A truck a day keeps the cops away Started by: Joey_Pavanno on Feb 20, '19 12:49

"Devlin, what the fuck are we doing here? I'm trying to get this broad over in South Side, Chicago, she doesn't like us Seattle types."

Devlin would have smirked at the classic acts of the charmer known as Seamus O'Fallon, he was one of the former members in the O'Riley Gang, it wasn't that they did not like Finan, they just had different ambitions, they wanted power, wealth, and women. Finan wanted the low-key life, he didn't want the glamour or power that came with being associated with the Italians, they were powerful and one of the biggest criminal organizations known to man.

"We're here because I got a job, Joey is investing into a nice little project, right here in Seattle. He needs a bit of money to cover the losses that he made purchasing the joint, he promises to cut us in, plus maybe a little kickback of this new club he's starting."

Seamus eyed his longtime friend of two years before looking away, taking the bottle of whiskey that rested on the table, begging to be opened. He poured himself a glass, looking at Devlin who shook his head, not wanting to partake in such business. He knew that it would not be good for him now, plus he did have some other business that would need to be taken care of.

"What's the score? Plus there has to be a reason why I ain't seeing no Dag-"

Before Seamus could even finish uttering the word, he was seeing stars as his head was brought down to the table roughly, He could notice that Devlin was standing over him.

"Never utter those Seamus, never. You're right though, there are no Italians with us, we gotta make the job look like we did it and it can't have any connections with their organization, understood?"

Seamus nodded, Devlin removing his hand and soon enough, they both watched each other for a while before Devlin cracked a smile, nodding for him to drink up. They would be leaving soon, time was actual money in this situation.

"So we got the plan? This truck is going to be at the docks, unloading and you wanna jump it then? Won't it be fucking filled with guards or fucking Italians, how do we know that we aren't hitting a rival mob boss? For all we know. it could be fucking Don Massaria. This ain't smart and it won't end well for us Devlin."

They sat in the Mona Lisa Bar, Seamus was a bit weird with hitting a truck that was supposed to be unloading precious cargo that could be used in supplying another Mobster, there were too many things that could be wrong with this hit and most of them consisted of robbing a rival boss that could come back and fuck them up. If they heard it was the Irish, it would be Finan that would get the blowback from this job and no one else, he could not do that to his former boss.

"Don't worry Seamus, trust me, Finan won't get the blowback and so what if it's Don Massaria? He ain't big enough to handle the other famillies, trust me, shit is going to be a bit different and wild, this is isn't the usual honor code that they are spouting off about, this is about making money and proving ourselves to Joey, understood?"

While he enjoyed the perks of being associated with the Pavanno Crew, Devlin did have an odd feeling about the honor code that they were always using as a way to justify the path they went down, it got on his nerves. He never let any of the other fuckers hear about it though, he was not going to allow his payday to escape him, he just didn't get it though and maybe he would never get it. He just needed to earn some cash, gain trust and see what awaited him in this life.

"Yeah, I understand, when do we do it?"

Devlin took the bottle of whiskey before raising it high, allowing a smirk to twitch at his lips as he took a cautious sip, knowing that his friend was about to make a lot of cash.

"Alright, here we are, I hope you know what you're doing Devlin, this may just blowback, actually, scratch that, it WILL blowback if we aren't sure of this. I'm ready to continue on and make some money, but only if you are sure of this mate, only if you are sure."

It was late at night and the shipment was coming in, a single light was shining down on the docks as the many guards and men had started to unload, Seamus was clearly still nervous with doing such a job, the docks were a business that wasn't run by The Italians they knew, it was someone and yet doing this, well it didn't seem right and this was all to prove something to Joey Pavanno, a man that was apparently an up and come, a man with vision, a man that could hold his own in a fight.

Now though, he had the help of the Irish Mob, along with those in his crew and men who were currently working on another project for him, it seemed that Joe had a hand in all the pies and was ready to branch out into Truck Hijacking. It all depended on who it was, it depended on what family had called this shipment in. They had yet to see.

