that there are plenty of new things to enjoy out here. I mean, if you're ever missing home and don't want to take the long flight you can come over and visit my Delicatessen in Las Vegas. Tony smirks at his shameless business plug. So congratulations on this new chapter of your lives. I cannot wait to see what you two are able to do with the city of Los Angeles. |

Shaggs had been deep in his History books tucked away in his office as usual. He was deep into the history of Las Vegas and the West Coast. It was much to his surprise and pleasure when one of his Body guards came in and handed him a note from his Secretary. It seemed like his old friends from New York Romanreigns and Syndicate had decided to join him on the West Coast.
He was happy to hear that he'd have his former New York partners with him in Pacific time. He called his Secretary in and she sat down across from him.
Francesca, please take this down.
My friends,
I'd like to congratulate you on your move to Los Angeles. I'm sure you'll love it out here. The weather is much better and there is a whole realm of business opportunities that have been left virtually untouched. When you are all settled in I'd love to host both of you out here in Summerlin. We've got a new suburb of mansions that are just looking for new residents. I'm sure you'd love a new vacation home in the desert when you get tired of the beaches.
My Regards,
Shaggs
Please send that out immediately with a few bottles of whiskey that I have saved up in The Victorian |
