The man who list his daughter Meadow knows gun control is not the answer. Who are you to argue with him? |

| No I’m not. I simply possess the magical ability to view the issue objectively from both sides and to avoid cognitive dissonance. | |

| And you think teachers should bare the right to carry arms on school premises as well? While supervising your nieces and nephews ? | |

Do tell us about our objectives. And keep in mind this pertains to topics outside of game. |

I've not read the entire thread because frankly its such a topic that many can't even handle to speak about it without their own opinion clouding their judgements. However, in Scotland, we had 1 school shooting and we brought in a ban on the sale of guns. Guess how many school shootings we've had since? None. America has had loads already in just 2018. Something needs to be done. Why not gun control? Because your constitution said your entitled to have a gun? Well, didnt it previously say slavery was Ok? When that constitution was made, the gun they fired took a long time to load a second bullet. Its a much different world now than it was then. If I remember correctly, the entire point to having the right to own guns is to prevent the American people being unjustly ruled by a hostile government and thus gave you guys the ability to rise up - something that simply couldn't and wouldn't happen now. So really I would ask again - where is the need for a gun? I would advocate for allowing gun ranges and even official hunting grounds so that people could still enjoy the use of weapons in a safe and secure environment, but these weapons would be under lock and key and said places. Time would tell if such restrictions would suffice, but something needs to be done to cease the needless loss of lives of your children. |

You cannot site loads in 2018 in the USA because they do not exist. I am all to familiar with that one isolated killing in the UK and I do not disregard the victims and the teacher. My prayers went out to them. And my voice. The weapons used 9mm and Smith and Wesson. Sounds like a thug on the lose and ain't got nothing to my debate. |

NRA, there has been almost two dozen school shootings in the US of A already in 2018. Thats far too many for any year. We are in fucking March. |

One thing I wasn't aware of and just saw on that article; "In other words, this count also includes attempted or completed suicides and accidental discharges." That does diminish it somewhat, so i guess I need to look into it more for a true figure as I personally wouldn't count accidental discharge or suicide as a school shooting. |

So that report seems to be a big load of crap. The "two dozen" is more like 6. Im sure you'll agree 6 is still too much, but it does sound a lot less dramatic than "almost two dozen" |

FOX News sucks as well. You think they are better than CNN? Stop believing everything Republicans spout as though its gospel. Try accepting a view from outside America that has no vested interest in dealing in lies. If you look at the link I provided, it gives the locations and incidents, if you want to ignore that when reviewing those I found 6 actual school shootings then thats fine. But ignoring facts because it hurts you is the typical response from someone that doesn't want to change their mind and is ignorant to all evidence provided. |

Uhhh...I feel like that's not an accurate statistic. According to the NBC News article linked below, in 80% of mass shootings, they obtain guns legally. In the most recent mass shooting, he obtained his AR-15 legally. "A vast majority of guns used in 19 recent mass shootings were bought legally and with a federal background check. At least nine gunmen had criminal histories or documented mental health problems that did not prevent them from obtaining their weapons." https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/10/03/us/how-mass-shooters-got-their-guns.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/national/weapons-and-mass-shootings/
No, it won't, but, that's not the point. It's about making it harder for that to happen. People aren't calling to take all your guns. They're calling for restrictions on the most violent of those guns and better background and mental health checks prior to legally obtaining a gun. |
