I have donated about $50 (RL) total to the game in the (almost) four years I've played here. I managed to, without RL money, command the game and have the longest living playing account in history.
The outcome of your account is directly reflected by how much work you put in. Sure, it was tempting to drop loads of money on my account while people were selling their credits like hotcakes and BGing up around me but I never did. Sometimes, even though it takes a lot longer to get where you want, simply putting in the hard work and out working everyone is what makes it worth it in the end.
If people want to purchase credits, allow them to without fuss. Money wasn't what helped to make a difference in the normal, everyday game play (at least in my case). I retired at GF with 62 bodyguards, which is laughable this game, and yet found a way to live longer than everyone else. Sometimes, building and strengthening contacts within the game can be much more valuable than all the money in the world. I can think of many stories that are similar for other players.
...And you all look ridiculous. So stop. |
