Daily we complain that we have a lack of leadership on the streets of out fair cities... Sometimes this is very true.

Now I am not saying the families have BAD LEADERS I am simply saying sometimes their presents is lacking :[

Counted just before saying this .... From what my intelligent sources tell me ... we have 23 families, which would mean Boss, RHM, LHM. So total family leads would be 69. At the moment my resoures tell me that only 17 are around and only 3 of them being the families BOSS.

So yes I say we may have a lack of leadership here from time to time.

Hmm, i kind of do understand what you are saying about the presence, personally i cannot fault my CL, he is very active, almost 24hrs, but everyone needs sleep,

all i can say is, now in the UK, its friday night, 8.30pm, halloween tomorrow, im dressed as a surgeon covered in blood, and im out to get drunk, because i like student life :)

"The thing you have to remember is that a CL has a LHM and a RHM for a reason so that they can have eye's and ears every where I think you will find that those who are at the top of there crews are around allot more than you think, I think it is preserved around these streets that a CL or his hands have to be out here on the streets making bold statements every five minutes witch I think can be a bad thing. I would much rather my CL stand in the shadows than make him a siting target out here in the streets but in saying that I also believe that if something needs to be said he will say it.

Taking into account how many leaders are online at one time is inherently flawed.

People live all over the world, in different time zones, and they have other things to do besides be criming all day.  People work, have school, and are sleeping all at various points during the day.  Plus, the 60 second list does not update automatically, so there could have been people on that you didn't see.  Maybe a more accurate count would be to see how many of us have been online in the last 24 hours.  I'm sure the number there would be almost, if not all, of us.

Firstly, who is complaining daily that we lack leadership?

Secondly, being "around" is not leadership. Just because as you decided to address the masses only 3 leaders were wandering the streets, that doesn't mean that a) those leaders are good leaders and b) the others are not. It just means that 3 leaders were wandering around when you spoke.

To lead doesn't have anything to do with "being about". To lead doesn't have anything to do with speaking for the sake of being heard. To lead a family you don't even need to be known by the general community, it's simply a case of making the right decisions by your family, organising your family accordingly and being accessible to YOUR family, not every man and his $10 an hour prostitute.

So for you to say that we lack leadership because only a handful were around when you spoke is a nonesense. The fact that a quarter of the leadership were around at any one time has nothing to do with said families leadership skills, it merely means that everyone must sleep and everyone has business to attend to that doesn't mean they are wandering around the streets for you to see.

Oh and on another note Pardon, I noticed the apparent lack of leadership in your own family, if I apply your standards, as neither the CL, RH, or LH have been on in over an hour.  GASP!  Your family must be falling apart.

Well Sir, I`m afraid you very well may. Mine included. There`s nothing wrong in that of course, afterall, we are all able to speak in the manner we see fit, to converse and put over the views we as individuals feel are important to us.

However, statements that refer to the general community and our "daily" complaining with regard to the lack of leadership, are not only completely false and unfounded, they are damaging.

Every family within our community depends on communication. To be present and seen, is an indication to others that the individual is actively walking the streets. It is incorrect however, to believe that an indication of their abscence, is confirmation of their inability to perform the duties relative to their rank. I would not expect any family to be without an elaborate "hotline" system, that provides the eyes and ears necessary to continue business whatever time of day, whatever time of night, and whatever part of the world they may reside.

I sincerely hope that sufficient response is forthcoming to allay your concerns, and for you to be safe in the knowledge that the eyes and ears of Cosa Nostra never close.

Just coz a crewleader isnt around, or a rhm and lhm the world doesnt stop.  Most crews have experienced personnel and structures within structures to deal with problems as well as inter family communication if problems occur.  No one wants to run round the streets 24 hours a day, when can be dealing with the labour unions, imports/exports, cotton and other legitimate enterprises.

Delegation and discipline are two of the pillars of a great family and just coz you cannot see them, does not mean they are not a phone call away.  If we kept working without sleep and making sure everyone saw our upper structures we would not be aware when our enemies like TylerDurden bring their people to town as would be zombified with the tiredness

Before this conversation gets too far out of hand I think we should take a step back and consider a broader version of the statement that Pardon has put forward. If you consider a more general statement you could claim that there is a direct correlation between activity and the quality of someones leadership.

If someone is extremely inactive, showing up for only few hours at a time, over a period of weeks. they could possibly be considered a poor leader. They don't do anything for their employees because they aren't around. I think that would be a fair statement to make. The opposite of that is not necessarily true however. A leader can be online all the time it just gives them the opportunity to do right by their employees. It also gives them the opportunity to make mistakes. In other words being active just gives you the opportunity to prove your leadership but doesn't guarantee success.

Now for what Pardon actually said in his statement. I don't think taking a snapshot in time is representative of anyones ability to lead. He was mistaken to make that connection despite his good intentions of starting a debate but I'm sure he will take this oversight into account for the next time.

As a wise person has said this is just a mere shot in time. Do not believe that I mean that we have no good leaders. On the contary we have very many good leaders around. In my family tree we have worked with many.

I am proud to be in a good family now, with good friends.

I am not saying that this is a good idea though.

My ability to lead my city has nothing to do with the time you can visibly see me, or not see me. Even when I'm away from the visible eye, I am teaching, motivating, and working with various members of Detroit. You're seem right eager for something bad to occur because you cant see a leader at any given pointin time.

Point taken Don Ragnarok. His last words were offensive and uncalled for. It is one thing to speak freely in these streets as everyone has there god given right to do so.

Though speaking out of line like that and leaving what seems like open threats to those that lead these cities is something we do not condone is our family. We can only hope that talking like this to the hierarchy of the mafia will not end very well in there favor.

My father walked these very streets as a person in a leadership position that had worked closely with your fathers bloodline as well. So I know that it takes a lot of time and effort for someone to take a family under there wing. All in all calling people out with no bloodline expirience in this situation is just crazy.

What we do with the few hours were not racketing, stealing, killing, drinking, and most definitly gambling should not define us.

Just because someone is not on Pardon doesn't mean they are not reachable, just keep that in mind.

You clearly lack an understanding of our world and what it takes to run a family.

Every family has a hierarchy which can deal with 95% of the issues that may occur. Taking pardon as an example you were answerable to 7 people, your sponsor your sponsors boss rhm and lhm, and finally either myself, Kimble or TheDean. I would be very very suprised if not one of us was on at any point over a 24 hour period.

I wouldn't.

New York has got well lazy recently. I mean. Where was this weekends Takedown? I was well disappointed.

Sam we were all busy at a cocktail party at TheSmilingAssassins beach house, even NY need a week off to relax from time to time :)

Whenever I am not around visually, I have a few very close and trusted friends who have other means of contacting me should I be needed urgently, other than that, a few hours break in the day is nice, after all, I have a very trusted upper structure who are more than capable of stepping in my shoes when I'm not here.

More to the point..explain to me (taz), how does a families strength reflect on how much you see the leader walking around? I would have thought the leader you rarely see is the leader you should fear the most.
