I have to say, I was looking forward to hearing the reasons for this, and excitedly came to the streets to listen to the raging debate only to find last nights attack is nothing more than an awkward elephant, shuffling around in the corner of the room, in a noxious methane cloud of its own making.

Is this how we conduct business nowadays? Let a city build for 60 days, execute them, leave no whispers, then make no take-down speech? Where's the professionalism gone? Do you have no pride in removing the city which must clearly have been a very real threat to you and your way of life? Do the people not deserve to hear all about the gunpowder plots that were clearly afoot?

Right now, these streets should be bustling with the assailants justifying and politicising about the reasons for their actions - promising the logs are real and the threats unimagined, the kin of the fallen should be seeking some sort of explanation, the salty causing drama and the occasional rogue vowing justice... yet here we are mute, uninformed and unentertained. Have our standards fallen so far that we're willing to disregard the traditions of old, and just accept mediocrity in our business affairs?

Or - more worryingly - is this the 'Curtis effect'; a by-product of the scummiest regime ever to take power? Do we have another purge regime, desperate to "win" this life? Curtis-lite, if you will?

I think we all thought better of you, Philly. May the kin of the fallen soldiers find peace.

It's been less that 24 hours since the attack, I don't know about you but premeditating an announcement like that will itch at the superstitious. Tempting fate is a foolish game and you don't want to be on the receiving end of an attack mid-victory speech. Listening to your words though I am being put off the idea of listening to the salty complaints, the calls of false motives. I would rather know that those in power have addressed directly with the kin of the deceased and that they will cascade the message to the kin of their members, as well as providing a heart felt 'thank you' for their service and wish them well in their new lives.

SaintJimmy shrugs again.

After speaking with Mono privately, I have come to the conclusion that I have nothing in this life to keep me going and feel that suicide is the only option

Why even write an explanation when the family of the fallen will just deride and insult anyone who has the audacity to offer a semblance of closure.

Actually Kyoshiro, I apologized for not providing the drama that the author of the soliloquy was looking for.  What you did, was put words into my mouth, and draw conclusions which simply aren't true. 

Call me apathetic (Or maybe even "indifferent" - heh) to drama, but lazy?  I think not.  I didn't get to where I am by being lazy.

Alright everyone...  Can we just all take a step back here and think on what's going on here?  At the very heart of a good Crew Leader is a desire to do right by their crew and to keep them, their allies, and perhaps even the game as they know it and want it safe.  There was an attack.  Chicago was the target.  I've heard rumors of just who the aggressor or perhaps aggressors were but there was nothing in stone, only smoke and guesswork and supposing.  We've yet to see a thread, which I'm sure is likely coming but we all need to just calm down.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm hurt by reasoning that I've heard.  Truths or opinions, fact or paranoia, it matters not.  There was an act done and I can only assume it was done with the best interest for those close to the aggressor.  

Was Chicago a threat?  We didn't think so but who knows?  That's the way of this game isn't it?  Everyone's a threat unless you're close friends and even then...  This game is a game of deception and allies and intrigue.  It's beautiful and wonderful but also terrible and heart wrenching and yet we all come and play it again and again.  What brings us back?  For me it's the people...  The curiosity to see how the landscape changes with every regime and with every takedown with every war and every power move.  

These people have been my friends, my enemies, my allies, my executioners...  And at the end of the day?  Each and every one of them are people behind the screens.  All people that I care for even if I have not met them face to face (some I have.) All my Lovies.  There are no good guys in this game.  There are no bad guys.  There are only guys.  In every run everyone is likely to be the 'bad guy' to someone.  But even then, sometimes a kill is not taken because they are the 'bad guys' but there are other reasons in play.  A lot of the time it has nothing to do with hatred, or anger but simply a power play.  Sometimes not even that.  But every good Crew Leader does what they do for the good of those they care about and in this case even though I am on the receiving end of the negative most consequence, I feel the aggressors are likely good Crew Leaders and have done good in their own eyes.

That said can we please stop with the anger?  I know that we are hurt.  I know that we are frustrated.  I'm right there with you but screaming is not going to help us enjoy our game.  I'm sorry if I've offended anyone with my take on things.  I do eagerly await the thread that's likely to come but for now let's quit slinging mud and enjoy the next adventure yea?  Love you lot.  Each and every one of you.

It was a truly disappointing approach by the attackers. Even more disappointing that they couldn't be bothered to explain.

Can you really be surprised? Even though I haven't been effected by this round of hooligans. It is cringe worthy to watch.
