I am always deeply amused by the nature of our industry. We steal, kill, cheat, threaten, blackmail, extort and much more in the name of profit and power; yet some believe nepotism to be the most heinous crime that occurs. Pathetic.
Personally, I fail to see even a small problem with 'playing favourites', never mind the huge concern it is made out to be. Cultivating relationships is something that, in many instances, takes more than a lifetime of work. If every member of a man's blood line has worked hard to distinguish themselves, why shouldn't the descendants reap the benefits?
The mob isn't built on equality. It's not a case of 5 gold stars gets you a crew, and to think crews and other 'perks' are (or should be) rewarded simply on hard work is a staggeringly naive believe. |
