Steps up to put forward his view Trust is very important here, Without it you will fail. But dont trust to much. Ive made the mistake, It can get you into sticky situations fast. For me in order for me to trust someone completely, they have to have gone out of their way to do something for you when you havnt even asked them to. What do they have to do? Well depends on the situation, Just something to stick out in your mind. A friendly gace can make you trust someone to easily... Careful who you trust but make sure you trust someone and can rely on them. Sits back and waits to see if anyone understood that babbling... |

It's not so much if you can trust a person or not, it's not so black and white. The question is what can you trust that person with? Your money, information, perhaps even your life. Trust is a long journey that can end in an instant. Trust in Our Thing is like a relationship between a man and a woman. You don't want to start things of to quick or they could end in disaster, nice and slow and if works out, it works out. If it doesn't work out with the small stuff, you obviously can't invest your trust of more important facets in that person's lap. |

Trust in ones self is really what this all boils down to. If you have confidence in your choices, make sound decisions and associate with likeminded people, then trust in others becomes a side issue. As long as you carry yourself in a way that you feel is honorable, and use reason and logic as a guide, then, beyond the atypical rogue scenerio, you will rarely find yourself in a position where another person puts you at risk by betraying your trust. On the other hand, if you lack confidence in your choices, are unsteady and unsure in your decision making, and associate with people who you don't consider honorable, you will have trust issues with other individuals, and you will have a difficult time trusting another person |

riri steps up to speak from her point of view. Trust is a big word for this game, but not used wisely. There are some folks out there, especially me, who has too much trust in others. I have loaned money out to fellow people and then that person dies. It sucks but what can I do. You learn from your mistakes. But since being here for awhile, you trust the people who have been here longer and know of. She steps back to hear other thoughts. |

| Trust is something I have definitely learned a lesson about. In this world, you can't trust hardly anyone. This is the mafia, you never know what people's intentions are. There are a very few that I would trust my life with. Those that I do, have earned it. | |

Bruce considers the others thought then decides to step forward In theory you should be able to trust everyone in your family however in reality this simply doesnt work. I personally have a small circle of close friends that i trust implicitly and then i wider circle that i trust to lesser extent Bruce steps back and waits to hear others thoughts |

How do you determine if you can trust someone? With experience and a good head. Experience tells you what you should and should not do, who to avoid and whom to trust. If for example, person X has failed you before, it is most likely hard to trust him or her again. This is true, most especially if you have entrusted person X with an important family matter. After learning from your past experiences, a good head is needed to arrive at a decision as to whom to trust. Distinguishing those who are dependable allows you to delegate tasks accordingly. You entrust delicate matters more to those who have proven themselves trustworthy and matters of lesser importance to others. On another note, there are times when you can also trust your gut feel. There are cases wherein you take the risk and leap. Even though you are uncertain of the intentions of a person you still place your trust on him or her and surprisingly, he or she turns out to be your most loyal ally, a trusted confidant and a new found friend in the end. |

I believe that in the society and world in which we live true, 100% trust is a fallacy or at least a bad decision. It is difficult to say what situation someone may find themselves in. Divulging information suddenly may become a great idea to your best friend in the entire world, simply because somebody has something to offer him that is worth more. It may be money, but it may be his friend's & family's lives. I am not to say that you should trust no one at all. Trust is something that must be earned through actions and words. It has to do with getting to know someone well enough to know that they wish you no ill will. Trust is something that takes time & proof. That proof may show itself in different form. Mostly, I think, it shows itself in loyalty. I am new to these streets, and I know that I will be wary of most people when they approach me. At first, at least. Even in my short time here I have gotten to know a few people whom seem like good folks & I believe that I can trust them to give me good advise. I guess in all of my rambling, my main point is that to really trust someone is a very difficult thing simply because of the lifestyle we have chosen. But I know that through family ties & just talking to people I will find good connections in this world. |

Moje joins the small group of people, and then speaks up. I would believe that pure trust, actually is one of the most attractive things in this world. I mean, it's like winning the lottery, the thought is nice, but i will almost never happen. Even though I've just statet that pure trust mostly exicts in our dreams, I am still of the opinion that you should still do your best to trust people. If you don't, it will never happen. Trust people. And don't make people who trust you regret it. - Moje |

While I agree with the sentiments of what you're saying Moje, in the end I have to disagree. In the world in which we live I believe that trust should be earned, and earned hard. Treachery and back-stabbing are a way of this world. It is even how some climb the ranks of power. Now don't get me wrong. I don't immediately treat everyone as if they were out to get me. However, I do keep a watchful eye and I don't give them any important information, cash, or anything until they have proven themselves trustworthy. |

I don't disagree with you at all. Some chooses the path of treasury. I have to admit, that I do not believe this path to be honorable, and it isn't a path i would ever choose, however, as long as it isn't treasury against my family, I can still get along with those who choose it. Anyways, do you really believe that this is what the topic is about? - Moje |

| Simple, trust should be earned. Knowing someone forever may help, but if you the take the time with the young new Mafioso's then maybe you'll trust them to if they prove themselves. | |

Agreed. Especially about the new Mafioso's. They have to prove themselfs worthy of the trust, and if they do so, they should be respected. I believe that would be the way things should work out. - Moje |

Walks up and starts speaking in attempt to spread his knowledge. I think Orpheus said it best. Trust is gained from experiences from one another. Back in the beginning of this, (OOC: The reset after the cycles.) too many people thought they could trust one another. As the take down of some Crew Leaders took place, many people got together to achieve the goal of taking them down. As things moved onwards, trust begin to set in with some while others wanted to obtain their own goals. As trust sets in, its supposed to be harder to break your word with someone. This life is always changing and is always unpredictable. Trust is the only way to excel in this world. Working together as a family is a must. If trust isn't earned through each other, then paradise is lost. Lights up a cig as he waits for the next speaker to give his opinion. |

I'm very curious to Howard's view on the very subject he approached us with. Trust is the nearly the same for us in the mafia as it is in our civilian lifestyles. The only major difference is it's easier for a life to be on the line with our crime-filled life. But nonetheless, it's a slow process. I also believe there are different levels of trust. I trust some people to, for example, let me know if heroin is selling well in their city. I trust a few people to take care of some street thug who thinks he's better than me. But there are only a few select people I trust with my life. Only those people am I willing to take a bullet for because I have that much respect for them. Which brings me to another point. I'll give it to you in the form of a question. Is respect and trust intertwined and why? |

I don't believe that respect and trust are necessarily linked. However, if trust is something you respect then it invariably is part of it. However, it is certainly possible to respect someone and not trust them. I know there are a few people I could say that about. I respect them for their power, or their words, or a great accomplishment. That does not mean that I would trust them with a secret or with my life. Perhaps true respect does come with trust. If you respect someone fully & completely then I would think you trust them, at least somewhat. That is a very difficult question, Nick. I think it goes to the levels of trust and the levels of respect. It also probably depends on what you respect them for. I, for one, would not trust a respected killer who I was not close to with my life (though I may think their accomplishments daring & admirable). They are a killer after all. Trust & respect... I think they are linked together, but perhaps much more complicatedly than I am capable of discerning. |

I will give you what i feel personally... I immediately give people my trust and respect. It is not hard to gain initially cause it is there automatically, but it is yours to lose and in the event that you do lose either it takes a long time to slowly earn it back... for the people who make me earn there respect and trust i give no regards to.. I dont feel personal that i have anything to prove initially cause i have givin no reason for doubt... again this is just my personal stand point.. |
