Opening Seattle for Business Started by: Syndicate on Jan 28, '18 15:20

Earlier this week the Crew Leaders of our cities met to discuss the fate of Seattle. The ideas were tossed around and discussed for some time. We discussed sending an auth from each city, we discussed a Free For All, and we discussed different competition ideas. The fairest and most ethical solution that we were able to agree upon was an application based system to get new blood authed into the new city.

Who can Apply?

Any member of our organization from any city may apply provided they are 45 days of age or younger.

What is expected of Seattle Crew Leaders?

Seattle Crew Leaders are expected to work together as a normal city. They are expected to attend Crew Leader meetings and report in just as we all do.

When can we expect to see Crews moving in?

The fairest way to decide who will be allowed to set up will be based on an application process voted on by each of the current city leads, applications may be submitted right now but please understand at least 4 votes must be made in favor before an application is approved.

Where do we fill out an application?

Please place your application in a Back Alley post and send it to Syndicate. Your Back Alley should be professional and explain who you are, why you are a good choice, and what you bring to the table for the city of Seattle and/or the community.

I will forward all applications to all 6 city leads and will update you when there is information to give. I personally am not voting on or even reading applications, I am merely organizing this to save time for our city leaders, any bribes sent to me are appreciated but will not help you in the least :P

All approved applications will be announced on this forum.

Thank you for your time,

Syndicate

Report Post Tip

I find a few problems and concerns, mostly problems with this proposal. First problem is it is a proposal and by you.  Secondly, this is addressed to "new blood."

Lets take a moment to discuss "new blood."  New blood has many meanings. We have actual "new blood" on these shores which have been authed for ones gain. We have "new blood"  whose "kin" surface and are authed for ones gain. Which "new blood" are you referring too? Both? Both are not the solution as to why you are talking right now.

And lastly,  please get more definitive with this expectation. If it is what I think it is I want to know why.

I_am_I_Said sees the problem here. New blood  my ass.

I_am_I_Said moves on to the next news piece with pride in all he does.

Report Post Tip

To clarify, this is the agreed upon solution, not a proposal.

As for the term "New Blood" it would seem there are too many definitions out there for this term, none of them were intended. To elaborate on this, the goal of the new city of Seattle is to authorize new Headquarters to people that are not currently leaders. That is it, this is literally open to anyone who is 45 days of age or younger.

As for the expectation of Seattle to be a normal city, we did not want it to be a second class city, a place where the leaders feel left out, on display, or like they are fish in a barrel waiting to be shot. The goal of Seattle is to send people there who are willing to work with each other and also be a part of our community. We would like to see them at the Crew Leader Meetings that we attend ourselves and when each city gives their report on what is going on and what is new, we expect Seattle to volunteer one of their Crew Leaders to step up and share what is going on and what is new with their city. In other words, everything we as crew leaders are doing to meet, discuss, and shape our world, so too will the Seattle Crew leaders. Yes this is a competition city, but rather than the rest of the world looking down on them, watching them; we wish to treat them as a regular city and support them just as we would each other.

The reasoning behind the 45 day age requirement keeps us from approving and sending someone who is 119 days old and 60 units ready to claim the city and force the others to work underneath of them. The 45 day age limit allows someone to be a Don on the start of their CL run but gives at least 75 days for them to work with the other Crew Leaders and establish themselves.

Report Post Tip

Thanks for stepping back out into the streets Syndicate. Yes there are many terms for "New Blood." For none of them to be intended is a first. So forgive me when I say, I choked on my laughter.

You stated this is an agreed upon solution and not a proposal. Yet there are guidelines which sure in hell read "Proposal". First off,  were the minutes to this "agreed upon solution" for all to review by current leaders on these streets? If no, why not?

Applicants must be 45 days or younger. This sure in hell screams proposal. Key word, "Applicants. " Lets talk about applicants. What is the average age of current leaders and GF's? Surely you see where I am going with this question. And they are granted 75 days to prove themselves to you and all other CL's! This sure in hell screams set up on the horizon.

The solution is right in front of us and that is the very threat. Get it?

Report Post Tip

Looking around for a bridge tojump off  in LV,  I realized I should hint on the solution. Although, I got a hunch this little gathering and with far many viewers on the tube know what the solution would actually entail.

You call this a "community" and I ask and dare you to truthfully define your version of "community."

Report Post Tip

I'm not sure why I stand here answering the questions and comments of a dead man... Again.

But it is possible that someone else out there does agree with you and may think this is some sort of plot to play favorites or a conspiracy theory. If we wanted that, wouldn't the crew leaders just say who is going, and that be that?

"Were the minutes to this "agreed upon solution" for all to review by current leaders on these streets? If no, why not?"

Every Crew Leader on the list was invited to the meeting.

Every Crew on the list had either a Crew Leader or a Hand attend.

