It was business as usual in Chicago for the Ligambi Crime Family. Uncle Joe had been dealing with a great many thing's recently and among them was a surprise for Salvatore "Luca" Lucania and his lovely new bride to be Marie of a honeymoon they wouldn't forget. Uncle Joe planned to deliver. 

Day's before his caporegime's wedding, Uncle Joe had received a letter pinned by his fathers former boss and his baptismal Godfather, Don Inzerillo from his native home of Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily. Uncle Joe was always close with Don Inzerillo growing up. Joe would spend most days playing with the Don's son, Giovanni in the nearby hills while their fathers managed their various criminal ventures. Things were different in the Sicilian mafia. The clan structure was challenged often. Joe grew up there in interesting times. For a while, Giovanni was young Joe's best friend in the world. The only thing that separated them was Joe's move to america in 1885 when he was eighteen. 

Uncle Joe had set up a massive transatlantic heroin deal with Giovanni some time ago. The Inzerillo clan were huge exporters of massive amounts of Heroin to the US. They brought in the raw Opiate base from Afghanistan and Sicilian chemists would process the base into the highest quality Heroin. They then used various methods to smuggle it off the island and to the intended destinations.

Uncle Joe was curious to hear what Giovanni's father had to say in the letter.

Dear Giuseppe

I'm writing to to you today with a heavy heart. I'm ninety four years old and we have a problem I never dreamed possible. My son Giovanni has been speaking to the Carabinieri. You know what this means. I need your help and it would be in your best interest to see this taken care of.

Uncle Joe couldn't believe what he had just read. His childhood friend and business partner was cooperating with the government. Uncle Joe knew what had to be done and could not hesitate on the matter. Don Inzerillo was like a second father to Joe after his own fathers murder by a rival clan.

Not wasting a moment, Uncle Joe realized he could kill two birds with one stone. Joe would look to send Salvatore "Luca" Lucania and his bride to be to his childhood home of Castellammare del Golfo to aid Don Inzerillo. Castellammare was a beautiful seaside town nestled among the Sicilian hilltops with stunning white sandy beaches and beautiful blue waters. It was every honeymooners dream and where he had gone with his sweet Marie after their wedding.  

Uncle Joe would wait till after the wedding to give the couple the good news at their reception. He would wait till the night before they were set to leave to let Luca know of the business that needed to be attended to while he was away with his new wife.

Sitting there alone in his back office at Salumeria Biellese, Uncle Joe poured himself a drink and started to go over some of the books for the family's businesses and realized he needed to make some changes in his city.

When Uncle Joe moved to the Loop to focus on his business venture's there, he sent one of his caporegimes, Sal "Sally Boy" Moretti to the South Side to help maintain the family rackets in the area. Sally Boy had done a bang up job and spent much time there overseeing the family's various interests. Uncle Joe was getting older though and needed his friend and capo's help back in the Loop. When Luca and Marie returned from their honeymoon in Sicily, Uncle Joe would look to send Luca over to the south side to be with his wife and maintain the family's strangle hold on vice, while Sally boy would return to the loop to aid the ageing Uncle Joe.

Luca was packing for the trip when he received word that Don Ligambi needed to meet with him before he left for the trip. So after he finished packing he told his new wife that he would be back after meeting with Uncle Joe. He grabbed Charlie and they headed off to the meeting. 

When the arrived he headed up to Joe's office and walked in. He walked over to Joe and shook his hand and gave him a hug. 

"Hey boss I heard you wanted to meet with me before I left. What is up?" he asked questioningly. 

Luca took a seat and pulled out and lit a cigar offering another to Joe. He took a couple of long drags off it while he waited for his boss. 

Sitting there with Luca and his lovely bride Marie, Uncle Joe lit his cigar and began to speak.

"I appreciate you coming in so quickly. I know you must be busy getting everything ready for your honeymoon. I have a little bit of news about that actually. I'm gonna need you to take care of something for the family while you're away. It shouldn't take more than an hour or so out of your trip. I've arranged for you to meet with Don Inzerillo and his son Giovanni while you're there to discuss the family's Heroin deal."

Puffing on his cigar Uncle Joe continued.

"During this meeting I'm going to need you to kill Giovanni... Don Inzerillo reached out to me and made me aware of my former friends dealings with the Carabinieri. Who the fuck knows what he's giving them. It hurts to make this order but its in everyone's best interest to handle this now before it gets any worse. I've already made all the arrangements. When the meeting takes place you're going to be frisked before you're allowed in with the Don and his son. You're going to have nothing but your bare hands going in there Luca."

Luca looked at Uncle Joe confused.

"I know it's not ideal but Giovanni has two loyal guards and you'll never get in the room passed them with a weapon. Once the meeting starts there will have been a gun planted in the bathroom by Don Inzerillo himself. You'll have to excuse yourself and to the restroom and retrieve the gun. When you make your move you'll have to be ready for the two guards to burst in. You'll have to take them out as well. Collateral damage I guess."

Uncle Joe poured two drinks.

"I know this is gonna piss Marie off to no end, I don't know what's scarier, going into a sit down without a piece or the shit storm you're gonna get from her." Joe laughed as he sipped his drink and puffed his cigar with Luca.

Uncle Joe had one more piece of business to discuss with his capo.

"When you and Marie come back, you're going to be moving your operation to the South Side. You've done well for me here in the Loop but it'll be good for you to be around your wife and spend some time working down there. Sally Boy Moretti will be coming back over here to aid me in all of our more white collar rackets."

Having filled Luca in on everything, Uncle Joe stood up to give him a hug and wish him well on his honeymoon.

"Don't get yourself hurt over there Luca, Marie would never let me hear the end of it." Joe chuckled.

Luca listened and puffed on his cigar. Joe was right about one thing Marie was going to be PISSED. He sat there thinking of the job he had to do. Two guards plus the target this wasn't going to be easy. 

"Well I thank you for leaving me with information that is going to piss off my bride on our honeymoon," he says with a chuckle. 

"The job will be done you know that. And if I get hurt or worse killed in doing this... I suggest you join witsec cause hell hath no furry" he says smiling. 

Luca thought about the other information.

"So you want me to run the SouthSide then?" he asked for clarification

Standing there with Luca and not wanting to go into more detail over anything in his office, Uncle Joe insisted he follow him. They made their way downstairs from his office and into the pork cooler.

"Yes Luca, I want you to run the south side while Sally Boy joins me back here in the Loop. I need his help and I feel you can maintain our interests on the South Side in his stead."

Uncle Joe reaches into a storage container and pulls out a nice slab of prosciutto and hands it to Luca.

"Take this home tonight and enjoy it with Marie. I just got it in today. I think you two will really enjoy it."

Uncle Joe opens the cooler door and makes his way with Luca to the storefront where Marie stand waiting, obviously concerned with why I had summoned her husband the night before they leave for their honeymoon.

"Marie my darling." Joe remarked.

"I'm sorry to have rousted him out of the house this late. I know you two have a lot to get ready before your flight tomorrow. I had some things I wanted to go over before you guys set off for the trip. I'm sending you home with some fresh prosciutto though. Please forgive me." Joe smiled.

Saying their goodbyes and exchanging farewell hugs, Uncle Joe was happy to be sending the pair on their honeymoon. He hoped everything went well for them, especially Luca.