"I'm sure Seamus, this is the chance to prove that you are ready for the big time because it's your chance now and show these Italian fucks what Irish Courage looks like, floor it, laddie!"

Seamus allowed a wild grin as he sped the car up and skid into the Docks, each and every one of the workers, plus guards on their feet, looking at the Irishmen with narrowed eyes.

"I wouldn't do it bastards, this belongs to Federico Lombardi, the boss of the Lombardi Family out of Upstate New York, whoever you're working for, or whoever is paying ya, is sending ya down a dangerous path."

Devlin waved his hand, motioning for Seamus to place two of the trunks inside the car, before noticing a couple other things as well. He handed Seamus his gun, grabbing a couple crates of A-Grade Italian Vineyard Wine and some Scotch, it was a nice haul, he was curious as to what was inside the trunks though, it was clearly high-grade and he placed all the loot inside the boot of his car.

"Well, tell Federico that Seattle says hello."

With this Devlin fired a round at the tire of the truck before entering his car once again and telling Seamus to go, they were done here, for now, what they didn't notice was the look of pure rage on the faces of the men that looked at the car with nothing but hatred.

Joey Pavanno was many things, he was a businessman, mobster, and the Advisor to his Boss, MasterBates, yet when he is dragged out of his sleep, he is not a happy man and this had to be a big moment, otherwise he was going to ring the neck of the Irish, Devlin, that had been a little too eager in trying to prove that he was the best possible choice to become his man on the streets, to control the rackets, be the boss, if it were. He wanted to take the eyes off of Joe and onto him as if it was a camera and he wanted to be the only star.

Joe knew that the kid was ambitious and wanted to be his number two, he admired it and remembered when he had wanted to be his father's second, it was an honor to control such an empire in this life. Only Business went so far, when he was called that the Irish had found something amazing, it had to be out of this world, or shit was going to be hitting the fans if he didn't get an answer out of one of these muppets.

"So you called me down here to tell me that you fucking took a couple crates of liquor, are you fucking stupid? Who the fuck even runs these docks, Devlin, you better have more, or otherwise, I may have misplaced my value in you."

Devlin smirked, motioning for Seamus to bring in the trunks and he did, but only one of them, he soon opened it and Joey's eyes had widened, he had a close idea to what he was staring at and he could not believe that someone had found this, or that someone had gained it in the first place.

"What the fuck? This is an MG 08, where the fuck did you find this beauty? And who did you get it from?"

Devlin stepped forward, knowing that he might be getting in trouble with his boss for this, yet it was a risk that would be needed, they could strip this thing down and sell it for parts, the money would be well-earned.

"You know where, the docks, apparently, ran by Federico Lombardi, Boss of the Lombardi Family. If he hears that it was the Irish and that the Irish work for you-"

Joe stopped him, patting him on the back and giving him a thousand dollars for a job well done, he gave the same to Seamus, making sure that the kid was well-paid for this job.

"We'll deal with that fire when it catches, for now, enjoy what you've earned. I'll talk to some contacts and see what I can do about our new hardware, good job Devlin, you've earned me a boatload of money and then some."

Joey walked off, heading back into his car as his driver, Tommy, drove out of the underground warehouse that was underneath The High Society Longue.

"Hey, what if Lombardi does target Fin-"

Devlin turned around, eying his friend with a smile before patting him on the back, motioning for him to place the trunks back inside the boot.

"As Joey said, we'll deal with that fire when it catches, for now, we enjoy what we've earned, C'mon."

Seamus grumbled, having second thoughts about this hijack that may get them screwed with another boss that would endanger the lives of his friends and people, it didn't seem like Devlin cared, only for himself. Maybe the man himself, Joey had noticed that, but if he did, it did not seem like he cared. Was he meant to get used to this? He guessed so.
