"Loose change?" A voice said as people passed by. His tone was high, pitched. And he spoke at a speed that smelt like he'd been neck deep in a cup of joe.. or three. "Loose change?" He said again, yet something was off. For starters he looked a little more well dressed than the average bum. And secondly, he was giving something out rather than taking anything. "Loose change?" And again he slipped something to someone else walking past. The corner is set a little off from the rest of the hustle and bustle of the Streets. You practically need to go out of your way to pass this young male, yet people do and are. A constant stream of pedestrians keeps him busy, and spruiking. "Loose change?" His hand looks to be passing out cards of some sort to accompany his yet to hit puberty voice. A crossing of the road between you would bring you closer, yet a taxi speeds by just as you attempt to step off the curb. Maybe you flip it off, or draw your concealed weapon and chase it whilst letting off a couple of shots. Or you simply look around at what's on offer as you wait for a gap to make your way over. To the right of you is another chap offering something to people passing. A newsletter with an interview, it seems. The letters OVO are on the teenager's bag. He's calm and patient in handing out his offerings, choosing when and where to put forward the paper. A study of his eyes show's he's watching the body language of potential readers, looking for the right opportunities. To the left is yet another trying to offload a little something to the masses. This one seems a little more aggressive in the approach. You overhear cussing and backhanded remarks as some find the approach a little off putting. But, he's persistent. Like water off a ducks back. He goes back at it, and nearly tosses one at an old guy who had to pick up the pace just to get away from the stern fellow. 'Just take the fucking mafia news!' you think you might've heard at some point. And all about you are posters on poles and walls, showing the latest headlines to hit the streets. Maybe if you catch a coffee at your local and shoot the shit you might find out more. Or at the least, a flick on of the radio could keep you informed as to what's new. The latest on the grape vine. Fact or fiction, the world was booming with these stories. After a light down the road turned red, things eased up with the cars. A gap to cross was present. 'Loose change' sees you pacing over and shits himself. Literally. The young lad wasn't too familiar with this type of work. But he knew it wasn't as clean as what he was advertising. And his briefs. As the kid began to bolt he ripped his right hand out from the pocket on his large jacket. Out splashed a bunch of business cards. He held the back of his jeans as he quickly staggered down the street. What a jib. Now what? You could check the card to see what it's all about. Or continue on your way. The streets were quite busy, afterall, and no doubt you had other things to do and see whilst out here. |
