Well all I have to say is get a job and if you already have one then it's your choice not to save up money for the game. |

personally i say good luck to people who will plough real money in to the game. The warning of course is can still lose it all to a wackback as seen recently; also don't spend beyond your means as only a game at the end of the day. |

How many players... seriously come back every character with 100s of bodyguards craig? I can think of... 2? Sometimes 3? Your telling me 3 people change the entire game? Cut me some slack... |

Of course 3 people can change the game. What a ridiculous comment to make.
If these same 3 people sign up with basically an unkillable account in terms of needing waves of hitters to kill them then they can quite happily put the effort in (no issue here. Thats fair for all) and work their way to the top in a matter of weeks. Say the same 3 people die as leaders due to a gun malfunction. They would be back to IWP and could be set back up as Consigs/Dons in 2 months. They would be a damn sight harder to kill than most other people who do not invest their own IRL money and try to work the markets and use MR cash.
It's a rinse and repeat cycle. Those with large amounts of money IRL do gain an advantage and can 'buy their way to the top' which this thread implies is not the case. |

I remember a war where (at least) 2 GF's (and their cities) had to put common efforts to kill you Caius. 200+ BG's GF is damn hard to kill. And one of these GF's died at the end of it, before your death. Would have he been alive without so much investment ? ... or not ? I honestly don't know. Moreover, this is past and we can't change it anyway. But in my opinion, it did change something in this story.
Anyway, apart from that, I agree with SyrupWaffle, this thread doesn't bring anything new.. |

Sam_Tyler I'm going to call bullshit. Yes 3 hitters can change things.... a year or so ago. These days everyone has a cannon. A HUGE benefit to this system is those that don't have friends to buy them their bgs they can buy themself. |

The credit system is contradictory to the way the game is run. We buy BG's with playing money that we have earned or have been sent, or alternatively by buying credits at a price and then selling them on for profit. However by introducing real money and in the cases of some, hundreds of pounds/dollars/whatever which is then transferred into credits we are cheapening the time and effort the players who do not donate put in here. |

Fletcher I take 15 credit hours in Aeronautics and work 30 hours a week. I'd say that's pretty damn full time. |

You can call bullshit all you like. Doesn't make it so.
Everyone in the game has a cannon is what you reckon. So you reckon IWP are easy one shot kills then? I never said 3 hitters. I said three leaders. Once bold and set up these over BG'd people will be nigh on unhittable for anyone without a full city to call on. BGs bought with credit cash skew the game away from those with less IRL than others. Which brings me to another one of your points.
You can save a few hundred dollars a month. You're right. I could. I have just got back into work having been unable to find any for two months. I work a 50 hour week plus a 5 hour Saturday so I more than cover 'full time'. But for me to be taking money away from my savings towards getting a house of my own would be very very selfish of me when my GF is putting as much as she can into the pot aswell. So you can shove your assumptions straight up your arse. My money is spent on making my life and future better. Any cash after that MR can have. I have donated for no benefit before and I will do so again should the need arise. I am arguing against the fact credits do not gain you an advantage. Of course they do. Why on earth would anyone want to spend £150 a month on credits if they don't?
You say that it gives an alternative to those without connections. Is that not what this game is all about? Is that not how the mafia works? You join as a young associate and make a name for yourself. Why should someone who is a fucking retard be able to walk onto these streets and get big big money because their IRL circumstances dictate they can?
As for your comment about me shooting IA's. I have helped this game grow as much as I humanely can. I advertise it everywhere I can like everyone else. Just because you choose to spend your real life cash doesn't make you any better than me. |

Sam_Tyler, I'm going to assume you're not calling me a retard for buying a shit load of bodyguards. So I will go ahead and ignore that comment in whole. |

I'll leave it here. Let the ring of fire continue. |

Well unfortunately Fletcher it takes money to power games. Yes I did say that comment because I can only assume that considering the arguments been "those with money IRL can have an advantage" so then I'm going to assume that means those arguing that are broke. |

Fletcher it may contradict what the game is about but nothing will be exactly on cue and even I have had to get use to that. |

lolz.
What balances things out for those that buy BG's is the training cost that in incurred every five days. Yes, some accounts can mange the costs but it takes the type of effort not all can put in. You can't and shouldn't expect the crew leader to bail out a member that has drowned in training costs...
Finally...training a gun is easy as pie nowadays. So it's not quite as hard to take down heavily guarded players as it was in the past. :D |

Gaining 100s of bodyguards obviously impacts upon the game or nobody would bother doing it. |
