Whilst I can understand your frustrations, you need to look at this logically and as if it was in real life.

Someone comes up to you with a gun and says give me your wallet, you turn round and say "AHAH! I've got a piece of paper on me that says you're not allowed to do that....Respect my wishes!"

I think you'd likely get shot... and then pick pocketed anyway.

Oh I didn't realise that we were going to make such a distinction between pickpocket'ers and robbers considering both are criminals and both steal from you. I'll correct my statement just for you then.

A pickpocket'er sneaky sneaks up on you with the intention of stealing your wallet, as hes about to commit the terrible deed he spots the sign that you've got attached to your back that says "Please respect my wishes and do not pickpocket me".

The pickpocket'er is clearly going to have a sudden change in morals and decide that maybe he should give a shit about the wishes of his victims...

I don't think its a matter of being right or wrong or having to keep your thoughts to yourself. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. All I was doing was providing you with a reasonable answer as to why you might find people won't listen to something like a PP status.

At the end of the day if something like that was to be enforced, what's to stop me from putting "Please don't shoot me" and expecting that to be equally enforced.

Exactly and that kind of retaliation is exactly what you would expect to also happen in real life if one mobster was to shoot another. Which is the main reason why that I seriously doubt there will ever be a rule that permits you to shoot someone just for pp'ing you.

I don't think it is disrespectful to not honor someones pp stance. you PP stance in the game is just your feelings, and honestly do you really need to put don't pp me or not pp friendly on your profile.  We are playing as criminals.  You will be ppd and mugged it is part of they way of things.

However I do believe people do use the pp thing in a disrespectful manner . Such as making it a joke about raping.

And don't tell me people don't do this here. They do it happened to me. I left a gang because they felt they it was okay to make  pickpocketing  into a rape joke constantly.

it was not an indirect rape joke it was a direct rape joke.

Meaning it was not a blanket joke it was directed at me personally.

 I spoke to the Cl about it and showed him the exact wording , he still tried to say it was okay.

This is where the disrespect is in the pockets, not Pickpocketing against the wishes on the players profile.