Every Crew was given the opportunity to propose a solution as well as vote on the "agreed upon solution" (by the way the vote was unanimous)

Every Crew Leader on the list received the minutes of the meeting upon its completion.

The minutes were not posted on the streets, they were for Crew Leaders, but maybe you can see them if you have a trusting relationship with your Crew Leader (which I seriously doubt seeing as you can't stay alive or politely ask for information).

"What is the average age of current leaders and GF's?"

101.2 days old, how is that relevant? Godfathers are required to be at least 120 days, the real question is what is the average age of leaders when they were authed to take their own crew? I personally was 18 days old.

"granted 75 days to prove themselves to you and all other CL's!"

The leaders that are approved to set up in Seattle have nothing to prove to me or other CL's in those 75 days. Their applications are how they present their worth to the city leaders that are voting yes or no. The 75 days is there so that the city has a chance to work together and elect their own Godfather after they've had time to work with each other. We did not want someone to be able to move in and take Godfather on their first day which would prevent cooperation and team building.

I ask and dare you to truthfully define your version of "community."

Community is more than just a population of people in a designated area. Community is a group of people we lean on when times are tough; they are our friends, family and neighbors and I truthfully depend on this community from time to time.

'I dare you' to find a Crew Leader that feels like there is no sense of community among us. It is very rare that we have 6 cities fully populated and at peace with each other while also looking to expand operations into a 7th city. If you think we all act independent in our own little circles you are wrong.

Report Post Tip

As an update to the world, we have received three applications so far.

We encourage more applicants to step forward and tell us why you'd be a good addition to the current leadership.

Please let me know here or by mail if you have any questions. Thank you for your time,

Syndicate

Report Post Tip

For what it's worth, we do appreciate you coming out to speak Syndicate - lord knows you didn't have to.  \o/  Much respect.

Report Post Tip

Why are YOU promoting a 7th city when there is so much inactivity in the current cities districts?  Is fish bait running low?

Report Post Tip

I would like to agree with Frankie-Messina. Syndicate is doing amazing work.

Did your father or grandfather happen to see what happened to the lovely city of Detroit when there were no auths, Storms? The gods sent in a hostile crew to take the city over and it was only after sending crewleaders to establish headquarters there that the threat was eliminated. Would you prefer that we leave the city empty so that something like that or worse happened to Seattle?

Report Post Tip

Thoros, I would bank nobody in your corner including this Frankie person would disagree.  Anyone can see what took place in DT and what took place after the pussy move. Can you explain your point to the minority audience? Take your time drumming up a responds.

Report Post Tip

Sigh. You complained that Syndicate was helping to coordinate the Seattle CL application process when, according to you, "there is so much inactivity in the current cities". I directly responded to that comment. My point is that it doesn't matter how high or low activity in all the other districts is as the city needs to be filled. So you bringing up activity is pointless.

Report Post Tip

Activity is of vital importance. But of course your flippant ass could give a rats ass. On the upside, you get to feel and continue to feel important. Whatever your flavor is, carry on Thoros. I would think playing with ones self would be quite the bore.  But hey, whatever floats your boat man. Or is it woman?

Report Post Tip

Alex had been standing around taking particular interest in this speech and subsequent debate, his grandfather had taken up the position of crew leader in the situation Thoros had mentioned in Detroit. That, however, was a very different situation and not as friendly as this one. Suddenly he was surprised to hear the words that were coming out of Storms.

"Sorry to interrupt here but Thoros is not saying activity is not important Storms, he is simply saying that we cannot leave the city empty as whether we like it or not it will not stay empty for long. It is much better for us to take control of the situation before it gets to that point." After clearing his throat he continued to speak "However your words at the end of your rant were highly disrespectful and make you come across as a simpleton."

Report Post Tip

Hey Synidicate, Thorios, a CL is agreeing with you trashing all other thoughts. Does the 191 days make it all air tight?

Fuck your Seattle proposal. Ypou want a proposal, you got to buckle up  and I doubt you can handle.

Report Post Tip

Alex_Turner you best be silent. It better suits you at this point.

Report Post Tip

Who can Apply?

Any member of our organization from any city may apply provided they are 45 days of age or younger.

Report Post Tip

That there is a proposal and a joke.

Take a look at the birthdays of the few who surround this so called "PROPOSAL."

I could say KMA but it better suits you to do the kissing.

Report Post Tip

"At this point, I feel like you aren't trying to understand on purpose. It is much better for the new CL's of Seattle to be of a certain age so there is a common bar set, if there was no age set then you could have someone who is 120 days old apply and the rest could be 25 days old for example. The oldest could very easily walk in and be godfather and be the boss of the rest straight away. They are trying to avoid this situation. But the great thing about this is that if you don't agree with it, you don't have to apply. Very simple really."
