While it's a good idea at face value, and one that I've toyed around with in the past, I have some reservations specifically with how high those individual tax rates could wind up being. It also has the ability of potentially taking away a significant amount of autonomy for a user who would rather keep their cash elsewhere. I'm usually cautious about expanding a crewleader's power over their members, and we've seen a gradual trend of expanding a user's choice when it comes to their interactions with the crew they wind up being in - (loyalty, changes to the HQ system, the ability for essentially anyone to purchase a gun, etc) I can see it working in a few aspects, but I'll likely be trying to limit the extremes of what a crewleader can tax an individual at based on their normal tax rates. |

This seems like a great idea to me, great job on bringing it back to the front page too. It makes sense that different people would have different tax rates, and as the original suggesster said, it would be a perfect way of rewarding or punishing someone for minor discrepancies. All around good idea, it has my sponsor. |

In response to PC Ralph, I suppose there is no way to safeguard individual users against huge taxes in the HQ, but I would assume that if a CL was particularly harsh with their taxes word would soon leak out and people just wouldn't join that crew. |

I agree that there is that possibility of abuse, so I suggest that their be a limit on percentage. However, I do like the idea of 100% taxes as a punishment, So perhaps set things up so that the CL can only raise taxes past a certain point (60%, 70% mabye?) for a set period of time, say 3-5 days. this gives crew leaders the punishment, and then after it would automatically revert to whatever the cap is unless the CL changes it first. |

99%. The difference is that there's a much higher chance of mutiny should a crew be taxed that high. I'm moving towards supporting a tax rate on each rank as opposed to an individual, though. I'm just a little too uneasy with giving a crewleader that kind of power over an individual user's pockets, even if the odds of these kind of extremes being used is low. |

There's always the way out of Suicide or buying out and taking your chances if you aren't happy with a CL :D |

In that rare situation Ralph I think that an CL stupid enough to tax a member to that extreme would reap what they sowed. |

I don't find much of a choice if a player's only two options will essentially lead to their death. I like the idea of taxing ranks at different rates much like the government does, but granting an entity the ability to single out users individually just isn't something I'm comfortable with. |

I do not think that if this feature was implemented that it would be a feature to hand out punishment. |

There are some people I wish I could just tax 0 percent too, because they tribute daily, they do their job, and they live up to what they should as the highest ranking member you can be without having your own city. These people deserve to have a personal 0 percent tax rank as a thank you for what you do. I support this 100 percent.
Just my opinions on it. |

I agree with the general consensus here of not being able to tax someone 100%. I think that if there was a limit set on the max amount to tax any person (maybe 75%?) this could work quite well. |

Like PC-Warrior, I wanted to give this one some time before making my call on it. I still think it's a fantastic idea, but like PC-Ralph I must say I don't like that there would be that power to single out individuals. Fair enough, it may be necessary if someone is particularly IA without explanation or is tributing next to nothing; as long as this power is exercised with caution and the appropriate composure required by a CL, then yes...I can work past it. |
